I did like it but I found the parts about Root's childhood to be disturbing and pathetic. I guess that is what we are to mull on.
The bright note is another appearance of Bear, the adorable killer dog that Reese acquired this season.

I thought Root's childhood story was reminiscent of Criminal Minds. I always like when they get into something psychological, as it's a nice break from watching Reese throw people through windows (which has become something to look for in every episode, kind of like on Psych where there's a hidden pineapple in every ep )...but I found myself not really caring about Root's story either way. Maybe I was just more interested in Reese getting Finch back. I, too, think Bear is a great addition. Being an animal lover, though, I always get a little concerned with animals on screen. Twenty bucks says there's an episode in the future where Bear gets kidnapped by some monster.

I strongly suspect Root has had some affiliations with Elias and so therefore we'll prolly see her again in that context or in some sort of gamemanship with Agent Snow. I get the feeling that she is part of some TV version of the protean, nebulous Anonymous group, if it can be called that, or Wikileaks type organization, only more sinister.
