"After the machine gives Reese and Finch six numbers at once, their search for clues leads them to a coastal town where they are forced to ride out a storm with a group of locals in a police station. However, as the weather rages outside, a sinister situation arises inside when they realize there is an unidentified killer hiding among them. This one was a bit more subtle. I noticed two things. - Bear is a lot more tuned into the Machine than perhaps those around him are. I notice in a prev ep he was watching the monitors with Finch, and in this ep, he sensed the Machine about to contact Finch after they got out of the theater, while Frinch were still walking around clueless.
- This ep made me wonder why the government doesn't want the Machine to alert it to multiple murders and serial killers? The key point there is that the government is no longer in service of protecting its citizens, but itself. Don't know whether that's the point of "Proteus," but it certain had me thinking about that.
