Hi there!
I signed up somewhat in late summer last year and since I am not much of a forum person normally I haven´t posted anything yet. But I did a lot of catching up on reading the old threads :-)
Well, I am 33 years old and live in Europe. English is not my first language so please excuse any errors.
I am a fan of Michael since I first saw him on Lost. Still sad this show is over because I like it a lot better than Person of Interest. Michael is awesome in it but the general theme of the show is not so much my cup of tea.
Judging from the old threads there used to be a lot more going on here - what happened? Did most members relocate somewhere else or something...? Now I am angry with myself a bit for not signing up some years ago, seems I missed all the fun :-( Reading old threads is just not the same...
By the way - anyone know what happend to henrygalovers over at livejournal? I loved that site.

Hi, Jav! I'm so glad you've been enjoying our old threads. (Your English is fantastic, by the way.) We haven't relocated, but we used to be a much more active board -- people still check in from time to time, but it's nothing like it was when Lost was at its peak. There's just not as much to talk about without a weekly mystery involving a magic island and a power-crazed leader like Ben Linus! Person of Interest is a good show, but there's only so much you can say about it. The board will continue to be here, however, and perhaps someday the pace will pick up a bit. Edith, who is the owner of this board, runs www.michaelemerson.net/ , where you can also hear anything new about Michael's career. I remember there being a henrygalelovers community on LiveJournal, but I wasn't a member and don't know what happened to it...maybe someone else will stop in here who knows. |

That´s true, but apart from just talking about Lost/Ben there was a lot more discussion about Michael´s career in general. At least that´s my impression. It´s not that he is "out of the spotlight" suddenly - just the opposite I would think with the interviews/clips and whatnot about POI. Person of Interest is a good show, but there's only so much you can say about it. Yep, and - I am aware that this might be a pretty unpopular opinion - but I find Harold Finch not even half as interesting as Ben. The board will continue to be here, however, and perhaps someday the pace will pick up a bit. Well, part of the discussion about his career was that we were the first people do be digging up that info, LOL. Seriously, 8 years ago if you wanted to know anything about Michael's career or history you had to come here...there was no other website or community anywhere. And when things expanded, Edith started her fantastic website and information was more accessible, people still came here to share any new information they found. Lost drew huge numbers of people here and they were checking in every day to post or read new info. After Lost ended, that motivation went away, and POI hasn't attracted a new crowd...so despite Michael still being on a hit show, it's a very different experience. I'm so sorry the LJ community disappeared; I hate when that happens...you'd think with the way people talk about "whatever you put online is there forever", information wouldn't be so easily lost, but it is. Hey, I wonder if LJ communities ever get archived by archive.org/index.php ? If you still have the website address you could check. |

Ok, now with what you are writing it makes kind of sense why there is not much going on anymore. I also remember a thread back in the days at "The Fuselage" (or something) that went on for about 200 pages and several years where you could find A LOT of info (and pics) on Michael. But I figure (from the usernames) that a lot of the people posting there also posted here. So kind of a "mirror" in a way. Also that Henry Gale community at livejournal had a lot of the latest news. Probably the same people too.
Yes, that´s what I thought - once it´s online it´s kinda there forever, so I never bothered saving the fanfics (at least my favorites), I am kinda mad at me right now for not doing so.
I checked the wayback machine on that site the instant I found out it´s gone but you get this error: "Page cannot be crawled or displayed due to robots.txt." Whatever that means, sigh.

Hi Jav!! Yes, the forum is much quieter than it used to be, sadly. We still love love love Michael, but Lost was definitely the heart and soul of the conversations that used to take place. Perhaps we need to do a bit of 'marketing' to get our friends to check back more frequently - any ideas? Maybe a Benry Rewind party???

Hi tigerlily  Yeah, a Lost rewatch? Maybe two episodes a week and discussion afterwards? Do they usual regulars of this board still sign on from time to time? There seems to be a lot of love for Michael going on at tumblr - but usually they just post pics back and forth. Nice if you are looking for pics but no "real" discussion involved usually. But anyway, still sad that I wasn´t around this board earlier. |

The person who used to maintain it has a new baby, a new life, and is no longer a fan of Michael. Sorry about that. I wish she would relinquish it to someone else. |
