Hi Ya'll ;D ;D I'm amber new to these forums! Didn't know they existed till today, shame on me!! I've been visiting this website for a while now. Anyway - Little about myself, I'm from Indiana, in a town full of nothing! Turning 30 in a couple of weeks, scared to death about it. If you want to offer advice I'm game! I work in Public Relations and Website Design which sounds fancy but its not. I don't have children, but house is full of cats and rabbits! I have no idea when my "fandom" for Michael started, I imagine I was probably a fan of Carrie first. And discovered she was married to the dude from that weird episode of X-Files.  And then I saw Lost and it Blew my mind, I probably watch the series all over again at least every few months! Anywayy, hope to meet some new people on here!! - amber |

Hello amber and welcome to the forum! So cool you finally found your way to us  I was scared of turning 30 as well, but now I am 33 and I don't feel much of a difference to, say 29, guess it's how young you feel and how young you look. I am sometimes still asked for my ID when buying alcohol. Seriously. Can't say I am sad about that, hehe. Cats and rabbits? And they get along? I have heard about dog and rabbit before, was surprised that worked out. Have you already seen Person of Interest (as you don't write anything about it)? If so, what do you think? See ya! |

Welcome to the board, Amber! ;D Glad you're here with us. I'm slowly approaching 30 myself and refuse to accept this fact. So that's the only help I can offer... denial. LOL Oh, how nice that you have cats and rabbits. I'm a bunny person myself. I've adopted several rabbits and volunteered for the House Rabbit Society in my area...right now I just have one rabbit, Lyra, a 6 year old lionhead mix who was nearly euthanized in a shelter. I'm also one of those people who re-watches regularly...there's always something new to ponder or pick up on, and part of that comes just from Michael's skill as an actor! |

I get asked for my ID when I want to purchase lottery tickets!! lol im not sad about that either, but I do often find myself letting people know how old I am. Because if not they just think I'm a kid right out of college. Really kind of annoying. My cat & rabbit do get a long great, mostly because all of them think they are human, my rabbit is pretty funny he plays fetch! YES, POI is my favorite show at the moment, I have both of seasons of DVD and I'm watching them on air as well as a 2nd time on CBS.com. Its not a popular opinion, but I really do enjoy Sarah's new role on the show... And I love the new comic-ness of the show too, the awkwardness with Harold is hilarious.. Loved the line where Shaw was saying the "lady killer" went from Blue Blood to Hipster in like 2 seconds and Harolds response was something like "I have NO idea what you just said" |

Sounds funny! That picture of your rabbit is super-cute, thanks for sharing! I did have a rabbit when I was about 8 years old. How do your cat and rabbit think they are human? Or rather - how does that show in their behavior? Excuse my rather stupid asking but (apart from that rabbit at age 8 and a budgie even before that) my experience with pets is with fancy rats only. They were awesome - slept on my shoulder, could do some tricks, reacted to their names just like a dog. And they were all named after horror movie characters lol. I will now drop the ultra-unpopular opinion: I don't like Person of Interest. It's not a bad show but in general these they!fight!crime! shows don't appeal to me at all. Apart from that I don't like Harold Finch, I have tried my best to like him but no. (If you have tumblr you might have read my explanation there. If not and you would like to read it let me know, I will paste the link with my next response, you don't need a tumblr yourself to read it) So, long story short - I watch it just because Michael is in it. Lost and Ben Linus forever! |

sure! whats your tumbler, I dont do tumbler  I have been bored latley though been thinking about making one, I am highly considering doing a fansite on carrie.. At the moment I work for this website jonasbrothers.com its the official website, but due to recent news they may break up so I am loosing my job most likley and need something else to do lol.. My cat and rabbits, are just unique to say the least... Its really hard to explain their behaviors in words. you just got to see it for yourself. They are very particular about things. Rabbit usually spends a lot of time in cage, cause he eats my phone/internet cables. The cats like to "brush" his hair with their paws.. They don't really chase each other. Its Not uncommon to not like POI! I enjoy crime shows, Law & Order is my favorite though. I also like to look at Jim C. He's pretty easy on the eyes! One thing I do not care for about POI though is the russia storyline.. And the eliais storyline, I hate it.. I'm definitely more of a "lostie" though.. I've been trying to get my folks to watch it for years but they cant get into it.. Thank god for netflix its on there now, I would hate to bring out my DVDs to watch them all the time.. Anywhoo, This forum should be PACKED with emerson fans! Where are they at!!?? |

We used to be a lot busier when Lost was airing...activity kind of dropped off after the finale. I think it's some combination of the fact that message boards are a less popular way to communicate than they used to be, we're not the sole source of info about Michael anymore, and possibly that POI hasn't drawn in quite the same level of rabid fanaticism that Lost lent itself to (what with every episode needing to be rehashed and discussed and explained over and over!). But we're here, and we're not going anywhere, so we always hope more people will drop by and have a look at what's been posted. ;D

Not so much my cup of tea this kind of music. Carrie fansite sounds like a cool idea! You don't have any videos of your pets on youtube or something by any chance? I love animal videos. Don't know, but Jim Caviezel is not my type somehow. And the Reese character is pretty much like "walking Valium" if you ask me. The show could be SO much better if Josh Holloway had gotten the Reese-role, sigh. Can't imagine Holloway would have played Reese the way Caviezel does. Do you like the Lost ending? Another unpopular opinion here but I HATE it. Actually sometimes I try to pretend the whole sixth season hadn't happened (except for "Dr. Linus" that episode was awesome) and the show ended with the bomb going off. Had they killed Ben somewhere in season five I would have never rewatched season six. POI seems to draw kind of an "older" crowd I've noticed, a lot of lost fans were younger I think? My grand parents seem to like it and they are in their 70s! My Father is 59 he likes POI and really hated lost, so there you go lol! I don't care for the last episode of LOST, I have watched it SO many times and I really don't get it!!! Especially the ending where Jack is in the bamboo forest is that Jack's Plane? Is it another plane? WHAT?? Lol... Before BEN came on the show, I really really loved John Locke, Had a slight "hangover" crush of Matthew's from Party of five but I quickly got over that ha! I hated his character on lost. I do have videos of my bunny on my phone, hmm maybe I can upload them. If I do I will probably post them on Twitter! twitter.com/heyambi |

POI does draw an older crowd, I agree. I have older family members who are crazy about it but don't watch anything else decent. I'm one of the people who loved the Lost finale...I don't believe in an afterlife or anything else that the final season suggests, but to me, Lost is all about how people behave and what they create, and the ending really nailed that. Like a lot of Lost, it doesn't apply to me personally, but speaks of something greater and more timeless. I don't judge the people who didn't like it, though...or try to change their minds...it either hits you or it doesn't, and that's cool either way. I'm with you on not liking Matthew's character, though, hahahaha. With the repeat viewings, sometimes I feel like I can tolerate him better, and sometimes I can't stand him even more, haha. I started watching Lost just because Michael was going to be on it. Little did I know the role it was going to turn into! |

Hm, can't speak from personal experience of how old the general viewers of POI are as a lot of the people on tumblr are even a lot younger than me. My parents 59 / 61 don't watch neither Lost or POI. I actually tried to almost force my Lost DVDs on them but no chance, not interested. They have so no idea what they are missing.
First time I watched the ending of Lost I didn't get it either but after reading a couple of fanboards, Lostpedia and whatnot and rewatching that episode I think I got it now. If you got any questions just ask, I think we can clear up your confusion. But the plane at the end doesn't have any significance from what I know - it's just some "let's put a little bit of nostalgia (or whatever) into the ending credits".
I have heard a lot of times that "if you don't like the ending of Lost you just didn't understand it". Well, no, in my case that's not the case. I don't even know where to begin to describe why I dislike it. In short it's probably because I really liked that time-travel stuff and the more science-approach they took and I really thought the Flashsideways-world is a parallel universe or something (at least something that could be explained in a science-manner) and I am generally interested in string theory / quantum physics so I LOVED that approach. And in the end they are all in some pan-religious "church" going into some white light. The End. WTF!!! Only redeeming quality that last episode had for me was that they didn't kill off Ben last minute.
Also, this is taking it too far probably but why was Sayid in that "church" with Shannon and NOT with Nadia? I mean, Nadia was the love of his life, not Shannon who he spent like, 50 days or something?, with. Gaah. I could go on for hours on this topic but I will leave it at that.
Would be cool if you could upload some of your pet-videos. Do I need a twitter on my own to watch them? Cos I don't have one.

Maybe Lost is something the end could be different for someone??
I watched it and my first thought (first viewing) was that was the island even real in the first place? Was it like a purgatory? Was it Hell? Was it just a little form of "heaven" that each character made up in his/her mind
Then I watched it a few other times and got another vibe from it.. Its funny you can still watch this show, pick up on somethings and get a brand new look.. Sometimes its fun to Favor different characters because you will pick up on even more stuff, the more I liked "BEN" I picked up on a lot of stuff, but if I was favoriting Jin I would pick up on something totally different

I don't have trouble imagining why others might enjoy the ending of Lost, just for me it was this major disappointment because I really expected something in the realms of science/science-fiction. Not that IMHO "cheesy" . ..and now we will all go into that light whatever that light is but who cares...?! Yeah, probably heaven, nirvana, another round or reinincarnation or something. In other words, the polar opposite of what I expected. What didn't help either is that so many questions are left unanswered. Instead of, say, waste so much time with the "other Others" at the temple they could have actually used that time better. Yes, I am bitter about the whole sixth season of Lost, I admit it. For me the show got better with every season and season five is probably the most awesome thing to have ever graced my tv screen and so my expectations for season six were astronomically high. So you could say it's partly my own fault I was so disappointed - too high expectations. Yep, I can read your twitter, alright |
