I'm so happy I finally got to see Michael's "The Practice" episodes. What a great character. Which got me to thinking, was he really the serial killer he claimed to be? I myself am still somewhat undecided, and can see it either way. On one hand, I believe he was brilliant enough to pull off the insanity act. Besides, he did send that tape recorder bomb to the law office, amongst other things. Plus the murders stopped after he was arrested. On the other, there were just small moments where when he was contradicted while on the witness stand, his upset went very deep and was very convincing. I would love to know what kinds of choices Michael made as an actor while portraying this character, it was just such a phenomenal, chilling performance. His eyes alone, that stare just gave me chills. What are your thoughts on this?

You know, I too wondered if he really was the serial killer or not. They never gave us a definitive answer. The way all of the characters just assumed that he was the killer made it look to me like they were gonna pull a plot twist near the end and make him innocent. I think that we are supposed to assume that he is really the killer though.
There is one minor detail that makes me think about his guilt though. In the end we hear him on his security device tape as he is about to be killed. He cries out something like, "Please no!!" He seemed so whiny and weak the way he begged. Not like a vicious killer would. I may be reading into it too much though. . .
His performance was definitely awesome. I loved the way he was such a smart ass on the witness stand. I actually found myself laughing at him. It's amazing how he could be so creepy and funny at the same time.

I need to go back and listen to that tape, didn't catch the "Please, no!" (I loved the "Before you touch me, you should know one thing: I have cooties"...cracked me up). Though even if he were the killer, it's always possible that at that last moment when he realizes he's going to die, he might weaken a bit. He may have been a vicious killer, and utterly brilliant, but he's still human for the most part. I want to go back and observe him one more time, try to figure him out more. I love figuring out psychological profiles of characters like that. He fascinates me too much I read that they discussed on the set whether or not he was the killer, and even Michael himself wasn't sure.

It's one thing that he's very good at, like Michelle Rodriguez was for her stint on Girlfight... and since Michael will be on LOST soon (in which Michelle is currently on the show), how awesome would it be if they had them go face to face before a fight with them just staring at each other? I know... I'm being silly ;D

lol!!! very silly indeed. Yes, he definitely acts with his eyes a lot. Doesn't need to speak, doesn't need to do much, just let his eyes say all.
