I was thinking that this could be an interesting sort of game. As I'm sure you all know some of the characters on Lost have their own theme song (or a song that most everyone associates with them). (Ex. Desmond: Make Your Own Kind of Music, Juliet: Downtown) Here's the game... Everyone has to pick a song that they associate with Ben. Just post a link to the song or post the lyrics. Then we'll vote on the song that we all think best applies to Ben. I thought this might be fun, -Benjamin (I'm lucky...It's my real name )

While I do love that song, sadly it was ruined for me when I watched the movie Willard (about the guy who trained rats to kill people...) and they used that song in a VERY inappropriate scene.

Uhm, maybe "If I only had a heart". You know? 'When a man's an empty kettle, he should be on his mettle, And yet I'm torn apart. Just because I'm presumin' that I could be kind-a-human, If I only had heart...'
(Hadn't John once called him "The Wizard of Oz"?)

the song that i think Bens character relates most to is Nickelbacks "savin me"Prison gates won't open up for me On these hands and knees I'm crawlin' Oh, I reach for you Well I'm terrified of these four walls These iron bars can't hold my soul in All I need is you Come please I'm callin' And oh I scream for you Hurry I'm fallin' [CHORUS] Show me what it's like To be the last one standing And teach me wrong from right And I'll show you what I can be Say it for me Say it to me And I'll leave this life behind me Say it if it's worth saving me Heaven's gates won't open up for me With these broken wings I'm fallin' And all I see is you These city walls ain't got no love for me I'm on the ledge of the eighteenth story And oh I scream for you Come please I'm callin' And all I need from you Hurry I'm fallin' nice game idea by the way Ben

Savin' Me is great!
I just found a new one
I can picture this playing when Ben is returning to the village after the purge or maybe after he gets free from the Losties in season 4. Everything has gone wrong and now Ben would do anything to fix things.
"The Road and The Damned" by Coheed and Cambria
I believed, in the world right in front of me, But now, along these empty streets. Where this curse haunts these memories, Of a man and all he's lost.
No time to think about it. No room to breathe.
If I had a way back, I'd ride through the dark and the dawn (But please don't wait for me) Because the man you love don't live anymore. I can't go home again.
Tonight you'll sleep. No fear of what might become of me, my dear. Within these end of days, Where this longing turns this man to prey On a love that yearns to die.
No time to live and doubt it Girl, I'm worth the second chance. (What have I done?) No time to think about it, no room to breathe.
If I had a way back, I'd ride through the dark and the dawn (But please don't wait for me) Because the man you love don't live anymore. I can't go home again.
I believed in the world once in front of me, well now that's gone.
If I had a way back, I'd ride through the dark and the dawn (But please don't wait for me) Because the man you love don't live anymore. I can't go home again. [x2]
Bye, goodbye. Bye, goodbye Bye, goodbye, bye. Bye goodbye, my dear.

I really like "The Road and the Damned"; it's sad but it's a very good song. "Savin' me is a great choice as well.. I especially like the chorus. Okay...and "if I only had a heart" ....*cackles* too funny.

lol you are a voltair fan arent you Ben this song reminds me of not just Ben but the others in general : Idlewild - "show no emotion"Can you hear the words I'm trying to find for the feelings that define you There's no point in trying to hide from the skeleton that surrounds you So we speak no louder than a whisper when we're running from winter So we speak no louder than a song when we're falling all day falling all day long In whatever we say we show no emotion we show no emotion and when we kick back into the world of motion we show, we show no emotion Can you see ourselves and trying to hide the reasons that define you If there's a point in trying to find if there's an emptiness inside you So we speak no louder than a whisper means we're running from winter So we speak no louder than a song means we're falling all day falling all day long In whatever we say we show no emotion we show no emotion and when we kick back into the world of motion we show, we show no emotion Whatever we say we show no emotion we show no emotion and when we kick back into the world of motion we show, we show no emotion In whatever we say we show no emotion we show no emotion and when we kick back into the world of motion we show, we show no emotion

Ok, this is the serious one: I don't know why, but the first time I've heard this song I thought about Ben (maybe is because I think very often about him?). it.youtube.com/watch?v=uu1Z2PoaE5I(The video is from the movie "Farinelli") The song is Handel's 'Lascia ch'io pianga' from the opera 'Rinaldo' "Lascia ch'io pianga/la cruda sorte/E che sospiri la libertà ." An approximate translation is 'Let me weep/ over my cruel fate/and that I long for freedom.'

"A Thousand Years" by Sting
A thousand years, a thousand more, A thousand times a million doors to eternity I may have lived a thousand lives, a thousand times An endless turning stairway climbs To a tower of souls If it takes another thousand years, a thousand wars, The towers rise to numberless floors in space I could shed another million tears, a million breaths, A million names but only one truth to face
A million roads, a million fears A million suns, ten million years of uncertainty I could speak a million lies, a million songs, A million rights, a million wrongs in this balance of time But if there was a single truth, a single light A single thought, a singular touch of grace Then following this single point , this single flame, The single haunted memory of your face
I still love you I still want you A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves Like galaxies in my head
I may be numberless, I may be innocent I may know many things, I may be ignorant Or I could ride with kings and conquer many lands Or win this world at cards and let it slip my hands I could be cannon food, destroyed a thousand times Reborn as fortunes child to judge anothers crimes Or wear this pilgrims cloak, or be a common thief Ive kept this single faith, I have but one belief
I still love you I still want you A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves Like galaxies in my head On and on the mysteries unwind themselves Eternities still unsaid til you love me
