I came by here a while back to find reference for a 3d model I was making of Michael as Henry Gale. Here's the result. It's posted at: forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=435511You can stop by and register and vote it up if you want! Thanks to all for being my research assistants!

Wow, it's almost perfect! The eyes....something about the eyes.......too close together, maybe? The eye color is great.
You captured that beautiful, almond shaped head of his really well.
He also looks much younger in your rendering, but hey, no harm in that!
Thanks for sharing this with us!!!

So how did you this fantastic picture. Did you take his photo and altered it?

No, it's not an altered photo. It's modeled in 3d on the computer using the photos I got from this site for reference. In particular I needed a good full face photo and a good profile. The profiles are hard to find. I then textured mapped the model using good stuff like subsurface scattering, specular mapping and bump mapping. I then render it using high dynamic range images to light and supply reflectance to the surface. And there you have it! Virtual Michael!

Wow, that's super! Glad you posted it for us to see. You have skills ;D
I've heard of high dynamic range imaging before...I was looking at some sites earlier that show great landscapes in HDRI.
