In an interview with Lindeloff and Cuse, it highlights that the show is back on track creatively despite the ratings problem, it gives a couple clues to the next three episodes[which we already knew about], explains their original plans for Nikki and Paulo before us fans made them kill them- but has this scary quote. The producers have kept things well under wraps for the last three weeks, so these EW people obviously don't know what they're talking about- but even hinting of grouping Ben with the possibly doomed Charlie is too much of a scary thought. Let's hope they know better in the future. The article is at www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20034817,00.html [copy and paste it if the address doesn't completly link] It's also on pages 10 and 11 of this week's issue itself, with that old preview picture of Ben on the bottom left of page 10.

Maybe we should all go to The Fuselage en Masse and express our concerns about killing off Ben. They paid attention to Nkiki and Paulo complaints.

Did the growing cult of Ben/Locke as lovers folllowers begin before or after "Man from Tallahassee"? Because it's certainly gotten to be a big subfollowing around here lately. If Ben were to die[hopefully not till the end of the series, if it has to happen], would people feel even worse, or a little better, if Locke did it?

If Locke kills Ben than that would make two of my favorites he killed.

Locke was my favorite from the absolute start until Ben established himself as well. I guess it's a bit of luck that a new favorite came along just as the old one was starting to make more and more questionable decisions.

It was likely from the crash, no in depth explanation was given. And that is an orange, a la Marlon Brando in The Godfather, from the pilot episode. It was one of the first looks we ever had at Locke.

If they kill Ben, I won't watch the show anymore. (I mean, I guess I will if other people have it on, but I won't care anymore.) And without a villain (to us, it's an arguable usage, but - yeah ), the whole thing would probably deflate pretty quickly. Shut up, EW!

If they need a new villain, they might think that they could replace Ben with Jacob as the show's ultimate "villain" for the rest of the way- though there is no way that would work as well.
You kill Ben before he can reveal so many things via flashbacks, his own personal history, his feelings and thoughts, and whether he really is good or evil and whether the Others are truely evil- then that proves that they are not driving to answer any real questions, but find ways to kill off plotlines and characters so they can milk the show for a few more years. That's why they killed Ethan so soon, that's why they didn't answer much in the Season 1 finale, that's why they've taken so long to resolve the last scene in Season 2, that's why things from far back as Season 1 aren't close to being resolved yet. You sacrifice Ben at the alter of their desire to not answer any questions until the last season, if that- if you would rather kill a great character and lose a great actor than move the plot along the best way possible, you lose all real artistic credibility.
