"Was that nessecary?" he asked sophie as Mel and Ethan left the room.
Sophie just looked back ignoring the question.

"I did what you told me to do. But i don't understand why....."

"It was a test." Ben interupted her. "I needed to find out which one Jacob had chosen."

"I don't understand?" she asked puzzled. "Why in the monitors room did you ask me to pretend i wanted to leave the island? Risk my life for some bloody test?"

"Because your good actress Sophie. You convinced me that you were pregnant." Ben looked at her still hurting to what she had done. "I sent you to do that, because i knew Jacob would stop them. I needed to know if he would stop you too!"

"You mean kill me like them?" she asked.

"Yes...."

Sophie looked away from Ben. "But he didn't Sophie..."

"He told me to come and save you Ben" she said trying to hold back her tears.

"You can hear him?" he asked. Sophie nodded. "What? how long?"

"A while now. Richard knew..."

"Why didn't you tell me?" he asked

"Because you too distracted by her!" she said pointing to the hallway where Mel would be. "You need to decide who you want Ben. Me or her?" she asked. Getting up away from him.

"Sophie what does he say to you?" he asked.

"Help me....." as she went out the room. she went further down the hallway finding another common room. She went in there alone.

Sophie looked up seeing ben standing at the door frame. Sophie jumped up and rushed over to him.

"Ben you shouldn't be wandering about. You need to rest." as she took him to one of the sofas.

"I was looking for you" he replied. He looked up to her and started to chuckle, "With certainly been through a lot the last few months."

Sophie smiled back, "I never had so much drama and complications like this since i came here." she said back in a joking way.

Ben looked at her seriously "I'm sorry for everything..." he mumbled. "I want us to start over." he took her hands into his. "From the beginning....."

"Not until you explain the whole thing. Why i am here..."

"Ok" Ben interupted her. "You were brought here for me. When i'm gone i need someone to take over from me. My child!"

"What about Alex?" she asked.

"You know Alex isn't mine, and our relationship. Well it's not exaclty good. As much as i love her, she will never be mine."

"But i can't have children.." Sophie said

"I know. Then there was Mel she lost Ethan and she had William." he looked at Sophie. "I went for the easy option and i'm sorry.- But now i know Jacob has chosen you. You must be very important to him. If you can hear him. Thats why i believe you will have a child, and it will be with me...." There was an awkard silence between them then ben carried on. "Please forgive me. I promise, no more games. No more Mel. Just us.....Thats what you want don't you? he asked.

Sophie sat there and the smiled and nodded argeeingly. "But Richard..."

"I think Richard and I know you only done it to get at me..... and it worked." Sophie chuckled, as Ben opened up his arms. "Come here" he said. Sophie cuddle up to him on the sofa.

This was the beginning of thier new chapter together......

Zoe had spent her company with Hurley and Luke, he has begun to wake up, but his sudden movements to wake sent him straight back into sleep again. He was drained. What had Ben done to him?

Zoe sighed as she got up. "I'll be back in a minute Hurley." She said to him and left the room. She walked down the corridor, and peered through the door window that lead into the room that Ben and Sophie were in. She knocked to let her precense be known before she entered.

"Hi." She greeted straight faced as she walked over to them. "Er...Sophie...I was wondering if...perhaps...could I just have a word with Ben?" Sophie glanced between her and Ben.

"Don't worry - I'm not going to do anything, there's just something I need to ask." Zoe replied seeing the look on Sophie's face. Sophie nodded.

"Okay, I'll just be outside the door." She replied and walked out the room. Zoe gave her a thankful look and turned to face Ben, staying where she stood.

"Alright Zoe, what is it?" Ben asked calmly.

"My situation - with being pregnant. I - I need some help." Zoe started to explain.

"Why, what's wrong?" Ben asked.

"When Mel was miscarriaging - well. She couldn't have been far pregnant when she was - yet, the baby stil survived. I need to know. Is it possible for my baby to grow out of me - out of my womb?" Zoe asked. Ben stared at her for a moment with a quizzical look.

"Why do you ask?" Ben asked.

"We don't know how long we are going to be fighting the dharma people. I want my baby to be safe. But I can't sit here and let everyone fight, and me do nothing. I need to be out there to defend this island, like you need us to. I can't sit still and watch. I need to be there to help. Besides, what if they catch me again - and hurt me. Then I loose the baby? The last part of me that has a part of Charlie - gone forever. I can't live with that. So I need to know Ben. Can it be done?" Zoe explained.

"You know, you've done enough Zoe. You planned you secret attack when the Dharma people gave us an ambush very well, and you have helped rid of so many of them. You don't need to help anymore, we can handle it now." Ben argued calmly.

"But I want to. I need to. I have to do this Ben. Like I you said before. This is my fault. So this is my mess. I need to help clear it up." Zoe replied stubbornly. Ben opened his mouth to argue, but shut it again.

He didn't answer her straight away. He stood up and paced the room for a moment, thinking deeply. After some minutes went by, he looked up at her.

"You know, I don't really blame you for how they got here. It was going to happen sooner or later. But I suppose what you are suggesting is going to be in the best interest for your baby." Ben began to reply slowly. "Yes Zoe, it is possible to do as you ask. We will need Juliet's assistance of course. I'll radio her and see how she is doing." Zoe smiled at Ben.

"Thank you Ben. I can almost forgive you for what you have done to me." She smiled. and gave him a brief hug before she left the room. She nodded at Sophie who smiled weakly back at her and returned to Ben's room while Zoe walked down the corridor, back to Hurley and Luke.

Oh my god Mel!

Zoe sat next to Luke, holding his hand. He began to stir again, Zoe sat to attention, getting butterflies in her stomache.

"Luke?" She whispered. Luke's eyes flickered opened, and he squinted from the light, having not been used to it.

"W-w-where am I?" He asked grogily. "Who are you?" Zoe felt a tear slide down her cheek.

"It's me Luke. Your sister." Zoe replied. Luke sat up slowly.

"That - that can't be right. You're - you're dead." He said, looking at the floor, his face going white as if he had just seen a ghost. He looked into Zoe's eyes.

"It really is you. I don't understand. How?" He asked. Zoe smiled weakly.

"Yeah, it's me." She replied softly. "I would like to understand too. Why did you think I was dead?"

"Our parents. They told me - that our biological parents - and you. That you had all died in an accident. I was the only one who survived." Luke explained. Zoe shook her head at him.

"They're wrong. Your father - I don't know who he is, where he is, if he even still exists. But our mother - well, she is dead." Zoe explained to him, before adding grimly. "My father is here. But I disowned him a long time ago. Luke - we were both brought up into foster care - but seperarted. I don't know why, I've never been able to understand why. But as soon as I turned 18, I began searching for you." Zoe explained.

"It must have been a stressful search. Did you remain in England?" Luke asked, with sadness in his eyes.

"Yes. We moved to the Lake District." Zoe replied.

"I moved to China - Hong Kong." Luke said. Zoe looked at him shocked.

"How did Ben find you?" Zoe asked.

"Ben? Who's Ben?" Luke asked with a preplexed expression.

"Well - how did you get here?" Zoe continued.

"I don't know." Luke replied truthfullly. "I - I was at home. My wife was at work. Oh my god, my wife!"

"You're married?"

"Yes. I have a daughter too." Luke answered, begining to panic. "Oh my god, my daughter! Are they here?"

"I don't know. You'll have to ask Ben." Zoe replied shaking her head. Luke looked at her.

"What about you? You must be - 22 now?" He asked.

"23. I'm a vetenarian. I'm not married." Zoe told him and looked up into his eyes. "I am pregnant though."

"You don't look it." Luke replied, looking her up and down.

"I've only known for about a week." Zoe replied.

"You're a bit young aren't you?" Luke said to her, raising an eyebrow.

"Well - it wasn't exactly planned. It's a long story. Perhaps we should go and see Ben?" Zoe suggested.

"Ben? Who is Ben, you mentioned his name less then five minutes ago." Luke asked.

"Ben is the man who brought you here." Zoe replied standing up. "Seems like he has more questions to answer for. Are you alright to get up, or do you need a hand?"

"I'm fine - thanks." Luke replied, then he noticed someone sitting near him, Zoe noticing too.

"Sorry - how rude of me. Luke - this is a good friend of mine. Hurley. Hurley - Luke." Hurley smiled, Luke returning it with a nervous smile.

"Come on, follow me." Zoe said, taking Luke's hand and leading him to where Ben and Sophie were.

Zoe showed up with Luke. Sophie thought it was best that she left them too it with Ben.

"I'm gonna get some air.." she said.

Leaving the room Sophie headed outside.

Ethan held on tightly to Mel's hand as they walked back down into the hatch. It seemed that both of them were afraid to lose each other again.

As they walked towards the room they were in earlier they heard shouts coming from inside. Every so often they would hear Ben's calm voice replying. They decided to leave them alone and went on to find William.

A few rooms down they found Hurley sitting with William in his lap. Hurley was making silly faces at William and he was laughing and clapping his hands together.

"He likes you Hurley." Mel said walking into the room with Ethan behind her.

"Oh, hey." Hurley said.

"Thank you for looking after him." She said as Hurley handed William to her.

"No problem." he said as he made to leave.

"Hey Hurley?" Ethan said as he was moving closer to Mel and his son.

"Yeah, dude?" he asked turning around.

"Don't go outside." Ethan warned, "They're still out there."

Juliet had soon arrived after Zoe stepped into the corridor. Zoe smiled.

"Hello Juliet." She smiled at her.

"Hey. I suppose I better lead the way then?" Juliet said to her. Zoe nodded and followed her. They arrived in a opertating room. Zoe sat on the table while Juliet set up.

"This will only take twenty minutes." She said to her. "So you are only going to be under general for thirty minutes, okay?"

"Okay."

"Let's get this done then..."

Zoe woke up, her eyes flickered, and struggled for a little while to come into focus. Juliet was sat beside her.

"How did it go?" She asked. Juliet smiled at her.

"We were successful." She replied.

"Great, I can get back to Luke then! Where - where are you keeping my baby?" Zoe asked.

"Your baby is fine." Juliet walked over to a machine - it looked like half a fridge half a cooker. Something Zoe had never seen before. "They are in here."

"They?" Zoe asked confused. Juliet's smile widened.

"Twins." She smiled brightly. "A boy and a girl." Zoe was in shock, she didn't know what to say. She shook her head, she was getting distracted.

"We should probably get back to Ben and Luke." Zoe pressed on, and left the room, Juliet following her. They saw Mel and Ethan enter into the room where Hurley and William were just as they entered the corridor and walked along it towards the room where Ben and Luke were.
