"She's going to find out sooner or later." Zoe said to Locke when Ben and Mel walked away. Locke nodded in agreement.
"Well, for now, that has bought us some time." Locke replied. "Do you mind if we go and get a drink and something to eat?" Zoe nodded and they both walked back to the house where Zoe had first lived in when she started living in the village. She opened the door, noticing three envelopes on the floor addressed to her. She picked them up and walked into the kitchen, placing them on the counter.
Zoe went to the fridge and handed Locke a bottle of water and some bread with ham to make himself his own sandwhiches. Zoe then returned to the counter where she had placed the envelopes addressed to her. She opened the first, holding a glass of water and sipping from it gently. She unfolded the peice of paper inside and began to read, suddenly dropping her glass, allowing it to smash on the kitchen floor, her hand trembling as on the paper, written in blood.

The silence in Ben's house was full of tension. Ben and Sophie hadn't said a word to one another.
Mel tried to read her book and fade into the background but she couldn't stand it any longer.
"For crying out loud will the two of you go talk to each other?" she said loudly.
Sophie just glared at her and wallked away into Ben's room. Nearly slamming the door behind her.
Ben looked at Mel. "Go." she told him.
"Don't leave this house." he ordered her.
"Yeah, yeah." she said and waved him down the hall.

Locke looked up at the sound of the glass smashing on the floor, Zoe's face colour had drained, she was very white, as if she had seen a ghost, and she was staring forbodingly at the peice of paper. Locke got up from where he sat and looked over Zoe's shoulder at the message.
"Don't worry about it." He said reassuringly. "Someone is just trying to play a prank on you." Zoe shook her head disbelievingly and opened the other two letters, both written in blood, repeating what each one said, but with a little more info.
The second one read
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID. I AM GOING TO TELL [i/]
The third
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID. I AM GOING TO TELL. EVERYONE WILL KNOW, MEL WILL KNOW, AND YOU WILL BECOME AN OUTCAST
Zoe was shaking with fear now.
"What do I do?" She asked Locke panically. John placed his arms on Zoe's shoulders.
"We wait to find out what this person wants." John said to her camly. "Don't worry, they aren't going to tell, they are just using this as leverage to get what they want. Let's just wait for the next one, okay?" Zoe nodded, still shaking.
"I think you better go lie down. You've had a stressful couple of days. It isn't healthy." Locke advised. "Don't worry about these, I'll look after them, disclose them, and make sure that they are only available for mine and your eyes to see." Zoe nodded again, and made her way into her bedroom, lying down on her bed in silence, rocking herself gently to sleep, shivering furiously.

Mel could here Ben and Sophie's voices coming from their bedroom. They were talking quite loud, possibly arguing, but she couldn't make out what they were saying.
She tried to tune them out and concentrate on her book but was stopped by a soft knock on the door.
She opened it and found Jack.
"Hi Jack." she smiled.
"Hey Mel. I heard you were back and wanted to check on your gun shot wound."
Mel lifted up her shirt to show Jack her healed wound, "Amazing, right? From what I hear you and Ethan did an amazing job fixing me up. Thank you for that."
"You're welcome. Is Ben here?"
Mel glanced down the hallway, "He's busy right now. Come on, lets sit on the porch."
"The porch?" Jack asked.
"Yeah." Mel said. "I'm not allowed to leave the house."
"Really? Why is that?"
Mel rolled her eyes, "It's a long story."

Mel sat down on the porch with Jack talking away. When she saw Richard came along. He completely blanked them and barged into Bens house. Slamming the door behind them. Jack turned to Mel both giving each other funny looks.
Ben heard the door slam and came out the bedroom. To find Richard standing in the living room. He looked around seeing Mel had gone.
"Where is she?" asked Ben
"Don't worry. Shes outside!" Richard snapped back.
"Whats going on with you Richard!" Ben asked.
"Don't you care for Sophie! For god sake Ben shes in love with you. Even pregnant and you were still gonna let Mel take her away from you. Kill both of them!"
"It was Jacob wanted." Ben replied. "Beside Mel never went through it."
"It was a test Ben! Jacob was testing you and yet you did nothing!" Richard said. "She doesn't desvere you!" he said angry.
Ben started to chuckled. "Oh i see where this is going. You have feelings for Sophie. I'm sorry but she doesn't want you."
"And you don't want her!"
"I do." Ben replied firmly
"You can't have both Ben!"
Sophie came out the bedroom hearing them argue. "Stoppit just stoppit!" she screamed trying to hold her tears. Both men looking at her. Ben turned back to Richard.
"Tell her why your so concerned for her Richard!" Ben sniped.
"Because she carrying my child!" Richard shouted back. Then stood there realising what he had just said. In Shock he turned to Sophie. Tears went down her cheeks. Her heart skipped a beat when he said it. She went really pale. Ben looked around at Sophie.
"What is he talking about Sophie?"
Sophie couldn't say anything just stood there tremberling in fear. "Sophie......I'm.....Sorry it slipped out" Richard mumbled.
"Sophie?" Ben asked again.
Sophie pushed by them both and ran out the house. Out into the village. Ben glared at Richard and ran after her.
"Sophie!" he shouted. Going after her. Mel and Jack watched as they saw Sophie ran off and Ben following soon after.
"Ben whats going on?" Mel asked. But Ben just rushed by.

Sophie was sitting under a tree in the jungle. Her arms wrapped around her knee as she rocked herself crying. Ben heard her. Finding her.
"Sophie?" he said in calmful tone. Kneeling down infront of her. Sophie looked up. "Is it true?" he asked.
Sophie nodded "I'm so sorry Ben. I tried to tell you."
Ben thought back from earlier when Sophie was in the kitchen and he rushed off. "I know...." he mumbled.
"I wish it was yours." she cried. As Ben held her close to him.
"It explains a few things now. What with Jacob, Richards odd behaviour and you being very quite."
"I'm so sorry." she cried.
Ben sat there with her. As he held for a few moments to get her to calm down.
"I told you i will hurt you." she said. "I understand if you don't want to know me anymore." Ben kissed her forehead and smiled.
"Of course i do Sophie."
"Really?" she asked a little surprised.
"As far as im concerned i will still be the childs father."

"What's up with them?" Jack asked as Ben, Sophie and Richard stormed away from the house.
"Want to guess?" Mel laughed.
"Sophie's baby?"
"Bingo. This island is never lacking in the drama department."
"I've learned that." Jack nodded.
"Hey, you haven't seen Ethan around have you?" Mel said, turning to look at him.
"Not since we stitched you up, why?"
"He is missing. I know something has happened to him."
"How do you know that?"
"Ben is lying to me about it. That's enough. But on top of that Zoe was acting kind of funny too."
"Well, this wouldn't be to first time that Ben has lied about something."
"True."
"Do you want some help looking for him?" Jack asked standing up.
"You don't mind?"
"Not at all."
"Great, thank you!"
"Of coure. I'll meet you at the tree line in about twenty minutes."

Sophie and Ben were still in the jungle. They sat there and actully spoke about a few things. Making both of them feel a whole lot better.
"We should get back." said Ben as he helped Sophie up and they strolled back to the village.
Ben wrapped an arm around her as they got to the village. He spotted Richard in the distance and gave him a smirk as they headed back home.

Returning home Ben realised Mel had gone. "Where is she?" he said to himself. "Mel?" he shouted looking around each room in the house. "Shes gone." he started to head out the door.
"Ben just leave her."
"I can't." he said before leaving the house.
Sophie sighed as she slumped on the sofa. "Here we go again" as she rolled her eyes.
Seeing Ben coming out the house Richard went to Sophie.

"Mel!" Ben shouted when he saw Mel about to walk into the jungle with Jack.
"Shoot." Mel said as she turned around, "Almost made it."
"What are you doing? I asked you to stay in the house." Ben said as he caught up to them.
"No, you told me to stay. I never was very good at following your orders."
Ben looked at Jack, "Where were you taking her?"
"I wasn't taking her anywhere. I told her I would help her look for Ethan."
"No. That's out of the question." Ben said as he looked back at Mel. "You're not going out into the jungle again."
"Ben, I need to find him. Why can't you let me look for him?" Mel pleaded.
Ben didn't answer her, he looked down at the ground.
"Are you keeping me here because you want me to stay away from Ethan. Is this some kind of jealousy thing?"
"Of course not." Ben answered. "Why would I be jealous of Ethan?"
"Because he has Mel and you don't." Jack chimed.
Mel could see the answer to that in Ben's eyes and she was worried it was the truth so she covered with, "Jack, Ben doesn't want me anymore. He has Sophie."
Jack just quirked an eyebrow and looked between them.
"Look, I'm leaving right now. I'm sorry Ben but you're going to have to deal with that." Mel said as she turned and started walking again.
"You won't like what you find!" Ben called. "If you find anything at all."
Mel froze and slowly faced Ben, "What did you say?"
Ben shrugged guiltily, "Not so long ago you told me you knew me better than anyone else on this island. I think you're right about that Mel. So how can you not know what I mean when I say that you will not like what you find if you go looking for Ethan?"
"Tell me you didn't do it Ben." Mel whispered as tears came to her eyes. "Tell me you didn't kill him."
Ben walked to where Mel was standing, he was only inches from her. "I didn't kill Ethan."
"But that doesn't mean he's alive, does it?"
Ben wrapped his arms around Mel and held her tightly, anticipating what was to come. "No, it doesn't mean he is alive."
Mel collapsed in Ben's arms as her tears broke through. "Why?" she cried, "Tell me why."
Ben's voice was faint, "He took William. He stole our son from us. I wasn't going to give him the chance to take you away too. Mel, I care about you too much for you to be hurt any longer."
Mel looked up into his face, "Then why do you keep hurting me?" she asked helplessly."
Ben kissed her forehead, "I'm sorry Mel."
Mel broke down again at his words as Ben lead her to her house. He'd already taken Ethan away from her once, now he had done it again. It seemed she was truly meant to be alone on this island.

"Soph?" Richard asked as he peered through the door. She sat there looking on the sofa as he came. "I'm soo sorry. I didn't mean to come out with. I was just angry with him."
"Richard it's fine. I'm glad its out." she smiled. "Ya know the whole thing with Mel you didn't have to do that for me."
"Well Ben was doing anything. I didn't want to take the risk of loosing you or the little one"
Sophie sat there smiling. Then Ben came in and with a tearful Mel.
"I'll leave you too it" said Richard.

Ben took Mel straight into the guest room and laid her on the bed.
"Can I get you anything?" he asked.
"Just leave please." Mel said as she turned her back to him and the door.
Ben sighed and left the room, closing the door behind him. He went into the living room and saw Sophie looking at him expectantly.

"I can't do this!"
"Sorry?" Ben asked as he walked in the living room.
"Us....You, me.....Her! I'm tired of having to fight for you Ben. You always go running after her. I'm not happy no more Ben. "
"No Sophie please just sit down and lets talk."
"No Ben! We need to have time out. We both know that." Ben nodded agreeingly. As he went over to her for a hug.
"I love you Sophie."
"I know..." she said trying to hold the tears. "But we just not meant to be." moving away from Ben and letting go. She left the house and headed for her home.

Zoe woke up and had a shower, never been more greatful to feel so refreshed. She put a change of clothes on and went into the living area, where Locke was reading.
"Have there been any more letters?" Zoe asked him. Locke looked up from his book and shook his head.
"Maybe I should go talk to Ben about it..." Zoe said absent mindedly.
"Perhaps." Locke replied vaguley.
"I;ll be right back." Zoe stated and left the house, and headed straight for Ben's. She knocked on the door, and Ben let her inside.
"You look like you are on death's doorstep." Ben said to her. "Are you okay?"
"No, not really." Zoe admitted. "Ben, someone knows what I've done. They've been sending me threatening messages! They threatened to tell Mel what I've done!" Zoe took out one of the letters and gave it to Ben.
"Hush. She's in the guest room, she might hear you." Ben replied calmly, taking one of the letters and glancing at it briefly. "Besides she already knows." Zoe stared at him opened mouthed.
"How?" She asked shocked.
"I kind of told her." Ben replied truthfully.
"You did what!?" Zoe replied in disbelief.
"Keep your voice down." Ben replied still calmly. "She doesn't know it was you."
"Yeah, well it's only a matter of time, isn't it!" Zoe snapped, and stormed out the house, slamming the door behind her.

Mel heard Ben arguing with Sophie and then with Zoe in the other room. Before, she might have been curious as to what they were fighting about. But now, she couldn't care less.
She felt herself slipping into a deep depression, one she didn't think she could recover from.
She pulled the blanket tighter around her body and squeezed her eyes shut trying to block out all of her thoughts and fall asleep.
