Oooooh, this is getting interesting!
Zoe was pacing in the pantry, not yet having picked some food for Henry. She was shaking with anger at how he was being treated.
*BANG* went the door to the armory. Zoe rushed out of the pantry, and an ugly scene began to take place. "Sayid, hey, what the hell are you doing? Sayid! Sayid!" Jack shouted, pounding on the armory door. "What's going on?" Zoe asked, Locke and Jack glancing at her before back at the door. Jack continued to try and open the door. Locke stepped back and leant against the wall. "Damn it. Sayid, open the door! Sayid, answer me!" Jack shouted furiously. He turned to Locke. "Why isn't this combination working, John? Did you change it?" "Yeah." Locke replied. Zoe glared at Locke and stepped further into the room. "Why would you do that?" Jack asked accusingly. "You're raising an army." Locke replied simply. Zoe frowned glancing between Locke and Jack. "What?" Jack asked puzzled. "And why you didn't ask me to help -- well, that's your business -- but there's only one reason to raise an army, Jack. And that's because we're at war. And like it or not, whatever Sayid has to do behind that door -- that's a part of it, too." John explained. Zoe rolled her eyes. So this was what it was all about. Playground tiffs. "What if he's telling the truth, John?" Jack asked placing his hands on his hips. "What if he's not?" John asked, raising an eyebrow mockingly before turning to leave. Zoe stepped closer to them both. "Hey, I have had it up to here with you two and your stupid little playschool fights! Enough! Now you get that door open John Locke. Right now." Zoe told him firmly. "He's just asking questions Zoe. Since Ethan - we just want to be careful." John explained calmly. "There's nothing to worry about." Zoe scoffed but said nothing more and sat down on the sofa, scowling at both Jack and John childs play. Jack began to clear up from where he had cleared up Ben's wound. "Do you want some help?" John offered, but Jack didn't respond. "Jack, I know this isn't-" "Shut up." Jack interrupted flatly, washing up some of the equipment in the sink. Zoe noticed that Jack had noticed something was missing. She got up and walked over to him. "What is it?" She asked curiously. "Where are the pliers?" Jack asked, glancing back at John, before looking at the armory door. Zoe then looked at John, shaking her head with disappointment. Jack stormed over to the door and banged harder and louder, shouting at Sayid through the door. Zoe folded her arms, knowing that it was no use, Sayid would never open it for him. "Jack-" Locke began but Jack cut him off, and stormed over to Locke, getting right in his face. "Open it. Open it now John." Jack demmanded. "Jack, this has to happen." Locke replied calmly. "For goodness sakes John, just open it!" Zoe shouted at him. "You are going to cause more trouble if you hurt that man then if you don't. Open the door John." John didn't respond. Jack grabbed John by the scruff of the neck and pushed him hard against the wall, pinning him to it. "Open that damn door, you understand me! You open it now." Jack ordered. "No." John replied flatly as the countdown to pushing the timer began. "Now John!" Jack insisted. Zoe stood and waiting, listening to the countdown beeps, counting herself with how long they had left before the button needed to be pushed. The tension in the atmospher was rising, particuarly when the sound of the timer became more insistant. "The door." Jack said simply in a firm tone. "Let go of me, Jack." Locke replied. "Or what? You want to push the button? Open the door." Jack insisted. Jack turned to glance at the timer before glaring back at John, still pinning him to the wall. Zoe stood and watched, waiting. "It's under a minute now, John. You better think fast." "You wouldn't" Locke replied. "What? I wouldn't what?" Jack challenged. "Zoe - will you get that?" John hollered. "No." Zoe replied simply. "Zoe-" Locke began to protest. "Don't tell me what to do John. I'm not that kind of person. I don't need a Ghandi." Zoe interrupted. "That button has to be pushed! If we don't -- you would risk everyone's lives?" Locke asked. " You talked me into pushing that button once, John, but it's yours now. You're the one who won't risk it, you. Me? I don't think anything's going to happen when we get down to zero." Jack explained. "Jack-" "You want to see what's going to happen? Let's just see what's going to happen!" Jack shouted. "Okay! Okay!" Lock replied defeated. "Okay." Jack finished. "Okay, right 15, left... " John began "You think I'm stupid; you open it!" Jack shouted, pointing at the door. Locke jumped right too it, Jack and Zoe edged near the door and waited for the door to spring open. John was quick, and then he dashed over to the computer to enter the numbers. Jack wrenched the armory door open, and began to tackle Sayid. "Jack let go! He's lying!" Sayid shouted, throwing Jack off of him. Zoe intervened, succesfully throwing Sayid off of beating Ben. She was quick, it had caught them all by suprise. She pinned Sayid to the ground. "What are you doing?! I am trying to get the truth! He's lying! I know it!" Sayid protested, trying to throw Zoe off, but she was too strong. "Even if he is - this is not the way." She replied calmly. Jack now stood in the way of the door. Sayid continued to struggle. "If I let you go - will you walk away?" Sayid glared at her for a moment, thinking. He then sighed heavily. "Fine." He replied finally. Zoe let go and they both stood up. "What the hell was that?" Jack asked sharply to Sayid. "He's one of them." Sayid replied simply. "Yeah? Did he tell you that?" Jack asked. Zoe ignored any further to the conversation and went into the armory to confront Ben. "I'm sorry he did this to you Henry." She said calmly to him. "If I had known before what he was going to do - I would have stopped it sooner." Ben nodded and he looked her in the eyes. "W-w-what are they on about...with...with these others?" He asked timidly. Zoe explained briefly what she thought had happened to her, and what Ethan had done to Charlie and Claire. Ben looked rather shocked. Particuarly about Ethan trying to kill Charlie. Zoe tilted her head to one side. "I can't help but think I recognise you from somewhere." Zoe commented. Ben looked up from the floor, Zoe noticed his eyes widen. "Yeah. People seem to generally think I have a recogniseable face." He replied quietly. Zoe touched him on the shoulder. "Look - um, I'm going to get those cuts cleaned up - and I'm going to bring you some food. Okay?" Ben nodded. Zoe got up and left the armory, leaving the door open. Jack was stood in the kitchen alone. "Where did Sayid go?" She asked. "He left." Jack replied simply. "Oh." Zoe said before heading to the pantry again. "Hey - er - where did you learn that?" Jack asked curiously. Zoe turned round to face him. "Sorry?" She asked. "The moves you used on Sayid. Where did you learn that?" He continued. "Oh - er, back at home, I learn kung fu - got as far as brown belt before I crashed here." Zoe replied. Jack nodded. "Ah okay - so how good is brown belt?" He asked.. "Just one below black." Zoe replied, smiling before she walked into the pantry and selected some food for Ben. She returned to the armory with food and a bowl of warm water and anticeptic and cleared Ben up. She kept on aplogising every time he winced, and for what Sayid had done for him. "You don't have to keep apologising. It wasn't your fault." He said kindly. "I know...it's just...them lot. The guys especially. Always fighting for leadership, it really bugs me. I mean, can't people let people get on with it and decide for themselves what to do? And come to agreements instead of going behind each others back? All the secrecy that happens too." Zoe and Ben continued their chat for a fair few hours, she had failed the protest against keeping Ben locked up, but managed to con her way into 'interrogating' him, but instead sat down with him and chatted, telling him everything about the plane crash, and the survivors......................

Ok Soph, sorry for this, but you started it! ;D And I know Mel may seem a little mean right now, but it's for a good reason.
Mel found Danny and told him to take her back to the village. Once he saw the look on her face he decided not to question her and they left right away.
Mel walked quickly across the courtyard and didn't stop until she was at Sophie's front door. She banged on it loudly.
After a few moments Sophie opened the door, "What do you want?" she asked with hostility.
Mel didn't answer her, she pulled her arm back and punched her in the face.
Sophie staggered back into the house and Mel followed. That was all that Sophie needed. She charged Mel and they resumed their fight from earlier. This time there was no one around to stop them. They kicked and punched and threw each other around the living room and kitchen.
Finally Mel pinned Sophie to the wall and wrapped her hand around her throat. "That's enough!"
Sophie stopped fighting her as Mel tightened her grip.
"You silly girl." Mel began. "Don't you understand? He may have feelings for you but it will never work out. You're too weak for him."
"You're wrong." Sophie managed to choke out.
"Am I?" Mel mocked. "You're the reason he was captured by those people in the first place. Don't you remember what they did to Ethan? What do you think they will do to Ben if they find out he was the one giving Ethan orders?"
"It's not my fault."
"But you feel the guilt for it all the same. Just think of how miserable you will be if they kill Ben too."
"Don't say that! Ben will be okay."
"You're so naieve. Ben may be a skilled liar but he won't be able to hold them off forever."
"Let me go." Sophie pleaded which caused Mel to hold her throat even tighter.
"I've already lost Ethan. I'll be damned if I'm going to go through that again. You're on your own here Sophie. If I were you I would forget about Ben coming back to you." she said as she released her.
Sophie fell to the floor, "He doesn't even love you! He told me!"
Mel smirked, "This has nothing to do with love."
"Then why? Why you?"
"I think you know why." Mel said looking down on Sophie. She looked like she had been badly beaten. Mel caught her reflection in the mirror and found she looked the same way.
"Goodbye Sophie." said Mel and walked out of the house without looking back.
Mel strode across the courtyard. She passed a number of people but ignored them all. When she reached the edge of the village she kept on walking right into the jungle.
The first phase of her mission from Ben was complete. It was time to begin phase two.

so ben wanted mel to fight her? oooooo interesting. rofl aww i don't mind LOL were like kate and juliet ROFL. Sophie gasped for air as Mel let go off her grip, Sophie fell to the floor. "Goodbye Sophie" Mel said walking out the house. Sophie sat there, the words "He may have feelings for you but it will never work out. You're too weak for him." were repeating in her mind. Sophie got up and headed for the bathroom, she cleaned up her bloody face when Richard came in. "Sophie?" he asked looking around seeing the mess the two girls had just caused. Sophie came out the bathroom and looked over to Richard. "What happened here?" he asked "Mel just visited me" Richard rolled his eyes. "I don't think Ben realise how lucky he is, having you two fight over him" Sophie smiled "Knowing him he probally would want us too" "Sophie i wanted to show you something. Care to take a walk with me?" he asked. Sophie looked at him, hoping he would hint a bit more. She nodded. "Good get some water and other things you may need, we're going into the jungle." he said. Sophie quickly packed a canteen of water. A hoodie incase it got cooler later, into a backpack. "Lets go" she said moving over to him. ..................................................................................... "Can we stop to rest Richard, i'm tired" Sophie pleaded. "No, it's not much further." he chuckled. "And where exactly are we going?" she asked. "Well we're here." Sophie looked around she they were just surrounded around jungle. A old plane was on the floor. She went over to investigate, she screamed when she saw skeletons. "Is this what you drag me out to see? a plane with dead bodies?" "No....." Richard bent down brushing away the mud on the floor. reaveling hatch doors. "Whats this?" she asked curious going over to help him. "Help me open it up will you." as he grabbed one door handle. Sophie took the other. "Be careful there heavy." As richard yanked opened his. Sophie pulled her door. Both of them looking down the dark hole. Sophie looked up at Richard, "And you expect me to climb down that?" Richard nodded. ............................................ "What is this place?" Sophie asked. "It's an old abandoned station, a group of people called Dharma use to use it, but thats a long time ago now....." Richard flicked a switch to turn the lights on. Sophie looked as she saw to chairs in the middle of the room, and a huge monitor full of screens. "You can rest now" Richard said as he went over to the screens. Sophie slumped down on one of the chairs, as she pulled out her canteen and drank from it. Richard turned one of the monitors on, twisting one of the knobs, like he was searching for a channel. When something popped on the screen. It was two men standing at the sink. Look like they were talking. "What is this?" Sophie asked. "Just watch" said Richard who sat down in the other chair. Sophie kept watching the two men who looked like they were having a disagreement. One was quite a handsome man, he had a few tattoos on his arm. The other was a bald man, Sophie noticed he was carrying a knife on his trousers. Then a woman walked up towards them. Sophie recgonised her. "ZOE!" as she jumped up looking at the screens. She turned to look at Richard. Then back to the screens. "They are the passengers of flight 815, they found one of the hatches, some of us have been watching for a few weeks, keeping on eye." "So why am i here?" Sophie asked, still looking at the screen. But then she noticed the bald man go up to a door. He was unlocking it and went in. Sophie looked over to Zoe and the tattoo man. They were just chatting. The bald man came back out the door, holding someone with him. Sophie realised who it was. "Ben!" she touched the screen stroking it as Ben and the bald man walked by on the screen. He looked terrible, badly beaten. Like her. She turned to look at Richard. "If we know where he is, then why aren't we going after him?" she asked. "Because Ben doesn't want that, he knows what he's doing." "LOOK AT HIM! He's in pain. He needs us." "He will be fine. I just wanted to show you. C'mon lets go back" Richard said just about to turn the screen off. "No!" Sophie exclaimed. "I want to watch more please," "Ok....Ok." said Richard sitting back down, "Just tell me when your ready to leave"

Zoe smiled to herself behind the book she was reading. She refused to leave the hatch since Ben's arrival - she didn't trust Locke, Sayid, Ana Lucia etc interrogating him. She was going to stick around to prevent anything like that happening. Again, one of them were trying to ask him questions, but it was useless. Ben wasn't giving them. Yet, when Zoe went to talk to him, he would talk. Okay, he had not revealed anything, but she was cool with that. She had a thing for seeing good in people, and she could see whoever this guy, named Henry or not - he wasn't bad.
Earlier, she had caught Sayid talking to Charlie.
"...the others - Jack and Locke. They have forgotten that one of them tried to kill you, that they kidnapped Claire and did god-knows-what to her in those days she was missing. Have you forgotten that Charlie?" Sayid had asked him. This had made Zoe angry. She had burst out on them to confront Sayid.
"Have you forgotte, Sayid, that you once told Charlie not to make things personal?" She asked angrily. Sayid didn't reply and simply left. Zoe glared at Charlie with a soften expression.
"I'm going to be in the hatch." She told him and left to go back to where she was now. She had got through about two chapters of the book she was reading before Ana Lucia came out of the armory without saying anything. Zoe swiftly put down her book and went inside herself.
"More visitors?" Ben asked lightly. "Well, a more pleasant one at least." Zoe smiled weakly. "Yes, well, I have different ethics to most - like innocent until proven guilty. I don't even agree with them keeping you in here. Look, I would sneak you out of here if I could, but they are always twoing and froing from this hatch. I can let you out though. Do you want some lunch?"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ben and Zoe sat at the kitchen table, Ben greatfully having a sandwhich. He glanced around the station.
"So what is this place?" He asked curiously. Zoe leant back against her chair, she wasn't eating anything as she didn't feel hungry.
"It's some kind of station. I'm not really sure. Locke is convinced we have to push this button every 108 minutes or the apocolypse is neigh." Zoe explained briefly. Ben looked back at her, mildly interested and took another bite.
"So is anyone else here right now?" He asked.
"No, just you and me. Jack will be back soon though. His shift for the button is in about an hour." Zoe explained.
"Ah okay. In that case, I can explain. Do you remember Zoe, when you said you recognised me?" Ben asked. Zoe nodded.
"Well, that is because we know each other. We have met before." Ben began to explain. Zoe leant forwards, resting her elbows on the table.
"What? When?" She asked.
"You don't remember, do you?" He asked. Zoe shook her head.
"About a month ago, I bumped my head pretty hard, and since that, all I remembered was preparing to get ready for this flight I was supposed to catch." She replied.
"Oh?"
"Yeah. Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure I wasn't getting a plane called Oceanic. I was flying from home, to go to Portland. I was leaving home actually, cause I was starting this new job." Zoe explained. She looked up at Ben. "Sorry, I'm rambling now. Carry on." Ben paused for a moment, unkown to Zoe that now he finally understood why Zoe hadn't fully recognised him. He wasn't sure before - whether she truely had forgotten, or whether she was playing games. "Zoe, you were going to get that flight to go to this island." Ben said to her. Zoe tilted her head to one side in confusion. "What?" "You were always supposed to come here Zoe. But not to be with these people. To be with my people. Zoe. My name is Benjamin Linus. I have lived on this island all my life." Ben began to explain.

Hang on to your hats gals, things are about to get confusing.
Mel kept on through the jungle. A strength she hadn't known she possesed driving her. In the back of her mind she knew that this is what she had been waiting for. A purpose. Since she had come to the island she hadn't really had something to do, a task of her own. Now she did and she wasn't going to let anything get in her way.
Her body was sore from fighting with Sophie. Ben's folder hadn't said to pinpoint Sophie directly to fight with but he had suggested it. The folder said she needed to look like she had been beaten, possibly even tortured. Mel could have found anyone to spar with but Ben hinted that provoking Sophie may be the easiest way since she didn't like Mel for taking Ben from her.
As usual, Ben had been right. Mel had gotten to take out some of her frustration on Sophie while accomplishing her task at the same time.
Mel shook her head. At first she had liked Sophie. She had even thought Ben to be unkind for casting her aside. But now she was beginning to feel that Sophie was getting what she deserved. Mel was seeing what Ben had been able to see all along. Mel and Ben were best suited for each other because they understood that some things needed to be done, no matter who was hurt in the process.
Mel shook her head as if shaking away those thoughts. How was she sympathizing with Ben? What had happened in the last few weeks to make her agree with his views?
She knew she wasn't in love with him, thank God. She didn't think she could ever trust herself again if that happened. But he was growing on her. Maybe that was the reason she was currently risking her life for him.
***************************************************
As Mel reached her target area she began to run through the trees. She didn't try to avoid any branches in her way, she just let them whip across her face and arms. Many of them cut her.
When she saw the survivors beach she began to scream, "Help!"
She continued to yell for help as she staggered on to the beach.
"Please somebody help me!" she screamed again in terror.
She saw some of the people on the beach turn her direction and she ran towards them. Once they started coming her way she fell to the sand. She continued to crawl towards them as if the devil was chasing her.
Finally two men reached her. She recognized them from Ben's folder. The Iraqi man was Sayid Jarrah and the other was Desmond Hume.
She fell to the sand exhausted and reached up to them, "Please. Help."
"What is your name?" Sayid asked.
"Alice. My name is Alice, please you have to help me."
"Where did you come from?" Sayid pushed.
"Them." she answered shuddering.
"Sayid, we should get her to Jack. She's hurt." Desmond said.
"Don't you think it's curious that we have two mysterious strangers show up within days of each other?"
"You mean the man in the hatch?" Desmond asked.
"Yes, he is one of them."
"Them?" Mel said."They're here? No! No! I can't let them get me again!" She began to scream hysterically.
"Sayid, she's been beaten and tortured. Probably by these Others you're talking about. She's not one of them."
"I don't trust her." Sayid said eyeing Mel.
"Do you trust anyone brotha?" Desmond asked, "I'm taking her Jack before she ends up hurting herself."
"Be cautious." Sayid warned.
Desmond nodded then bent down to Mel. "I'm going to take you to our doctor okay? But I need you to calm down."
"You're not going to take me back to Them?" Mel said quietly.
"No, you'll be safe with me." Desmond smiled.
Mel nodded as Desmond reached his arms under her and picked her up.
"Let's get you to the hatch." he said as Sayid glared at her.
Mel wrapped her arms around his neck to hold on and laid her head on his shoulder. She hid her slight smirk. Who knew she was such a good actress?

Zoe couldn't believe what Ben was telling her. It couldn't be true, it just couldn't.
"That can't be right - the other survivors - they said I was on the plane. I crashed on this island! I didn't come by a sub." Zoe replied.
"I know who you are Zoe. You lived in Oxford. Your dad left before you were born, your mum died from drug overdose. You went into care with your brother were taken in by your unstable Aunt, yet you sill did well in school - you went to college, university. You are a fully qualified and talented vet. You are a very talented person. You, like all the people I bring here, are special. You came here to work for me." Ben explained. Zoe looked at him shocked.
"How do you know all that-" She asked.
"I told you, we already met before. You are one of us Zoe - not a plane crash survivor." Ben continued.
"'Us' - what - you and Ethan?" She asked. Ben nodded. Zoe went into silence, she couldn't believe it.
"So Sayid is right - you are one of them." She replied, feeling anger boiling inside her.
"Yes." Ben answered. Zoe stood up.
"Ethan. He tried to kill Charlie. Charlie Pace. You know him? What did he ever do to you people?" Zoe felt her voice getting louder.
"Granted, Ethan was on a mission - he did what he thought he had to do. He is a dedicated man. I personally wouldn't have done what he did to Charlie, in fact, I rather disapproved of it. If he had done things differently, then I wouldn't be here now. There wouldn't be so much hatered to us. But there is no point in worrying about the 'what if's'. What's done is done. I am glad Jack was able to save Charlie, Zoe, I really am." Ben told her.
Zoe squinted, staring carefully into Ben's eyes to see if there was any truth in what he said. To her, although she couldn't believe it, he was telling the truth.
"Why did you kidnap Claire? What did you want with her baby?" Zoe asked.
"I have no time to explain now Zoe, but I will. As soon as we get out of here." He explained. "You have to trust me." Zoe didn't know how or why, but she did trust him.
"What should I do?" She asked him.
"Just play along - I have a plan." Ben answered simply. "You better put me back in the armory - as you said. Jack will be back soon."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zoe was leant against one of the walls in the main living area when Jack came back. She looked like she was in a trance, she was day dreaming, thinking over what Ben had told her. She stood huddled up one arm wrapped across her stomache, the other she was biting her thumbnail.
"Hey Zoe. You okay?" Jack asked snapping her back to reality. Zoe looked up.
"Oh yea....I'm fine." She replied.
"Has he said anything else?" He asked looking at the armory door.
"Ana Lucia came and asked some questions, but he didn't tell her anything. And no, he hasn't said anything to me, I tried though." Zoe lied smoothly.
"Okay." Jack replied.
"Jack - how long are we going to keep him here? I mean, to be honest - I think he's safe. He's not going to do any harm to us, and even if he did - there are more of us then there are of him. Please Jack - don't keep him locked up in there." Zoe asked.
"Zoe, I don't like doing this anymore then you do - but after Ethan - we just have to be careful." Jack replied. Zoe walked over to him.
"Even if he is one of them - Jack, it doens't mean he is like Ethan. Ethan is one person. An individual. He made that choice alone to try and kill Charlie. He got what he deserved. I'm not denying that. But we can't just make assumptions from the actions of one person. It doesn't mean they are all savages-"
"Hey there Brother." Desmond greeted as he entered with Mel leaning on his shoulder. "This is Alice - we found her on the beach. She says the Others had her - that they tortuted her. Will you help?"
"Not all savages huh?" He asked raising an eyebrow at her and went over to Mel. Zoe followed him to see if she could be of any assistance, still sure that Ben was harmless.

Mel played like she was terribly weak while Jack looked at her injuries.
"What happened?" he asked Desmond.
"She just showed up on the beach yelling for help. Sayid thinks she is one of them, but when he mentioned them she went crazy. Whatever happened, she been through a rough time."
Jack nodded, "Let's get her cleaned up and then we'll talk to her."
As Jack and Desmond left her to grab some supplies Mel notcied Zoe standing a few feet away. Mel glanced at her through her hair. She didn't think Zoe had ever actually seen what she looked like at the village so she figured she wouldn't have to worry about her.
Mel looked around from her spot in the kitchen and saw a large metal door across the room from her. So far she had followed Ben's plans to the letter.
When Zoe saw that Jack and Desmond were coming back she sighed and went to the metal door. Mel watched her enter the combination and pull the door open.
Mel's eyes widened a fraction of a inch when she saw Ben sitting inside. He had been beaten up as well. He looked as bad as she did. Ben looked up as the door opened. His eyes passed Zoe to the room behind her. His eyes stopped when they reached Mel. The slightest smirk crossed his lips.
Jack and Desmond had their backs turned away from her so she raised an eyebrow at Ben. He nodded quickly and Mel nodded back. She could almost feel Ben gloating to himself that his plan was working just as he wanted.
Mel took a deep breath, "No! Him!" she screamed. Rushing out of her chair as it clattered to the floor.
Desmond, Jack, and Zoe turned to see what was wrong. They found her staring at Ben in horror. "He's one of them!" she yelled pointing at Ben.
She looked at Desmond, "You told me I would be safe!"
Desmond came to her side and tried to calm her, "Alice, it's okay. He's tied up, he can't get to you."
"You promised! They'll hurt me again!" Mel pointed again at Ben, "He'll hurt me again!"
Desmond took Mel's hand, "He won't hurt you Alice. I'll protect you."
"You will?" Mel asked.
"Yes. You won't be able to get me to leave your side." he said with a reassuring smile.
Mel looked again at Ben who still sat in the armory. She saw in his eyes that he was impressed and approved of her elaborate performance.
"Zoe, will you shut that door?" Jack asked clearly agitated with Zoe for opening it in the first place.
As Zoe shut the heavy door Desmond turned Mel away from Ben. "Come on Alice. Let's get you into the shower so you can get cleaned up and Jack can stitch up those cuts or yours."
Mel nodded, "Thank you." as she followed Desmond out of the kitchen.

Zoe sighed heavily as she shut the door behind her and crouched down to face Ben.
"What's that all about? Who is she?" Zoe asked him quietly. Ben simply smiled.
"All part of the plan." He replied mysteriously. "You'll see."
"Why can't you tell me?" Zoe asked.
"In case they are listening. Plus I just don't think it is a good idea that everyone knows full details of the entire plan. It can be quite damaging." Ben explained briefly.
"Why are you really here Ben?" Zoe asked. Ben sat up straight.
"What do you mean? They put me in here." Ben asked.
"Don't be coy with me Ben. You got caught on purpose didn't you?" She asked him.
"Well, I admit I did plan on coming here to bring some of them back - eventually. But I didn't intend to be captured there and then." Ben admitted.
"What did you tell Ana Lucia? - She had a determined look on her face." Zoe asked.
"Oh - I told her where to find the real Henry Gale's balloon." Ben replied simply. "Gave her a map, so hopefully she will take Sayid and they will dig up the grave, find the real Henry Gale, which will help tell them I am lying, as well as thanks to Mel and her little charade."
"Why do you want them to know you are lying? Why the games?" Zoe asked.

Desmond and Jack were patient with Mel. They waited until Jack had stitched together all of her cuts and bandaged her bruises. When he was finally done they started asking questions. Mel was ready for them.
"Alice, can you tell us what happened to you?" Desmond asked.
"Okay." she nodded.
"Start at the beginning." Jack said.
"I was on a plane, Oceanic 815, when something happened. The plane began to shake and then it fell."
"You were on Oceanic 815?" Jack asked.
"Yes."
"Where were you sitting?"
"Towards the back."
"She was with the tail section." Jack said the Desmond.
"When the back part of the plane broke off I was sure I was going to die. The last thing I remember is everything going black. Then I woke up in the jungle. I was hurt. I think I had some broken ribs and a deep cut on my thigh. I was too weak to stand so I started calling for help. I thought if I was alive then other people may be as well."
"Did anyone come?" Desmon said.
"Someone heard me. But it wasn't anyone who had crashed on the plane. But I didn't know that then. Two men walked up to where I was laying and looked down at me. When I asked them for help they didn't say anything. Then one pulled out this little box and held it towards me. When he pushed a button on it a little dart shot out and hit me in the neck. It was so painful that I cried out, then blacked out again."
Mel sighed, "When I woke up I was in a dark room tied to a heavy chair. You can see for yourself what they did to me there."
"Why did they torture you?" she heard Desmond ask kindly.
"I'm still not sure. It seemed they were trying to interrogate me but they never asked questions that made any sense. I finally stopped listening to what they said. I knew they were going to beat me anyway."
"What about him?" Jack asked pointing to where Ben sat behind the armory door.
"That man, that bastard, is like their leader. He is the one who gave the orders. He told them to hurt me over and over again until I gave them their answers. He even participated every now and then."
Mel grabbed Jack's hand, "You can never untie him. Never let him go. He's dangerous." she warned.

"Sophie we have to go back now" said richard, after a few hour still watching the monitors. Sophie still glued to the screen. Noticed a scene forming in the hatch, she noticed a girl being help, she looked again. Realising it was Mel.
"What is she doing there?" she screamed looking at richard.
"I,........I dunno" said Richard who was just as shocked too,
"I'm not going anywhere, i wanna watch" she said to Richard.
"Fine, i'm heading back i need to disscuss stuff with the others back at the village, i'll get Tom to come down and be with you. ok?"
Sophie just nodded as she watched the hatch.

"You're still not sure are you?" Ben asked Zoe. She looked up at him. She had been twiddling her fingers, looking down on the floor, still thinking about everything he had told her. "No, I'm not." She replied truthfully. She was then interrupted by Jack wrenching the door open. "Out Zoe." He said to her. Zoe scowled at him. "Don't tell me what to do Jack, I'll stay here if I want to." She spat at him. "Zoe, please just trust me on this - he is one of them. We know now. " Jack said to her. Zoe stood up. "You know what? I couldn't honestly give a crap." She started to yell. "We don't know anything about them to treat Henry like this! He might not be like Ethan! Why can't you just listen to him?" "Because another survivor from the tail section recognises him. He is their leader. He's dangerous. His people have beat this poor girl - her name is Alice. Now please Zoe, for your own sakes, come out now." Jack explained. Zoe sighed heavily. "I'll be back." She said to Ben and left. As soon as Jack closed the door on Ben, Zoe started on him. "What the hell do you think you are doing? Humiliating me like that? People may look up to you as a leader Jack, but it doesn't mean you are one." She shouted. "Didn't you hear me? He is their leader. He could hurt you." Jack explained. Zoe then slapped him clean across the face. "I don't need you looking out for me Jack. I am more then capable. Don't think that just because I am a woman, I can't fight a guy off of me." She said coldly to him before she left the room.
Zoe stood just outside the hatch to get some fresh air. Jack had left, and Ana Lucia was in the Hatch. Desmond had brought Mel outside to get some fresh air for ten minutes. Zoe sighed when she thought she had enough fresh air, she went back into the hatch, and into the pantry to fix Ben and herself a snack. She saw Ana Lucia on the way.
"Hey Ana - I'm just going to get some food. You want anything?" She asked. Ana shook her head. Zoe walked on through to the pantry. Zoe had only been in there a few minutes when she heard somone approach from behind her. She turned and saw it was only Libby.
"Oh hey Libby." She greeted.
"Hey Zoe." Libby greeted back. "I'm just getting some blankets. Libby went over and picked up a couple of them and walked back out. "See you later."
"Bye." Zoe replied. A moment or two after that, Zoe heard a gun shot. She dropped the can she had in her hand. What was that. Three more gun shots went off suddenly again, making Zoe jump out of her skin. She walked tensly through to the living area. Micheal was there opening the door, Ana on the sofa, dead, Libbly lying lifelessly on the floor. Zoe tried to shout out but no words escaped her lips. Micheal opened the door, staring momentarily at Ben before shooting himself in the shoulder. Ben stood there awe struck. Zoe ran over to him.
"Quickly!" She said to him, shaking heavily. "When the others get back here, they are going to take the whole kill now ask questions later. You have to get out of here now Henry! I mean Ben." Ben was still standing there in shock. Zoe snapped her fingers at him.
"BEN. YOU NEED TO GO!" She shouted. She grabbed his hand, wrenching him through the door, dragging him through the hatch, running down the corridors until they got outside. Zoe continued to run with him for ten minutes non stop, then she stopped.
"I - I don't understand what happened-" Ben stuttered.
"There's no time." Zoe told him hastily. She pointed a direction in the jungle. "Just go! Before they catch up with you!" Ben looked at her.
"Aren't you comming?" He asked.
"I can't!" Zoe replied desperatly.
"But you belong with us!" Ben protested. "Come now... - wait - you're still unsure about everything I told you - aren't you?" Zoe felt tears brimming at her eyes. So much had gone on. Libby and Ana dead. Everything Ben had told her.
"I can't. My place is here. This is a life I remember." Zoe explained. Ben nodded, understanding. He made a mental note that he would get her back with the group, afterall, there were unfullfilled duties back at the village she needed to do. He hatched a plan straight away that would help/
"Fine - you stay. Thanks Zoe. Thanks for helping me." Ben said to her before he turned on his heel and ran through the jungle. Zoe held her hand to her head and started to cry, what she had witnessed just catching up with her. She allowed herself to slump to the ground, burying her head under her arms as she crouched on the jungle floor.

sophie saw the whole incident going on the monitors, this man shooting both women. opening the door, and then shooting himself. she watched as she saw zoe help ben out the hatch. she grabbed her back pack, and took tom's gun. who had joined a few hours ago. he was fast asleep know. she snuck by him, and climbed up the ladder.
she ran in one direction hoping she would find him. she got to the point she was breatheless that she had to stop for air. she leant against a tree. catching her breath, when she rustling sounds coming towards. she pulled out her gun, pointing in the dierection the sounds came. As ben burst through the bushes. he stopped himself running, sophie put the gun down.
"Ben!" she squealed, dropping the gun to the floor. running over to him, she hugged as tight as she could. Ben winched a bit from the pain, but held her too. sophie looked up at him, "Oh what have they done to you?" tears formed in her eyes. "I'm sorry, its my fault i got you in this mess"
"No sophie, don't blame yourself. What are you doing out here?"
"i was coming for you"
"c'mon we have to go, they could catch up" ben pulled at her hand to run with him.

I'm not sure if I even know what is going on anymore! ;D
Mel leaned against a nearby tree and took a shaky breath. It had been four days since Ben had somehow escaped the armory and vanished.
She was beginning to panic. Him leaving so early hadn't been part of his plan. Now that things had changed Mel was basically acting on her own.
She still had her sights set on Desmond as planned but she becoming more and more worried she would be caught.
"Mel?" Desmond called coming through the trees.
"Right here." Mel answered.
"You alright?" he asked.
Mel smiled brightly, "Of course. Just going for a little walk."
"Mind if I join you?"
"I'd love it if you would." she said.
"Great." he smiled.
"Des, before we go." she said taking his hand. "I just wanted to thank you for everything. For defending me against Sayid, for protecting me. It means a lot to me."
Desmond looked at her for a long time before he did anything. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly. Then he kissed her softly on the forehead, "You're very welcome."
***************************************************
The next day Mel and Desmond were taking another walk in the jungle near the beach. Mel was just about to say something to Desmond when something flew through the air and hit him squarely in the back of his head. When she bent down to him she saw it had been a large rock.
"Desmond?" she called, but he was unconscious.
Suddenly something dark was thrown over her head and she was plunged into blackness.
"s**t." she thought as her hands were bound behind her back.
Whoever was leading her made her walk for a very long time. Since her head was still covered she tripped and ran into trees frequently.
She figured it was best not to say anything that might give herself away. She didn't know who had ambushed her and Desmond and she didn't want to give them any more reason to hurt her.
After what seemed like days she was thrown into a room and heard the door slam behind her.
****************************************************
With a few hours work Mel was able to free her hands from the rope tied around them. She was just about to take off the hood covering her head when she heard the door open. She froze as she heard two sets of footsteps enter the room.
Someone came to her and ripped the hood off of her head. Her eyes burned as they adjusted to the light. She looked up and saw the last person she had expected to see.
"Ben!" she yelled as she sprang from the floor and threw herself at him. Without thinking she crushed her lips his and wrapped her arms around him.
To her surprise he responded. He pulled her closer and deepened the kiss. The other in the room was forgotten as long minutes passed. Finally Mel pulled away from him, "I didn't think I would ever be so happy to see you. Some plan you thought of, huh?"
Ben didn't release her, he kept his arms tightly around her holding their two bodies close together. "Yes, there was an unexpected change of plans. It seems some of my people don't follow orders as well as I had thought."
"But why pull me out now? That was pretty sneaky by the way, making it look like I was kidnapped."
"Darling Mel, you played your part so well that keeping you there any longer would have been a waste of your time. You were needed back here."
"For what?" she asked very aware of how close they still were.
"For me of course." Ben smirked. "Did you think that by me being captured you were off the hook?"
"You can't be serious. You still want to play that charade?"
"After your more than warm welcome I am beginning to doubt it is a charade after all."
"I was just happy to see you, that's it."
"Then I'll have to send you away more often." he teased.
"Stop it. Could you let me go now?"
"As you wish. Come on, we need to have a serious talk anyway."
****************************************************
"You used me as bait?" Mel asked outraged.
"In a manner."
"That is what this entire secret mission was about?" Mel and Ben were sitting in their room at the Hydra and Ben was trying to explain what was happening.
"Mel, I needed them to come after someone. I had faith in you to be that someone and you pulled it off beautifully. Once they get to the village they will see that we aren't the evil monsters they have made us out to be."
"Why do you need them here?" Mel asked stretching out on her stomach next to Ben. He reached down absently and began running his fingers through her hair.
"It's only one of them I need. The doctor."
"Jack?" Mel wondered.
"He is the only person on this island who can preform the surgery I need. There is no time to find anyone else." he said quietly.
Mel reacher her hand up and traced Ben's spine, "It won't work the way you have planned it. They will never think we are normal, kind people. If you want them, you'll have to take them."
"That will mean more violence."
Mel smiled sadly at Ben. She took his hand and pulled him down to lie next to her even though she knew that no good could come from what they were doing. He put one reassuring arm around her shoulder and she laid her head on his chest. She listened to the steady beat of his heart before she spoke, "Sometimes violence is necessary."

"Good morning" said Ben as he kissed sophie on the forehead. Sophie smiled. But looked saddened when she saw the ugly state he was in.
"Poor shoulder" she said kissing around his injury. Ben chuckled as he pulled sophie closer to him. He kissed her again. As they laid together in bed.
Ben decided he had to get up and go, he pulled the sheets from off him, he grabbed some clothes as he headed off in the bathroom. Sophie sat up in the bed she smiled when she looked around the bedroom floor noticing all the tossed clothes everywhere. After last nights activites. Sophie thought she had her man back. But it all changed when Mel had returned.
A few days had passed, and Ben had gone back to Mel and rejected Sophie again. Sophie felt really depressed, she hated being here and she hated the situation with Ben, comes and go's as when he wants. She sat there with bottle of wine, staring at a pot of headache tablets. She started to think of home and other things. She started to break down in tears everytime she thought Ben. Especially the words he said to her when he made love to her. She took the wine bottle and drank from it. She grabbed pills putting into her mouth one at a time. she couldn't cope anymore........................
"Sophie?" said Ben coming to see her. He saw her on the floor. "Soph?" he asked again. He noticed the alcohol and the pot of pills. One was in her hand. The whole pot was empty. "Oh no what have you done?" he rushed over to her. "Sophie,.......Sophie can you hear me?" he asked, tapping her cheeks to get a response. Some pill were still in Sophie's mouth he put his finger in her mouth to take them out. "You silly girl.- HELP, SOMEONE PLEASE HELP" Ben screamed from the top of his voice. Mel heard as she ran into the house, she saw Sophie lay thier lifeless, she screamed and looked at Ben. "Get Juilet quick," said ben. Mel just stared at the scene. "MEL! GO," Ben snapped, Mel snapped out of it and ran out to get juliet. Ben kept talking to Sophie to get a response out of her.
"What happened?" juliet asked running over.
"I dunno i just found her like this."
Juliet glared at Ben, "Its your mindgames thats done this to the poor girl."
Suddenly Sophie started to breathe. "Get a glass of water Ben." Ben rushed to the sink. Pour some water and passed it to juliet. She put the glass to Sophies lips. "Drink Sophie" Sophie took little sips, but then throwed up everywhere.
Mel stood there in horror, she looked over to ben who was in as much shock as she was. "What have i done!" said ben.

Zoe trailed back to camp, throughly scared after what happened. She was shaking uncontrolably, and had no plan for what to tell Jack, Locke or Sayid if they asked her whether she had seen anything happen. She stumbled onto the beach and saw Charlie. He sensed she was nearby and looked up at her.
"Oh my god, Zoe." He saiid worridly running over to her. "Are you okay." Zoe shook her head, still shaking. Charlie placed his hand o her shoulders to try and steady her. "What's wrong? What happened?" Zoe went to speak, but instead just burst into tears, fallling limp into Charlie's body. He eased her down to the sand, and hugged her.
"Hey, it's going to be alright. Tell me what happened." Charlie said softly to her. "Ana Lucia -- Libby -- they're dead!" Zoe wailed. "What?" Charlie replied in shock. "M -M - Michael. He shot them." Zoe continued, shaking more heavily, the colour draining from her face. "I don't know what to do -- he then shot himself after -- after he opened the door into the armory. He -- he shot himself in the shoulder -- not a fatal wound -- but he did it -- he did it to frame Henry!" "Bloody hell." Charlie replied, holding Zoe closer. "We'll get this sorted Zoe, I promise, but you need to calm down first. Look - I'll go get you some water." Charlie said to her. "Wait right here!" Charlie ran down the beach, Zoe who was in such a state, trying to stop crying. She hugged her knees rocking back and forth, tryiing to make sense of it all.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zoe had been left by herself for fifteen minutes when Charlie returned, but to her it felt like ages.
"Where have you been?" Zoe asked shrilly.
"I went to tell Jack - he's going to come here in a moment to talk to you - he is already in the station, seeing to Ana, Libby and Micheal. Libby is still alive. Jack is trying to save her." Charlie explained breifly. He handed Zoe some water. "Drink it." Zoe took the bottle of water and drank deeply while Charlie covered her in a blanked to keep her warm.
Twenty minutes had gone by and by now, Zoe calmed down a little, breathing at a more normal pace.
Charlie watched Zoe carefully to make sure she was alright. Zoe looked deep into her eyes, feeling sick that all she felt right now was the urge to kiss him, right after what she had just witnessed, but Charlie leant closer towards her, and so did she, and their lips locked. They were alone on that part of the beach, no-one could see them. They continued to kiss, and started to rip each others close off, pulling each other closer and closer towards each other........................................................................
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zoe was the first to wake when she heard shouting. Daylight had now gone and it was pitch black.
"CHARLIE! ZOE! CHARLIE!" - it was Jack, Zoe suddenly realised. She pulled the blanket that was covering herself and Charlie up closer to her neckline and began to change back into her clothes erratically. She tapped Charlie.
"Charlie - Charlie -- wake up. Jack is looking for us." She said to him. Charlie stirred sleepily and began to change himself. They were stood up and fully clothed, Zoe having the blanket wrapped round her when Jack found them.
"Thank goodness." Jack said heavily, catching his breath back. "Come on you two. We need to talk."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was now midday and Zoe with Charlie was still talking to Jack and Sayid. She had told them everything she witnessed, skipping the part where she had helped Ben escape, saying she had run away because she was in shock. Thankfully, Jack and Sayid believed her.
"At least we really do know now that whatever Michael tells us, he will be decietful." Sayid said to Jack. "We should organise a team together. You better go with Michael to this village - do as he says and I will get a team together, and sail around the north shore of the island. I will meet you near the village. I will set off a signal fire when we are nearby."
"We need to have the funeral first Sayid, then we will sort out what we are going to do.' Jack said to him firmly.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zoe hadn't felt up for going to the funeral. She sat on the beach and watched from a distance. She was never one for going to funerals. She watched as they gathered round, Jack and Hurley made speeches. Then something happened that stung Zoe. Claire took hold of Charlie's hand, and Charlie took it. After all that had happened between her and Claire - his sleepwalks, the drugs. and Claire had pushed it aside just because of what had just happened, Charlie accepting it without saying a word, even with him knowing what had happened with himself and Zoe just a few hours ago? Zoe couldn't bare to watch anymore. She stood up and walked back to camp. She sat in her tent and waited.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack appeared at her tent ten minutes later. He was packed and ready to go.
"Are you coming?" He asked her. "We could do with your help. Especially as you witnessed the whole thing, you can help me confront Michael later." Zoe nodded, and picked up her already packed bag.
"Is there anyone else you want to come along and help?" Jack asked. Zoe looked over and glanced at Charlie sat down at Claire's tent, talking to her. She shook her head at Jack.
"No-one." She replied quietly. "Lets go."
