'Nother thing I've kinda wondered about - what do those symbols to the left of each board category, with either gray or blue circles, mean? Is it that there's a new post, or saying that you posted there? When there's a new post or reply that you haven't read on a certain board, the little circle will be blue. When you've already read the new posts/replies, it'll be gray.

Thanks. This isn't directly related to the board, but Photobucket is an important site for us nonetheless. So... anyone else have that problem where when you go to your main page, it drops an advertisement RIGHT OVER all of your albums, and you can't x out of it or get rid of it by refreshing the page? WHYEE? Can't remember- is it that you have to go back and select the url again? But more befuddlelingly - why would Photobucket do that to its members? Other sites may hide the "skip this" or x out option, but it's always there. Photobucket just seems to want to annoy the living crap out of us.

I do get that. IMDB's another site that has ads that make me homicidal. Sometimes with those full-page ads, if you go into your browser's View options (or something similar), if you pick Full Screen, you can see the X on the ad. But not always. Sometimes it's helpful. Full page ads should be outlawed, IMO.

I pay for my photobucket. If your pictures have a high volume of download, they ban you for the rest of the month. It's worth $30.00 for no ads and peace of mind that my pictures will always be visible.

Could you post an example of it not working? Just do whatever you did before. Need to see what happens.

What I did was this: when i had pic I wanted to post (It's on another website), I right clicked on my mouse and selected "copy image address" so I pasted that between the img-/img brackets. btw, I'm using a mac. don't know if that makes any difference. The picture button in the Tags area doesn't even work for me.

Sometimes just a little adjustement does the trick. I don't know why it does that. What skin do you use? I am wondering whether that makes a difference.

You know what, it's too much fuss and bother. I've got too much to do to fiddle with this. It would have been fun had it been easy to do, but apparently, it's not.
But thanks for trying to help. I do appreciate it.

Ah, great minds always figure things out. I noticed that about Yahoo photos. Since I can get my pix through .Mac anyway, and I can photocast through .Mac, I don't see any reason to move to another Web site. But again, thanks, Shannon, for taking the time to help me with this.

The "Help" section of ProBoards does not address this at all, mysteriously. It just seems to assume that you know exactly what all the "tag" icons above your "message" space are for. Some are obvious, but for the others I remember sitting down one time and just playing around to see what they did. Forgotten. ;D
Someone mind laying it out? Perhaps you could change it to the normal way where a text box will pop up saying what it is when you pause your mouse over a box.

With some browers, the text only pops up if the image doesn't show (ie. FireFox). (The buttons, from left to right, the first row and then the second) Most of the buttons are pretty self-explanatory... B for bold, I for italic, U for underline, S for strikethrough...there's glowing text, shadowed text, moving text, preformatted text (for if you're copying and pasting something with indents or whatever), text aligned to the left, center or right. [H R] gives you this line:
You can change the size or type of font. In the second line of buttons... There's blockquote. And URL tags, FTP (which I doubt anyone would need here), image tags, email tags, table tags (again, pretty unnecessary), "sup" puts the letters/numbers higher than the other text like this, "sub" puts them below. There's typewriter-looking text. "Code" is for if you're writing a code for people to see the text of it, not so the code actually works. There's regular quote, list, Wikilinks, and spoiler tags.

Question. Another fanfic writer and I have started what we're calling a chain-fic on another board, and we want to post it here. Basically, I write a chapter and then she does and so on. We're both luddites so the best we know to do is just post the full text in a post on the fanfic sub-board. That will work, but people who want to read will have to wade through the thread to find the new chapters as they come.
Any suggestions?
BTW, the other author is keyserzozie, who regularly posts here.
Love the board! Thanks for making a place for all us Michael-philes can come together!!
