There has been a request to have the Chattango chat come back on the forum. Some felt that the chat died down as it went off the board.
If you are one of those who are affected by the chat screen, please cast your vote.
I am willing to remove the LOST Season 4 meter.

Did we not just do this a few weeks ago? Of course the side that wanted it to stay up is going to have complaints. That's not a reason to have a re-count. People made their decision...it's not a big decision; it's not like "Hey, should we have invaded that country?" It's...do you want a banner or a flash window. The results of leaving it up or taking it down are obvious.
The side that wants it back up has the terrible inconvenience of having to click one time to open the chat.
The side that doesn't want it up has to put up with the site loading slowly. Some people don't log on as much.
I'd rather have people happy here than on Chatango.
That said, my connection's pretty fast and it's not a big deal for me. There's a slight pause every time I load the main page and I have to scroll more. That's...minor. If each side is going to have to defend their opinions every few weeks, then for my part, I say put the Chatango back up and I'll ignore it, 'cause it's not my problem.

I find that there is still a slight delay. So, I am not sure that it is the chat. However, I do have a fast connection as well.

The side that wants it back up has the terrible inconvenience of having to click one time to open the chat. excuse me *puts hand up* its not that it is unconvientant for ppl just to click a button. i just mentioned that it died when it got change over, i mean there were a few who still did used it. like me but, i just felt ppl didn't bother to look on there ne more. im sorry but to me might of been the way i read it. but i didn't like how you worded it! don't want to cause a big debate over it. i wasn't moaning about it. i was just asking if it was possible for it to come back! *runs away b4 she gets murdered*

Just to add my 2 cents worth.
The people who were complaining about slow connection are not here as often as before. Call it the hiatus, call it whatever. If they don't frequent as often, what's the problem about reconnecting the chat at least for the duration of the hiatus?

I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm attacking anyone; that's not my intention. I'm mildly hung over and in way too much pain, so diplomacy is not on the agenda. ;D Yes. I understand that having to click makes it easier to ignore the chat. That, of course, has a positive side and a negative side. We're not encouraging people to use it by putting right there in their face. But, when it was right there in your face, it was causing problems. That's why we took it down. Does no one remember that? Just to add my 2 cents worth. The people who were complaining about slow connection are not here as often as before. Call it the hiatus, call it whatever. If they don't frequent as often, what's the problem about reconnecting the chat at least for the duration of the hiatus? You've been tracking how often every voter [in the last poll] logs on? Not just how often they post, but how often they come here? Are we going to have a vote again when Lost starts airing? And when it stops? Or are we going to assume then that all new members, or old members who return, will not have a problem with the chat, depending on what time of the year they log on?

I have put in a question to a friend of mine who has the chat on his forum. I am trying to find out whether there is a way of minizing the upload time. He has over 1500 members and at least 40 or 50 use the chat. And he seems to have no problems at all.
Of course he has no ads. If that's one of the problem, I have been thinking of getting rid of them anyway. So let's hang in there till I get more answers from my friend.

It's not a big deal, Sophie. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
