Yay - the board is back up! It was great to meet melissaq9 and greyrider in Fort Worth! Thank you both for coming out to support Michael and our little movie. Great to meet you. Michael and Carrie were thrilled and touched to hear you were able to attend. I hope you enjoyed the film. I was a little disappointed in the presentation of the film. The exhibition tape, combined with their projector, didn't really represent the film we made as clearly as I would have liked. We're frantically working on getting a new exhibition copy before I head to NYC for this weekend. Thanks again for attending! FYI - I hear the NYC screenings are very close to sold out. Also - the movie website is finally up and running. www.readyokmovie.com And finally - welcome back board! It was great to meet you to James! I'm sorry to hear that about the copy of the movie. I'll admit I gave a gasp towards the beginning when it faltered for a moment but then everything seemed okay. I hope you are able to get your new copy on time. Again, it was nice to meet you and thank you for bringing your wonderful movie to our neck of the woods!

I'm considering flying down to San Francisco from Toronto. Only if Michael and Carrie will be at the premiere. Where can I find this out? Does anybody know? You also posted that there will be an LA premiere in July. Will they possibly be at that showing? If so July would work better for me. Thanks!

My daughter saw the film this afternoon in NY. Said it was wonderful -- especially the music. Although this may seem odd, I hope the producers consider making the movie available to schools and churches. In addition to the educational and fun aspects, it might be a source of viral marketing. Also, I know the people who run the DC GLBT film festival this fall are interested in doing a DC screening. I wish you all the success in the world for making this film! If there's anything fans can do to help bring the film to the attention of independent movie theaters in our areas, please post information. -Friend

You have some good suggestions that I thought he needed to see way ahead of the time he can log in here again.

Hello Mr. Vasquez, I haven't had a chance to see the movie, but I understand that you are doing screenings mostly in Gays and Lesbians festivals. I just wanted you to know there is a huge festival here in Montreal each year. This summer it will be from July 29 to August 3. It's called "Divers/cité" (alternate french spelling for diversity, with words diverse and city - i hope I make some sense here). Their official web site is www.diverscite.org and if you need me to try to contact them in person, I guess I could try. You might be interested too in submitting for "Festival des films du monde", from August 21st to September 1st. This is their website: www.ffm.caGood luck with the movie, I can't wait to see it, and if I can be of any help to make contact in Canada let me know. I would be trilled to work on French subtitles as well :-)... which they *might* ask if you show the movie here, but I'm not sure.

I don't think it will be coming to my area either. Not only is my area a little small compared to D.C. or Baltimore, but it's also a little narrowminded when it comes to anything a little different. There are a lot of prejudices still, so the gay and lesbian community is not as open as in larger metropolitan areas. Unfortunately... hard to believe in this day and age.
That's wonderful that some of you got to attend. Perhaps I'll get to attend one of the screenings in another city if I'm traveling and the dates work out. *fingers crossed*

If you squint a little bit at Michael's solo picture, it almost looks like he has a few tiny mustache hairs.

The movie's official website says that it is actually playing in my home town of Philadelphia tonight, and on Sunday afternoon as part of Philly's own Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. But since Michael and Carrie were in LA for their own festival, they probably wouldn't be able to stop off at my home.
