it's really nice that he wrote something for the fan board I'm so happy that he took notice of us and even appreciates us being 'there', you know... also, I'm glad to hear that he's still having a good time working as an actor. I don't know.. made me smile thanks for showing this to us, esbaker! and thank you michael for taking the time and writing us! we all appreciate it greatly. yay! |

I find it so....admirable....for a celebrity to take time out of his busy day to write a letter to a fan board. It definitely shows that he appreciates us and that's a quality that will keep the fans around....I know it's gotten me hooked. Thank you Michael! |

With this letter and pretty much everything else he does, Michael really seems to understand and appreciate his blessings every day. I doubt anyone on Lost is arrogant or conceited over being on the show, but with a program that's so insanely popular as this one, it would be pretty easy to get that way. To have enough perspective to treat it as just a "work a day" thing, with a level head, is a valuable trait that some actors struggle to have. But it's more than that- to have a job you like, to work with people you like, that would be very fortunate for anyone to have, and something many people never get. Michael really seems like he's living that dream, and our appreciation for the hard work he does seems like a surprising, but very welcome bonus/icing on the cake. And that level head and counting of his blessings gives him enough appreciation to thank us in return, it appears.
Jack's tatoos read "He walks amongst us, but he is not one of us." On the outside, Michael walks amongst us but doesn't appear to be one of us[since we're not TV and theatre stars]- but on the inside, he is kind of like one of us. That's why us fans send him stuff, and that's why he proves us right to do so when he replies back. He really is one of us, and TV and this community is all the better for it. Edith showed us a shining example of that yesterday.

Edith the letter is wonderful! Thank you for mentioning the board in your own letter.
It is a great surprise that Michael took the time to write a personalized letter to the board. It really shows that he does appreciate his fans.
Plus, I learned a new word: luddite.
Educational and entertaining at the same time!

Woohoo! Thank you so much, Michael, for taking the time to write to us! We really do have a lot of fun here. I'm always amazed at the diversity and character...so many people drawn together by Michael. I've made some great friends here. I've often thought that Michael must have the nicest fans in the world...and I think there's a good reason for that! Thank you, Edith, for obtaining and delivering the message to us. We love ya!  |

This fact that Michael has written the letter for the fans characterizes him as the benevolent person.. Though... Any actor works first of all for spectators.. Actor's playing means publicity.. Otherwise it is not meaningful.. Therefore our goodwill is mutual...  |

OMG The guy's amazing! I'm so happy he wrote something to us!!!! ;D (I was actually not hoping about it anymore, coz I'd asked him the same thing in my fan-mail and he didn't write anything...
