Hi, today on TV I have seen the presentation of the last Woody Allen film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" in Cannes (with Carrie Preston, but not in a main role). The newspapers say that the official presentation will be in last days of September in Barcelona. We will see. The trailer (without Carrie): uk.youtube.com/watch?v=S2cOYupX6A4

Carrie will certainly be appearing in this one under the radar, since this movie has been getting all its buzz from the speculation of how "busy" Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johanssen get in the film. Certainly there's about 20 seconds combined from that trailer that doesn't consist of some combination of these people getting at it.

I don't know anything about the plot, but I think that it's a comedy. But I don't know how kind of comedy...I suppose a sex triangle. I don't like P. Cruz at all and S. Johanssen either. Javier Bardem it's better but in Spain he did some horrible films. I'm curious to know how kind of character did Carrie Preston.

Ha,ha,ha...but other very pretty women are good actresses too. I like Catherine Zeta Jones (in "Chicago" she was awsome) or Charlize Theron and they are very, very pretty. And some handsome men are good actors like Brad Pitt or George Clooney. Perhaps in this cases the beauty are a problem, because everybody see them for their faces and bodys and not for their works. Paul Newman (for me, a very good actor) had the same circumstances. He was soooooo handsome man... But I don't like Penelope either Scarlett. For me, they are bad actresses (especially the first one). I don't know why, but I don't believe his characters. This is the worst for an actor.

And some handsome men are good actors like Brad Pitt or George Clooney. I've seen "Chicago" and Brad Pitt in "A River Runs Through It." I thought the actors were okay; I just didn't find them attractive and understand the hoopla surrounding them. Perhaps in this cases the beauty are a problem, because everybody see them for their faces and bodys and not for their works. This is why I blame the director or makeup artist because they can offset an actor's appearance if they wanted to have them appreciated more for their work and not put so much makeup on them.

It would be so tired must to be always perfect...(I don't know if my grammatical construction is correct, but you know me...). These days I have seen the Cannes Festival. All these celebrities with perfect hair, perfect skin, perfect clothes...all is perfect. A dream. But it's a lie, and some young people (or perhaps not so young) believe in this dream. If you don't be a mature woman with your head over your shoulders, perhaps you think that the real life is this.

That is the problem with mainstream entertainment, silvia. It's there to meet people's fantasies, but somewhere along the way a lot of young people get the idea that this is how people should look. What a shock then when life doesn't measure up. I think the problem is more intense here in the states than elsewhere.

Yes, it's true. Here is the same. And what about Photoshop? Young and immature people think that the pictures are "real"...and a lot of them are so false!!! But all this issues has nothing to do with the film of Allen...ha,ha,ha...perhaps we need another thread!

The film is on the screens since yesterday. Woody Allen, Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz went to Barcelona and the mayor was with them. I don't know when I will go to the cinema, we will see.

The more I hear about the movie, the less inclined I am to want to see it. Unless someone has seen in and says it's unbelievably good, I think I'll pass on this one. Even at the discount rates, it's a lot of money for something I might not enjoy. I'm counting pennies these days.

I shall not watch this movie because I do not love Woody Allen's any films. Too many empty conversations and hysterics.

Yeah, it's true, I like only some films, but a lot of his work is very odd (like him, ha,ha,ha). I want to see the film only because I want to see the city, and to play "where is this street? Oh, yes, is in..." and so on. Silly think, but funny.

I've watched two totally goofy movies that were filmed in the Twin Cities just to see if I could ID the sites places were filmed, so that's totally understandable. Plus Barcelona sounds like a beautiful city.

The only Woody Allen film I liked was Take the Money and Run and the only scene out of there was the one in which the two guys were holding someone up with a bar of soap carved into a gun and it's raining and the gun is sudsing. The rest of his films seem so fretful.
