Day 3
"Nothing...its nothing!" Sophie stood up, "C'mon it will be dark soon lets get this signal working.
**************************************
After hearing the loop of the french woman voice repeating, the group sat around there camp, thinking how they gonna explain to the rest of the passengers what they heard. Sophie was distant to everyone her mind was on other things......
"TAXI!" Sophie hailed for as she waited for one. The driver just ignored her and drove past. "HEY!" she waved to get his attention. "Dammit!" she snapped looking at her watch knowing she was going to be late for work.
"Excuse me Miss? You look like your in a hurry, you can share my ride!" A gentleman asked.
"Oh thank you so much!" She smiled as he opened the door and let her in, and then climbed in too. "Widmore Industries please." she asked the driver, then turned to the man beside her.
"Oh take her first then i'll give you my address" the man smiled.
The cabby started up the taxi and drove them. "Thank you" she smiled to the man beside her. She thought he was very cute and looked rather dapper in his suit he wore. "I'm Sophie by the way." she offered her hand to shake."
"Dean." he replied.
****************************
"Thanks again Dean." she smiled as she got out the cab. She handed him a card. "Call me sometime. Perhaps i could return the favour." she smiled. Dean grinned and placed the card in his wallet. Watching walk into Widmores building. He smirked to himself "I'm sure you will" he mumbled.
**************************
"You have your list?" Ben asked as he stood in the jungle with ethan. Ben wore rugged clothing as he took the list Ethan had written down. Glancing at it he looked up at him. "Theres someone else i want brought to me." he said. "Her name is Sophie. Shes very important. I want know harm done to her. Do you understand?" he asked
"Yes..." Ethan replied "When?" he asked.
"As soon as possible." Ben replied. Hearing noises from the beach Ben quickly snuck off. Soon dissappering altogether.

Day 3
Zoesat down, staring out into the calm rippling ocean as it's gentle waves broke onto the shore as her mind went over what had happened over the past few days. Guns, polar bears and a fugative running free amongst them. What kind of a world had she just been thrown into?
She pondered for a while and suddenly came to a conclusion. That this must have all happened for a reason, and that who everyone was - it didn't really matter. Because they were all in the same situation. People who knew nothing about each other - not really. And it was then Zoe made a promise to herself. She wouldn't judge anyone for their past on this island - and nor would she let anyone judge her for her past.
"Everything ok?" Came a familar voice as someone sat down beside her. Zoe glanced at him.
"Yes Hurley, I'm fine thanks." She smiled.
"Good - I was just kinda getting worried. You've been sat, staring for hours." Hurley replied. "Like your waiting for something."
"No. Not waiting for anything." Zoe replied as she stared out at the ocean, and turned back to look at him. "Afterall - by the sounds of it, there is nothing to wait for, right?" Hurley didn't answer her, and they sat in silence, which is soon interrupted by a gun shot.
Standing up immediately, Zoe turned to look for where the shot came from, and she saw Sawyer emerging from a tent with a gun in his hands - Jack and some of the others started to storm towards him. Zoe placed her hand to her mouth in shock.
"Oh no." She whispered. "This can't be good."

Day 4
Joanna kissed Chase goodnight in the hospital parking lot.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come over tonight?” he whispered as he nuzzled her neck playfully. Jo giggled and swatted him away.
“Not tonight. I have some things I have to get done around the house. But we’re on for dinner tomorrow night, right?”
“Absolutely,” he replied, and kissed her again. “Sweet dreams, luv.”
Jo waved him off and walked towards her car. She felt a little lightheaded. Things had gotten serious with Chase very quickly, and she was thrilled about it. He made her very, very happy.
“There’s something I need to know,” Jack’s voice startled Jo and her keys flew out of her hand. He had been leaning against her car, waiting.
“Dammit Jack, you scared the hell out of me!” she yelled and fished around on the ground to find her keys.
“I'm sorry,” he replied, and crouched on the ground to help her. He found the keys underneath her front tire and handed them to her. They stood up and now found themselves standing only a few inches apart. Jo felt that familiar rush of electricity from being close to him and instinctively took a step backwards to avoid it.
“What is it?” she asked, irritated. It had been a long day, and more than anything she just wanted to get home.
“I need to know why, for years, you’ve adamantly refused to 'cross the line' with me because of our ‘professional relationship,’ but it’s perfectly all right for you and Dr. Chase.”
“Don’t do this,” Jo whispered softly and opened the door of her car.
“I need to know!” he demanded.
Jo slammed the car door. “It’s because I was terrified,” she spoke slowly and softly, almost angrily. “It’s because I love you so much that I couldn’t allow myself to risk losing you completely if our relationship went sour. I felt safer with our friendship.”
“Except we haven’t had a friendship! You’ve detached yourself from it. I want to fix this. I want to start over with you.”
Jo was taken aback by the intensity in his eyes. She hesitated a moment, trying to choose the right words to respond with. Finally, she shook her head sadly. “It’s too late, Jack. You’re getting married in one week, and I’m finally happy with Chase. Whatever you and I might have had will never happen. We’re meant to remain friends.” Jo opened the car door again and started to get in. Jack fought back tears as he watched her drive away.
**********
Jo was fishing with Eko when she felt compelled to look behind her towards the jungle. She did, and gasped in shock. Christian Shepherd was standing at the edge of the jungle in a crisp black suit, staring directly at her.
“Eko, do you see that man? Tell me you see him!” she demanded, her eyes wide in horror.
Eko followed her gaze but didn’t give her an answer. She watched Christian turn his back to her and disappear into the jungle. Suddenly she felt very dizzy. Eko gripped her arm firmly to hold her steady. What she had just seen was completely impossible. Christian was dead, she and Jack had identified his body in Australia! She was still wearing the black dress she had bought for his funeral.
What was happening to her?

Day 4
"Hey where you off too?" Ethan asked Sophie as she snuck off into the jungle.
"Oh....i'm. It's nothing really...I just wanted to go exploreing. Ya know all this land its intriguing what we could find..." she felt a little nervous. She really wanted to go off and look for him.
"Can i tag along?" he asked.
"Umm. Sure....yeah. Why not!" she smiled.
"After all its getting dark soon. You wouldn't want to be alone with that thing out there." Ethan joked.
"Yeah..."
"Does Jack know were gone?" he questioned.
"Nope!" Sophie smiled mischeviously.
......................................................................
"So what brings you to England Dean?" Sophie asked as they walked home after dining in a restaurant.
"Business."
Sophie chuckled and looked at him. "Like?"
"I'm waiting for someone."
"Someone special?" she asked intrigued stopping and leaning against the bridge wall as they both looked across the thames under the dark glistening stars.
"No...." he chuckled pausing to look at Sophie. "You don't want to know about that stuff its boring!" He smiled as he stood behind her looking at the view.
"Your very mysterious Mr!" as she took his hand and held it. Dean smiled back.
"Isn't that what girls our into?"
Sophie blushed then pulled him to carry on walking again. "I'm trying to get know you. We've been on a couple of dates now." She stopped as they reached her building to her apartment. "And I like you!" she blushed more. Hoping he wouldn't reject her.
Dean leant in and kissed her. Both of them feeling that spark you get when you really like someone. Sophie fell back against the wall as they kissed passionatley. "Come upstairs with me." she whispered between kisses. But Dean pulled away stared into her eyes.
"I want too. It's too soon to rush into things." He pecked her cheek again. "Goodnight Sophie." and whizzed of hailing a taxi and getting in. Sophie stood not knowing what to think. Did he like her and wanted to wait? Or he just ran off and was never coming back?
"Dean!" she sighed as she watched her mystery man go off.

Day 4
Zoe had been there when they buried Edward Mars, silent after she and Hurley had discovered who was the fugitive on the plane. Once he had been buried, Zoe went off to get some water. She noticed Sawyer sitting and astaring out at the ocean, stilll looking a little shaken. She went over to him and sat beside him.
"Don't blame yourself." She said simply to him. "Anyone could have botched it up. It's just because it was you Jack was so angry."
"I'm not bothered what the doc thinks." Sawyer replied defensively.
"Sure. Whatever." Zoe replied, raising an eyebrow, but didn't leave.
"Do you want something?" Sawyer asked when she didn't leave.
"Do you?" Zoe smirked. "This is a free island sweetheart. I'll sit here if I want. You can leave if you are that repulsed by me." Sawyer chuckled lightly but stayed put.

Day 5
"Are you looking for something?" Ethan asked as Sophie rushed up ahead.
"No...."
"You just seem like you are." he said as they both stopped to take sip of water from her bottle.
"I just wanted to make sure we weren't alone on this island. I mean no ones come out far to even know."
"I think this place is pretty deserted. Surely if anyone was on this island. Wouldn't they of seen the plane and come and rescue us?" he questioned.
Sophie thought about it closing the lid on her bottle. "Your right." she started walking back the direction they came.
"We're going back now?" Ethan questioned her.
"Yeah.." as she walked ahead. Ethan stood there. With a dark cold look to his face as he watched walk infront.

Day 5 (Night)
The survivors sat solemnly around the campfire. They had buried Donald that day, the fourth passenger to be buried on the beach, and morale was running extremely low.
Nathan sat beside Joanna and casually put his arm around her. "You tried to save him. You did the best you could."
Jo glared at him in response. He got the message and removed his arm.
"You know, we haven't talked much since the crash. I'd like to know a little more about you," he said, trying very hard to be smooth.
"What do you want to know?"
"For one, are you married?"
Jo looked at Nathan in disgust. They had just buried a man, and he chose this moment to hit on her? Unbelievable.
She sighed heavily. "I was nearly married," she admitted. "But it didn't work out so well."
******************** Jo gazed delightedly at her glittering engagement ring. She and Chase were busily making plans for a December wedding, and she had never been happier.
She was home alone when Jack knocked on her door. He looked serious and was obviously very agitated.
"What is it?" she asked, worried. She motioned for him to come inside. Jack had had a very difficult year, between Sarah leaving him, his obsessive behavior resulting from it, and his father's troubles at the hospital. Jo was always there for him, even though it often irritated her fiance.
"Do you want a drink?" she asked.
"No," Jack responded sharply. "I came to ask you to do something for me." Jo looked at him expectantly. "My father's disappeared. My mom thinks he's in Australia, and asked me to go find him. I can't...I can't go alone."
Jo could tell it was killing him to ask for her help; he was usually so independent. This was a new low for him.
"Jack, I can't just go to Australia with you. I'm getting married in three months. I'm sorry."
Jack looked deeply into her eyes. "I need you, Jo."
Joanna got up and paced around the living room. "Chase won't be happy," she reminded him. "He already thinks I spend too much time with you."
"He'll understand."
Jo shook her head. "I'm not so sure he will." she sighed, and sat down next to him again. "But, this must be pretty serious. I'll talk to him, okay?"
********************** "Absolutely not," Chase growled. "That's out of the question."
"It's not for you to decide what I can and can't do," Jo shouted back. "Jack needs me, and I'm going."
"I need you! Jack has been falling apart for months, and he's bringing us with him. I won't have it!"
"We're not falling apart," Jo snapped. "He's my best friend, and I promised I would do this for him. I'll be back in plenty of time to finish planning for the wedding."
"If you go to Australia there will be no wedding." Chase declared.
Jo's shock registered on her face. "You can't be serious."
"I"m serious," he responded. "Over and over again, you keep choosing Jack over me, and I've had enough of it. If we're getting married, Jack has to be out of the picture completely."
"I can't do that and you know it," Jo replied angrily. "I won't abandon my best friend."
"Then give me that ring back."
Jo pulled her engagement ring off and flung it furiously at Chase. "Take it. I'm done fighting."
Chase stormed out of her house and Jo collapsed on the couch, sobbing bitterly. It looked like Jack had come between her and Chase for the last time.
************ Jo suddenly looked beyond Nathan. Christian was standing just behind him, holding a glass of whiskey in his hand.
"Do you see him?" she whispered. Nathan looked behind him.
"What are you talking about?" he asked, confused.
Jo stood up and walked cautiously towards Christian. When he suddenly darted into the jungle, Jo instinctively followed him. His white dress shirt shone like a beacon in the dark jungle. Jo ran for as long as she could, until she lost sight of Christian. She glanced around her and realized she was very, very lost.

Day 6
Sophie and Ethan were still walking. Him behind her as he stopped and picked up a log on the floor. Sophie hearing Ethan stopped she turned around seeing standing right behind her, with her log in his hand. He had a glare to him that frightened Sophie.
"Ethan... whats going on?" she asked.
He just stood suddenly he had the log and swiped her with it, knocking her to the ground cold. Crouching down on to her level, "I'm sorry for that" he spoke before scooping her up and tossing her over his shoulder. Heading further into the jungle.

Day 6
Jo found herself moving deeper into the unfamiliar jungle as she chased Christian, who disappeared and reappeared sporadically.
From a distance, she spotted him straight ahead of her, and this time he was actually standing still. Jo approached cautiously, wary of him taking off on another run. But he remained where he was, and greeted her with an enigmatic smile.
Jo walked up to Christian. "How is this possible?" she asked him increduously. "How can you be here?" She reached out to touch him, to see if he was real, but he held his hand up to stop her.
"I'm supposed to lead you here," was all he said, before vanishing into the dense foliage once again. Jo was too exhausted to follow him any longer; she had been chasing him for most of the night and into the early hours of the morning.
Jo took in her new surroundings. She was standing at the entrance to a cave. The sounds of a waterfall greeted her ears, much to her relief. She decided to seek shelter here, and sleep off her exhaustion. If Christian had any further instructions for her, they would have to wait until later.

day 6 (night)
Sophie stirred smelling burning wood. Opening her eyes she found herself laying on the jungle floor. Hands binded by rope. Her head was thumping. As she could feel wetness from head, knowing it could be blood. She looked across from her seeing Ethan poking the fire with a stick, he noticed Sophie was awake and smiled.
"I'm sorry for hitting you." he apologised.
"Why? And why are my hands binded?" she asked.
"I had too." he mumbled.
"You work for him don't you? Your one of them?" she asked.
"What?" Ethan stood up. "What are you talking about?"
"Just untie me Ethan and take me to him! It was him i was looking for."
"He wanted to see you. How do you know him?" he questioned her crouching down to her level.
"Long story." she sighed. Ethan looked at her for a moment. He tipped the last of the water they had over the fire. Then fiddled about the jungle floor. "What are you doing?" She questioned.
"Making sure no one will be coming after us." he replied. He walked over to Sophie grabbing her arm he yanked her up.
"Untie me please!" she said.
"I will when we get there" he growled as he took the rope and pulled it like a leash

Day 6
Zoe returned from her trek along the beach to get familar with her surrounds. Knowing now that it was unlikely for rescue any time soon, she decided to get a better layout of the island, as she didn't want to kid herself like the others that there was still some possibility of getting rescued at all.
Night had fallen and she sat down at one of the camp fires next to Hurley and Charlie, who seemed rather glum.
"What's up?" She asked as she sat down.
"We lost someone." Charlie replied rather distantly.
"Who?" Zoe continued.
"This woman called Joanna." Hurley explained. "She went for a swim - but the current got hold of her. Jack tried to save her. But there was nothing that could be done."
"s**t." Zoe commented quietly. "Where is Jack?"
"I dunno. He disappeared off into the jungle a fair while ago." Charlie replied just as Jack had returned to the beach. Zoe stood up, giving him a concerned look. He looked a bit of a mess. White and with a cold sweat. She went over to him.
"Is everything alright Jack?" She asked.
"Yeah." He smiled, as he caught his breath back just as a crowd of people started to crowd around.
"I have some good news." Jack announced to the group."Not far inland - I found some caves. It's perfect. Plenty of fresh water and shelter. I think we should move there."
"What about rescue?? We can't go inland! Any plane or boats will miss us!" Zoe heard someone protest. Zoe gave Jack a meaningfuly look. He was also one of the few people out of all the survivors who knew that chance of rescue was more on the impossibe line. But those who knew this had agreed to not say anything - and to give the rest of survivors some sort of hope for rescue- even if it was only false hope.
"Those who want to stay can stay." Jack explained. "But I'm moving to those caves tomorrow. Anyone who wants to come with me, I'm leaving for it about midday after I've packed, so you'll need to leave with me so I can show you the way." Zoe nodded at him in understanding and headed back to her shelter after having a small drink as there had been a shortage and fell asleep pretty quickly.

Day 6 (Night)
Jo woke up and stretched her legs lazily. It was night – she had slept the entire day. She walked towards the fresh water and quenched her thirst, then wondered what to do about food. She couldn’t see very well in the caves, but happened to have a lighter in her pocket. As she flicked it on, the flame revealed a silhouette standing over what looked like a coffin. Joanna muffled a startled scream. She approached the figure very quietly, and something compelled him to turn towards her. The darkened features were unmistakable – it was Jack, standing over the casket they had chosen for his father.
Jack spotted Joanna and shook his head in confusion, pointing at her. “You’re not real.”
“I am real, Jack,” she responded quietly.
Jack still seemed to distrust his eyes. “How did you find this place?” he asked incredulously.
“Your father led me here.” She expected him to argue with her that it was impossible, but strangely, he seemed to accept this as the truth.
Suddenly, Jack’s face lit up as he accepted that she was real flesh and blood. He hugged her close to him as grateful tears stung his eyes. His lips found hers and they shared the most intensely passionate kiss either had ever known.
“I’m not letting you go again,” he whispered in her ear.
****
Jack and Joanna made a fire and sat together in the caves, catching up on everything that had happened since the crash.
“A woman named Joanna drowned this morning,” Jack told Jo. “I couldn’t save her. It seems strange to me that you would return to me on the same day we lost her.”
“This island is a strange place, Jack.” Jo replied warily.
“There are other survivors on your beach?” Jack asked, concerned.
Jo nodded “There are nineteen left. But I don’t know how to get back,” she said softly. Regret washed over her as she thought of the friends she had left behind who had now lost their only doctor.
“We’ll figure out how to find them. Or maybe they’ll find us. I think we should get back to the beach camp first, and tell people about these caves. This is a better shelter, and we need the water supply. I’ll take you with me, but wait behind a little while I tell them. I don’t want to alarm anyone by showing up suddenly with someone new; if they’re suspicious, they might not agree to move.”
Jo agreed. Jack looked at her lovingly and patted her torn dress. “You’re still wearing the dress you bought for the funeral. There is plenty of unclaimed luggage that we pulled from the fuselage; you can find yourself something new.”
Jo kissed Jack gratefully. “I’m ready to go, whenever you are.”

day 7 night
Ethan and Sophie had been walking the last 24 hours. When Ethan stopped. Sophie looked around as she noticed these large pillars going on for miles through the jungle.
"Is this the fence?" she asked.
"What? You seem to know a lot about this place." he asked, as he punched in a code next to one of the pillars.
A noise was buzzing but suddenly stopped. Ethan pushed her through.
"You wanted to check if i get zapped?" she asked.
Ethan smirked. "Better safe than sorry" he said grabbing the rope and then pulling it again.
......................................................................................
Soon they reached the place Ethan had been travelling too. It was a quite little village surrounded by the jungle and mountains. The homes were bungalows, and all idencital with the same yellow mustard colour. It reminded her off something out of a film. Most of the houses were dark, people must of been sleeping. Ethan pulled Sophie along, taking her to one of the houses. He pulled her to one of the side doors opening it up it took them down a dark basement, a long corridor with a door at the end of it. Ethan unlocked and then put Sophie here. It was full of boxes. Probally a storage room.
"Stay here for now"
"Well i can't exactly go any where!" she stated showing him her binded arms and no possible escape in the room. Ethan smiled then closed the door behind him. Making the room fill with darkness. Sophie sighed slumping down on the floor.

Day 7 (Night)
As Jo filled her water bottle from the cold, fresh water in the cave, she reflected on the long day they had just left behind. Jack was busily setting up his medical supplies a few feet away, pausing occasionally to glance at her as if to make sure she was really there and not just a vision that would disappear as his father had.
Earlier that Day
The fuselage survivors had welcomed Joanna as one of their own, to both her and Jack's enormous relief. Her first order of business, after becoming acquainted with them, was to find a suitcase of clothes that would fit her. The funeral dress she wore was now completely torn and ragged, and brought back memories of finding Christian in Australia that she would much rather forget. Kate joined her as she rummaged through the pile of luggage retrieved from the fuselage.
"So...you and Jack were an item?" Kate asked. Jo noticed Kate acted a little awkwardly around her, and suspected she was interested in Jack.
"We were nearly an item, several times, but we never quite got our act together." Jo responded.
"What about now?" Kate persisted.
Jo shrugged. "Time will tell."
Kate raised an eyebrow. "He never mentioned you, you know. We all assumed he had been traveling alone."
Jo hid a stab of pain behind a cheerful smile. "That's Jack. He's a private person." She pulled a large green suitcase off the pile. "This looks like it's a fit. Thanks for your help, Kate." Jo wandered off to change into her new clothes.
Jo handed a bottle of water to Jack. He took a long drink from it. Jo looked around the cave, watching the others settling into their new home.
"You must be disappointed that not everyone chose to follow you here," she remarked.
Jack shrugged. "They made their choice."
Jo chewed her lip thoughtfully and decided to broach the subject that had been bothering her all day.
"Why didn't you tell anyone about me, Jack?" she asked very softly.
Jack paused and refused to meet her eyes. "It was personal."
"So, you just allowed everybody to assume that you were traveling alone, just a single guy in coach. People like Kate." Jo found it difficult to keep her rising anger from her voice.
Jack finally looked directly at her. "I thought you were gone, Jo. I had to deal with that privately, and didn't want anybody to see it."
"It only took you six days to get over my presumed death, then?" Jo responded sarcastically. "Jack, I cried for you every night. I thought about you every second!"
This time Jack erupted in anger. "They made me their leader. I had to make the decisions that would increase their survival - and that's all these people have allowed me to do. Personal feelings don't factor into the equation. You're a first-class doctor, Jo; you know how to detach yourself from a situation. I didn't allow myself to talk about you, or even think about you, because then I had to face the possibility that this island might never bring you back to me, or it might bring you back to me dead. But don't you dare accuse me of not caring."
Jack's face was red, and tears rimmed his eyes. Jo instantly regretted needling him. She walked over to him and wiped his tears away. "The island did bring me back to you, Jack. That's all that matters now." She pulled him to her and kissed him softly on the lips, not realizing that Hurley, Sun and Jin were watching with unabashed interest.

day 7 night
Sophie had been sitting in the darken room for a few hours, when the door unlocked Ethan came in along with him. Sophie looked up waves of nerves swirled in her stomach as she saw him again.
"Sophie can you sort out these files" Mr Widmore asked placing them down on her desk.
"Yes Sir" she smiled and watched him back to his office. Her phone vibrated next to her she picked it up, reading the txt message.
"Can't wait to see you tonight. Dean x"
Sophie smiled to herself. It been a few months now and her and Dean was still dating. He often go away for a few days and then reappear to see Sophie again. Sophie was smitten, and was falling for him. She replied to the txt then switched off her phone. When she saw the pile of paper work she had to do. Picking up one the files a few pieces of paper fell out.
"s**t!" she mumbled starting to up the paper. Something caught her eye. Picking up the paper. She noticed photographs of Dean around London and other countries. Then picking up another paper. It had information on Dean, everything about him. Only the thing was. He wasn't Dean. The man she thought she knew. He was Benjamin Linus. This was the man her boss was after. She had heard things and read different things about this man. She felt the urge to throw up and ran to the bathroom. Mr Widmore came out his office seeing her rush off to the toilets.
"Sophie are you okay?" he asked knocking on the door.
"Yes....." she said coming out feeling embarrsed. "Must of been something i eaten."
"Why don't you take the rest of the day off!"
"But those files?"
"Margret can do them."
"Thank you Sir" Sophie smiled. Collecting her things.
"See you first thing tomorrow."
