OK, outside of Michael Emerson, who I obviously want to win, I have to say most of those are good choices.

Some of those are a bit of a stretch but I'm excited for Michael.

Best Supporting Actor? Yes, the actor may submit the episode that he or she feels would make the nomination stage. Michael cannot go up for Best Actor. LOST is an ensemble show, but somehow Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly managed to be the only ones to be able to be nominated for best actor (male and female, respectfully). Hence, Michael can go up for Best Supporting Actor (male).

I wonder why Foxy didn't submit anything?? Shouldn't he at least get an honorary emmy for all the winking I've heard he did this season??

Hence, Michael can go up for Best Supporting Actor (male). I started rewatching "Lost" last night with my husband. We began with the pilot and that episode is told from Jack's point of view. I think he was set up as the main character if the writer's couldn't get the response they wanted from the ensemble storytelling. And before Michael Emerson came along and stole the show, I might have been okay with that. Now... well, let's just say watching Emerson-less first season and a half will be difficult. I don't know why it should be - the show was good before he came along. He just makes it so much better. I think he should be able to go up for Best Actor, but I don't make the rules. In this case, I barely know the rules.

I recently started watching from the beginning too, and cheered out loud twice, first when Desmond made his first appearance, and again when Benry appeared. And then a third time when Desmond reappeared. My question is, why the hell did Darlton wait so long to bring the best part of the show to life?

In this case, I barely know the rules. Originally, the character Kate was supposed to be the star. It was she who was supposed to be the shepherd. Jack was going to be killed off by the smoke monster right away. The people at ABC did not like that angle. They wanted to keep Jack alive. So the pilot was killed instead. However, Jack is always a weak character. I guess the writers were not able to fortify him. And yes, Michael just stole the show and made Ben a central character. Hurray for Michael's talents.

After seeing "The Constant" entries, I'm beginning to think that if anything will blow ME's Emmy chance that would be it. That's such a powerful episode. Almost everyone says right out the gate that that's the best ep of the season, hands down. And it was a powerful episode. It hits all the right spots for a drama. Tragic love story. No smoke monster, no creepy whispers in the forest that make people "huh?", not a lot cryptic messages that require some knowledge of past episodes — all distractions for those most likely to be casting Emmy ballots.
I hope I'm wrong, because I think ME truly outdid himself in TSOTTC. And since he is really the only standout actor on the show that's an amazing feat. In a sense the only person he can better is himself (which sort of puts him in the odd position of berating himself.)

But, nonetheless, here's hoping that Michael will wow the academy members.

In a sense the only person he can better is himself (which sort of puts him in the odd position of berating himself.) LOL!! I'm genuinely torn between Ian and Michael - I'm madly in love with them both!! So if I were an Emmy voter, I would have to be convinced purely on the strength of the episode. Everything you've just said, Mythic, makes perfect sense. My fingers are crossed that at least Ian or Michael take the statue home - we simply can't have a non-Lostie steal their thunder!!!
