He may be in the finale, but that doesn't mean anything as to safety. If there's a major death before the finale, then it's okay. If not, then who knows what will happen to Ben in that finale. However, with the title of the season finale being "The Incident" that's another good sign. If the season finale is partly about the incident that led to the creation of the hatch, then someone will probably have to die in it. And if Sawyer and Daniel are still in DHARMA at that point, it will likely be one of them. Suddenly I feel a little more relieved, and am starting to think we freaked out for nothing. [If the worst happens, do not kill me for that statement ]

I think they said the death would be in the finale, so the fact that Ben is in the episode doesn't mean much, but you're right about the second point. Also, it's supposed to be a leave-the-show-forever kind of thing, so Shannon-like death.

Kristen gave me a bit of pause in her latest spoiler chat, at www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b104594_spoiler_chat_omg_chuck_blair.htmlDon in Dallas: Kristin, are they killing off Sawyer on Lost?
Yes, they're killing Sawyer off Lost. Other season finale deaths to expect this year: A depressed McDreamy commits surgical hara-kiri with a scalpel on Grey's Anatomy, Blair uses thallium poison to kill Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl and Jon Stewart is being written out of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. (Sorry for the bad joke.) To my own personal knowledge, Josh Holloway is not going anywhere (swear). However, it is possible there is a death I don't know about..

Daniel is reportedly getting his own centric ep to end April. We must hope a lot is revealed about him and little is left unexplaned- if there's too much left about him that can't just be explaned by Season 6 flashbacks for Eloise and Widmore, then he's a little more safer and we're in full blown panic mode.

I really can't cope with this . So basically despite all our hopings there is still a 1 in 2 chance that Ben is going to die OMG Noooooooooo - those odds are far too high for me. The fact that he has been seen in the finale is worrying to me. Much as I love episodes with Ben in (as much as possible preferably), if he wasn't in it he couldn't be the one to die, but he is, and so he could - oh bloody hell please, please let it not be Ben. Also just as an aside (that got me panicking) in the interview on the Bonnie Hunt show Michael said something along the lines of that he and Carrie hadn't got a dog 'til now as it wouldn't be possible with all the flying to and from Hawaii ....... but now they are getting the dog!! Am I reading too much into this? I really hope I am

I really hope I am Well, here is something I saw on Dark UFO that may give us reason to hope: Latest from AusielloNot that I'm happy about this outcome, and it doesn't settle anything but still maybe it means Ben is good thru Season 6

Still, she was not one of the "candidates"... Even if this meant that at some point Juliet is going to die, I guess the "Death List" still stands, if we are to attach any credibility to it Also just as an aside (that got me panicking) in the interview on the Bonnie Hunt show Michael said something along the lines of that he and Carrie hadn't got a dog 'til now as it wouldn't be possible with all the flying to and from Hawaii ....... but now they are getting the dog!! Am I reading too much into this? I really hope I am Yes i thought the exact same thing when he said that too Ok, wait... Hopefully that means that he's done season 2 (well, part of it), 3, 4, 5, in a year they'll be done shooting the 6th, so, whatever happens to Ben in season 6, they will be able to take the dog soon. What I mean is... I refuse to believe that with all the secrecy surrounding the story, the fact that he can never fully answer to the questions related to the characters' future, etc, he would let something like that slip. Like "Oh, I have no idea what happens, and even if I did I couldn't talk. Anyway, next month I'll leave Hawaii forever, so we can finally take a dog"

Calm down gals, I don't he meant that comment that way at all. What I got from it is that Carrie is done waiting to get a dog so LOST or not her birthday is the deadline and they are just going to have to make traveling back and forth from LA to Hawaii work.

Gotta say I'm still worried. If the 'candidates' list and Kristin are correct then we're down to either Daniel or Ben to die. Would you say that Daniel is a MAJOR character? - I'm not sure I would - major-ish maybe. Neither would I say he was much loved (maybe I'm wrong). Ben however is both - also with Locke now being the leader what is Ben's role in season 6? Oh I seriously hope I'm being majorly paranoid, but I've got a horrible feeling
