Hello one and all,
As promised, I'm back. Still lots going on here in my personal life, but what can I say? I didn't want to stay away.
I have deleted nearly all my online accounts associated with my "Pedantic Bohemian" userID--since that seems to be how my stalker found me. I moved my blog under that name somewhere else and stripped a lot of the content out of it.
I also used this opportunity to separate my "fangirl" persona from my professional one. I realized agents and publishers will likely not find it amusing to see my geek girl stuff all over a site supposedly promoting my novel.
Duh!
So, for all fangirl purposes, I'm now Camille Moriarty. Those not familiar with Jack Kerouac's epic novel, "On the Road," Camille was Dean Moriarty's second wife.
The new links for all my fangirlishness can be found in my sig.
Good to be back...

Nice moniker. I think it's a reference to Ben's bogus I.D. he used to check into a hotel in Toczur, Tunisia, in TSOTTC.

Thanks, everyone! Yes, Jack Kerouac's " On the Road" was the first book in the Lost Book Club from season 1. Then, as Mythic said, Ben's alias in TSOTTC was "Dean Moriarty." I recently did a post on the blog about the possible connections between Ben Linus and Dean Moriarty. Some of the more troubling elements we've seen in Ben's story have parallels in the character of Dean Moriarty. Though, admittedly everything we've experienced thus far in Lost is through the eyes of the Lostaways and their own particular bias. They are outsiders to the story with no concept of the big picture. Accidental, albeit unwilling, tourists if you will. Lost and Kerouac: Plots Within PlotsKnowing TPTB and their penchant for a million and one layers of subtext, I'm of the opinion that all this is some "war in heaven" story with the Others as the angels forced into servitude to a less than compassionate "god" leader. The connections to Heinlein's " Stranger in a Strange Land," and LeGuin's " Lathe of Heaven" also seem to support this idea. I will admit however--taking " Lathe of Heaven" into literal consideration--if this ends up being some Vishnu-esque dream of earth by a navel-gazing Jacob, I'll be more than a bit disappointed. There is so much of this sort of language-- Frightful Angel, Shrouded Traveler, et al--used to describe Dean Moriarty in " On the Road", it's not coincidence that name was used as Ben's alias. Dean is the enigma of the book, who should be hated, but is not only loved despite his glaring faults/sins, but is lauded as the ultimate hero.

Dean is the enigma of the book, who should be hated, but is not only loved despite his glaring faults/sins, but is lauded as the ultimate hero. Your website is awesome, excellent graphics. I do think "Lost" is ultimately about two gods playing a game, using people as board pieces. Although the term "game" is meant in a larger sense. It's actually a struggle if you will, between Jacob and Loophole to prove to the other who's right, and thus win the game be the ruler of the world. I think that's the underlying theme, but I don't think (and hope) that's how the TV series will play out. I think it will always be portrayed from the POV of the Lostaways and the Others, because essentially that's how we relate to the game, the board pieces. I'd really like if the board pieces would actually revolt and change the rules and turn it on the players and run them off the planet. Anyway, keep sharing your ideas and theories here.
