I think the guy has some valid points. Michael had more chances to display a wider range of his acting skills and his virtuosity in the previous sessions, especially in TSOTTC. But even with a more constricted story line in S5, I think Michael shone through. It actually called on him to rein it in and go for nuance (even more than he already did in S2). I couldn't comment much more than that. Only another actor would have an appreciation for that kind of acting skill. But I agree that the vote for him was a validation of everything he's done in all four seasons. |

Yeah to be honest his acting was a lot more powerful in S4 than S5, mostly because Ben was a bit of a follower and not the leader anymore.
But maybe that's just it, maybe it's because his character had a change in S5 and yet Michael managed to make him not like defeated, but to keep us in suspense that something else is going to happen with Ben.

I and many others commented that the Emmys were only looking at "Dead Is Dead" and not S5 as a whole for Michael. And DID had Michael in pretty much every scene, and had most of his scenes with Terry, so that had to carry some weight. In other news, Celeb Buzz has a video of Carrie talking about Michael on the red carpet- and sharing on how she cringes during Ben's various beatings. Thank you for this link, Bobdoc. I actually share some of this blogger view. I don't want to sound desrespectful, though! You are not alone. I shared the blogger's view. The truth of the matter was that Michael deserved to win the Emmy win 2007 when Terry won the award. And Terry really should have won his award in 2005. So, in essence, both of these men were given the Emmy postfact. At least, they were given the Emmy. It was well deserved for both men. |

And the kiss??? It seems so natural and sincere...a true kiss!!!
And this words in a Hawaiian language...for me, it's soooo important. I speak Catalan and Spanish, but for the rest of Spain, Catalan it's a weird language.
Some people don't respect us. Michael show to the people a wonderful language, the traditional old language of Hawaii...I'm sure that he respect it and respect the traditions and culture as well.

In his acceptance speech, he says, "I salute my steadfast and beautiful wife, Carrie, my fine representation, and all the brilliant producers and artists" and so on. What does it mean when he says "my fine representation"? Who is he talking about?  |

Thanks a lot Ali!  At first I thought he was talking about an agency or a person who represents him, but after a while I wasn't so sure anymore... I thought maybe it meant something else, like, I don't know, the people who were there that night representing Lost, Darlton and co. It would have been a bit weird to say "my fine representation" in that case, but English is not my first language and I needed to be sure! I belong to a group of amateur translators who make Italian subtitles for a large number of TV series... In Italy foreign movies and series are dubbed, so there's usually a delay between the US/UK and Italian broadcasts; for this reason a lot of people prefer to watch the episodes in English with (free) Italian subtitles instead of waiting several months for the dubbed version. By the way, I can't stand Ben's Italian voice!!! It's SOOOOOOO different and does not suit the character AT ALL! Plus I can't imagine missing such a big part of Michael's amazing performance  Anyway I'm glad I don't need to use subtitles myself, because I find them very distracting, I really think I would tend to read them even if I were watching an Italian movie with Italian subtitles ;D The point is - we decided to release subtitles for the Emmy night; I volunteered to participate and of course when he won  I asked if I could pleeeeeease  have a part which included the Supporting Actor award  That's why I wanted to be sure before handing in my part.
