This is the rarest kind of Lost episode - one not starring Ben or any of the Lockes, and yet one in which everyone is convinced we're getting an all-time classic. Considering what's being promised tonight, you can guess why. Reminder: this one is airing from 9 to 10:06 tonight, just like The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham - and I think we know how that one turned out. "Ab Aeterno" Written by Melinda Hsu Taylor & Greggory Nations Directed by Tucker Gates
Richard Alpert faces a difficult choice.

I have to laugh at this bobdoc - you put the spoiler tag for the episode name yet the topic thread IS the episode name

The spoiler tag is mainly meant for the brief episode description. I just put the ep title, and the writers and director, along with it for formatting purposes.

The Canadians actually got to view this episode two hours before us - and in an episode poll at polldaddy.com/polls/preview.php?id=2941225 out of the first 500+ voters, a whopping 86% of those Canadian viewers voted it "Awesome" So we might have one happy fandom in the States in about another hour.

"Ab Aeterno." I was not all that impressed by it.It was OK, and Richard's love story was nice. But we already had an epic love story with Desmond and Penny, so it wasn't as if the show needed another one. And I'm just hoping all this talk about hell and "Evil Incarnate" is just misdirection, or I will be disappointed. I would have hoped those themes would have been much more nuanced and complex. It was all just a bit too simplistic for me. oops, sorry about the omitting spoiler tags

Um - mythic - I had the same question as Edith. We got a few answers and it was nice to see Richard's humble accidental homicidal past. Crossed off the checklist - statue being ruined, why Jacob doesn't butt4 in, why the island is there.
seriously - I LOVE Hurley, I LOVE Richard, but did we need an episode of the Ghost Whisperer.
Best lines - "This is going to be interesting"..."If It's any consolation it isn't really Locke" - Ben Linus BOO YA

I voted 10. During watching it I had a feeling that it is not a regular episode of a series I`m watching, but it`s an entire movie. Historical movie. Ab Aeterno.

I enjoyed the episode, mostly because I love costume movies and XIX° century's ghost stories But Richard was cooler when he was a mistery, sometimes less is more. I don't buy the Good vs Evil thing, both Jacob and MiB act like manipulative d-bags. Did you see the wheels turning in Ben's head? I did

K, watched a second time, and even tho it's ranking high among List viewers, the only thing different I have to offfer by way of criticism is that the island has bad barbers, judging from Jacob and the MIB's haircuts.
