Trust me, Desmond is going to swoop in and change the game. I just know it!!! One major question I have concerns the Man in Black/Smokey. What happened to his body? If he can now only appear in bodily form as Locke, what has happened to the body we've seen conversing with Jacob? Did he "die," leaving only the Smoke Monster to exist until he could find a new body to inhabit? I would love to know what happened to this original MIB.

I realize that I will inevitably be disappointed with some aspects of how LOST ends. We have had several seasons to think about it, dwell on it, develop our opinions about what it is. The resolution is bound to disappoint in some ways, but if the core of the story holds together, and — more and more I'm convinced this is necessary — if it doesn't lose its mystery, I will on balance be very pleased. At this point, with all they've filled in and confirmed, there's really only a few questions I have left on a big picture level. They only need to answer these - and do it well of course - to provide a satisfying ending, IMO. 1. Although we now know the island's purpose, why is this specific island the host of this grand battle? 2. Likewise, although we now know why the survivors were needed by Jacob/the island, why were these specific people chosen as candidates? 3. What is the truth behind the Jacob/MIB war? 4. How did the MIB become the smoke monster? 5. What is the truth behind the Ben/Widmore war, and how did it impact the larger Jacob/MIB struggle? 6. Will the real John Locke ever come back? 7. Why is Desmond so significant? 8. Why do the flash sideways exist? Those are really the last questions I urgently need answered by now. The rest are just for filling in smaller pieces, and for character resolution. Oh. A very clear summary of the main questions. and, I will add one more - what was the role of the Dharma Initiative on the island, in Lost as a whole?. . because season 5 was mainly focused on DI (especially the second part of the season). Why?. . And why did the Smoke Monster kill particular people (Mr Eko, the pilot, the French team), what is the criterion of his choice whom to kill?. . Above there was a question - why did Jacob fight against Richard, and just let Ben kill him?.. Probably, he let Ben kill him because he knew that someone would replace him soon as there were already six candidates to replace him?. . but in 1867 there were not any candidates. He knew that one of those days, sooner or later, MiB would find his loophole and kill him, so he was preparing the ground in 1980s when he came to see little Kate, little Sawyer... and, probably, he was tired of living for centuries?

yes, i agree with all of you, I don`t buy this hell-devil thing either. And, moreover, after the season 1 or 2 Darlton denied the version that it was Hell. . .but...probably, they changed their minds?

Mythicfeline: That's exactly my feeling. But although I'm not happy with the end of Babylon 5, I still love that show more than all others (perhaps with the exceptions of Firefly , Lost and Dr. Who) and after 5,5 really good seasons (with a few not so good episodes perhaps), I don't think, that I will be so dissapointed by Lost, that I never want to watch it again I really liked that episode. It's interesting to learn, what motivation Richard had to join Jacob. And his wish for eternal life is horrific - I don't think, he thought that through. Perhaps as a good Catholic, he was so terrified at the thought of burning in hell, he didn't want to die. I wonder if he would change that wish, given the chance. After that episode, I like the character Richard even more. He is a complicated guy. I must say, I love this season so far. There was that weak Kate episode, but even that had some good elements. The other episodes were great.

Remember, with no new episode tonight, ABC is airing this one again in it's place.
