Zoe stared at Juliet in shock, her mouth open, but the words wouldn't come out.
"You didn't know." Juliet replied, just as in much suprise, Ben walked forward, allowing his presence to be more established. Juliet turned on him. "You didn't tell her?" She asked angrily. Ben glanced from her to Zoe, and spoke to her.
"Well, you ran off before I got the chance." He explained to her.
"We were in your little control room, talking for ages! You are telling me you never found the right time to tell me? Hang on a minute - how did you even know in the first place?" Zoe replied, feeling her blood begining to boil.
"When we brought you back, we took some tests." Ben explained to Zoe, glancing back to Juliet. "As you well know, it was Juliet's job to find out whether any women were pregnant, and after finding out you were close to Charlie, I had to find out."
"I don't believe this." Zoe replied shaking her head.
"There is a lot to understand. A lot to take in. This conversation could really be done better if we are somewhere comfortable, where you can sit down, and I can explain it all - why this is all so important." Ben replied calmly.
"What makes you think I can trust anything you tell me?" Zoe screamed at Ben. Ben remained calm.
"Zoe, it is too dangerous to talk about it out here, please. Come back to the village. If you don't we could all die." Ben replied to her calmly. Zoe stood and thought for a moment, and then nodded at him, Ben, Juliet and herself all headed back to the village, back to Ben's house and into his living room. Zoe paced the room, while Ben and Juliet sat down. Richard was there in the house too, he was sat on one of the sofas.
"Well then Ben, you better explain it in full detail - why you tested me to see if I were pregnant, then why you didn't tell me when you found out, on top of that killing the father, the man I loved unconditionally -Charlie, and you say you want me alive, but then you sent Mikhail down to the Looking Glass to kill us all! So what is the truth Ben? You wanted me dead, don't deny it. What game are you playing exactly?" Zoe shouted at him.

Jack came in seeing Zoe shouting at Ben, "Do you mind keeping the noise down! Sophie is resting just next door."
"Sorry Jack, Zoe will be less quieter" said ben glaring at her.
"I need a word with you Ben."
"Jack it can wait...."
"It's about Sophie."
Ben stood up and headed jack into another room with him.
"Whats wrong? Is she ok?"
"Shes fine..."
"And the baby?" Ben was hoping the island had formed a miracle.
"Thats the thing Ben, there never was a baby. She was never pregnant!"

Zoe couldn't believe how she was being treated. She had just exposed Ben for what he had done to her - to Charlie. To his own people, and yet here she was being told to shut up. She wasn't having it. She stormed out the house without warning, Richard following her on her unawares.
As well as her own problems, something had been bothering her. Like why Ben didn't return with the girl he had by gun to her head earlier. Mel. She was worried about her, especially as she had been so kind and helped her. Zoe navigated her way through the jungle, tracking where Ben had dragged Mel with him.

Hey Zoe, if that last part messes you up, let me know and I can change it.
Desmond noticed Ben as he walked back into the village with Zoe and Juliet. He walked over to Sayid, who was nearby.
"You saw Ben drag Mel off right, brutha?" he asked.
Sayid nodded, "Yes."
"You didn't see her come back did you?"
"No. What is your point Desmond?"
"What do you think he has done to her?"
Sayid shook his head, "I can imagine, but honestly, I don't really care. She is one of them."
"Are you sure?" Desmond asked, questioning his own thoughts about Mel.
"I am. Desmond, before you go worrying about Mel, remember something. She was the one who held a gun on Ben in the first place." Sayid finished and walked away from Desmond.

Mel screamed in pain as she pulled hard against the bonds at her wrists. She had been working non-stop to free herself from the shack. It was beginning to get dark and she really didn't want to be around then.
She couldn't explain what she had seen when Ben was thrown up against the wall hours before. When she had looked back at the chair she had seen a man sitting there staring at Ben. Before she could even look away he had vanished. She had asked Ben who or what it was but he wouldn't answer her. He was so furious by then that he knocked her out with the gun and tied her up.
Mel pulled at the ropes again as she felt warm blood flowing from the cuts on her wrists. Finally, the ropes came free and she was able to bring her arms in front of her. She untied the ropes around her ankles and stood shakily.
Without looking towards the empty chair she ran for the door. But when she tried to yank open the door it wouldn't budge. She pulled it frantically but got nothing. She took a chance glance behind her and saw the man in the chair. He slowly turned his head and looked her direction.
"No!" she screamed. She didn't know what was going on but she was truly scared of what would happen if she stayed there.
"Help!" she screamed banging on the door. "Somebody please help me!"
Suddenly the whole shack began to shake. Jars started falling off of shelves and things went flying across the room. A jar filled with some kind of red liquid flew at Mel and crashed against her side covering her with what she found to be blood.
"No." she pleaded. "Ben, please!"
She continued to pound on the door uselessly. Finally the shaking stopped and she sank to the floor. She took one last look at the man in the chair and the name "Jacob" flashed into her mind. Then she closed her eyes and everything went black.

When Mel woke next she was being carried. She opened her eyes and saw Richard.
"Good, you're awake." he smiled down at her.
"What happened?" she asked.
"We found you passed out in the jungle. You were covered in blood but thankfully it wasn't yours."
Mel wondered how she had gotten outside of Jacob's cabin but didn't ask.
"Who is we?"
"Me." Zoe said as she stepped into Mel's range of view.
"Hi." Mel said.
"I'm sorry I didn't help when I saw Ben taking you away. Look what he has done to you."
"No, no. I'm glad you didn't. Who knows what he would have done if you confronted him. I did and got left for dead in the jungle."
"So Ben did this to you?" Richard asked.
"In a round about way, yes. Where is he?"
"He came back to the village." Richard answered.
"Where are we going?"
"To the village." Zoe said while smiling cynically. "I think we both have some unfinised business there."

"What are you talking about Jack?" said Ben surprised.
"I think you need to discuss this with Sophie!" said Jack l
"Not now i will deal with later!" Jack left him alone. Ben was angry, why would she lie to him! he saw a book grabbing it slung at the wall with anger.
Closing his eyes he took a breath calming himself down. He opened his eyes, again and left to see her.

When Mel, Richard and Zoe reached the village Mel asked to stop just outside it.
She turned to Richard, "Thank you for your help Richard but I'm just not ready to face him yet. I'll lie low in Ethan's house for a little while. Please don't tell him I'm here. I need to figure out how to deal with this."
Richard nodded and smile in understanding, "I won't say anything. But I wouldn't worry too much. Jack gave Ben some information that should keep him occupied." He finished as he left for the village.
Mel turned to Zoe, "Thanks Zoe, for everything."
"Hey, don't worry about it. Some of us have got to stick together right?" she said smiling sadly.
"Are you okay?" Mel asked.
Zoe shook her head, "With Charlie gone I wasn't sure if I could go on and then Juliet and Ben told me I was pregnant."
"What? You're pregnant?" Mel exclaimed.
Zoe nodded, "I can't believe it."
"Congratulations Zoe. Maybe William will have a new friend to play with soon. Don't worry too much, I think this island has a way of working things out for the good ones."
"What about you?" Zoe asked, "You're not a bad person yet you keep having to deal with all of this crap. Ben just tried to kill you!"
"If Ben had wanted to kill me he easily could have. I do wish I could figure out why I am here. I feel like I am needed but I don't know why. And I can't figure out Ben to save my life. One minute he tells me he needs me and the next he ties me up in the jungle."
"He tied you up?" Zoe asked.
"Yeah, but I was able to get free. Listen, all I'm saying is don't give up yet. You're a fighter, so get out there and fight."
Zoe nodded, "Thanks Mel."
Mel looked toward the village, "Are you coming?"
"No, not right now at least. I just want to hang out by myself for a while. Try to wrap my head around everything that is happening."
"Okay, be safe?" Mel said turning towards the village.
"I will." Zoe called before she was out of sight.

As Zoe walked through the village and headed back to the village, she heard strange whispers echoing around her.
"Can she see us? We better move, find somewhere, does she know? She loves me. She's pregnant. They know. She's seen me! Shut up, she hasn't. Ethan's her dad. I know. I wish I could have started over...."
Zoe couldn't hear what they were saying, they spoke to fast, she was startled, and ran as fast as she could through the village, non stop, ignoring the heavy stitch that formed at her side until the pain was so unbareable, she collapsed on the jungle floor. She clutched her hip, a desperate attempt to stop it from hurting. She felt her tummy chruning, something riled up her throat, Zoe sat up quickly, and leant to one side, throwing up into one of the bushes. She shivered suddenly, feeling cold, she placed her head in her hands and began to weep.
A few moments later, she felt a hand placed on her shoulder. Zoe looked up, and saw Charlie standing over her, smiling with that familiar cheeky grin, on of the things that had made her fall in love with him...

Mel was able to sneek to Ethan's old house without being seen. Once she got inside she shut the door behind her and took and deep breath.
She looked around her, nothing had changed since she had last been there. Memories of her months spent with Ethan came flooding back to her.
What had happened to her life? Only seven months ago she had been happy and in love. Now she was stuck on an island and fighting for her life. The only good thing that had come out of everything was William. She prayed he was still safe at the Hydra.
After taking a hot shower to wash off the blood from Jacob's cabin Mel sat at the kitchen table and put her head in her hands. She had to figure out what she was going to do about Dharma and Ben.

Zoe's face fell with disappointment as she saw Charlie.
"I know your not real." She said sadly, looking away from him. Zoe felt herself being liften up from under her arms, as Charlie forced her to face him.
"If I am not real," He said, almost nose to nose with each other, "would I be able to do this?" And then he kissed her. Zoe's hands moved to softly touch his cheeks as she kissed him back.
"What are we going to do?" Zoe whispered as she pulled away from Charlie, looking at him, her eyes glazed as she tried to hold back her tears. Charlie smiled at her.
"What must be done." He replied. A sudden movement made them both jump. Charlie placed a finger on his lips to indicate that they both should remain quiet. The noise was getting nearer, Zoe could hear voices again.
"Run." Charlie said suddenly, looking at Zoe seriously.
"What?" Zoe asked half in a daze.
"Run!" Charlie repeated. Suddenly, a man in a mask, carrying a backpack on his back, with a gun readily aimed came into view. Zoe gasped with horror and began to run through the jungle in pure panic. The man shouted after her, but she ignored it. She could here him running after her though, and he started to fire shots at her. Zoe's hands went over her head as she tried to drown out the sound of the loud high pitched guns shots, also in attempt to shield her head, screaming and shouting as she ran.
Then it happened.
Zoe felt a painful white hot sensation as one of the bullets peirced through her right shoulder, and she crashed to the ground, clutching her shoulder in sever pain. She heard the man who was chasing her catch her up, but yet, she still wasn't ready to give up. She tried to crawl away on her back, but it was useless. The man stepped over her, altho his face was hidden, she could have sworn that he had a big satisfied grin on his face under it , as he held his gun casually. She closed her eyes tightly, her shoulder beyond pain, as she screamed with it, wishing it would stop. As the man spoke, she opened her eyes to look at her killer, her vision becoming blurred.
"You shouldn't have run." He scoffed, hitting her over the head with the end of his gun, knocking her out instantly.

Sophie stirred from hearing ben come in. she sat up a little on the bed, winching at the pain. Ben sat down beside her. He leaned forward like he was going to kiss her, but instead he grabbed at her throat as tight as he could.
"You weren't Pregnant were you!" he snapped.
"Ben..... i can't breathe....."
"TELL ME!" Sophie shook her head. Ben losened his grip. "Why?"
"Because i love you. It was his idea." she cried. "Please let go" she pleaded.
"Who?"
"Richard...." Ben let go. Pulling away from her, getting up and moving to the door. "He said it was what Jacob wanted! Jacob wants us to be together!" she cried but her voice was going from Ben's tight grip he had on her.
Ben turned around, looking at her. "Jacob wouldn't of wanted you to lie to me!", as he headed out the door
