Zoe and Charlie walked through the jungle, Zoe trying to remember where to go to go back to the village. They had been walking for a few hours when Zoe spotted someone in the distance.
"Charlie - can you see who that is from here?" Zoe asked, squinting to see. Charlie looked ahead.
"It's John Locke." He replied finally. They exchanged looks, and Zoe tightened her grip on Charlie's hand and ran towards him. John Locke turned to see who was approaching them, and both she and Charlie halted a few feet in front of him.
"Locke!" Zoe greeted. "We haven't seen you in days. Where have - oh my god, what happened to you?"
"I got shot." Locke replied. "I'll be fine though. Why aren't you with the others?"
"I - well, I went with Charlie and Desmond, to the Looking Glass, to unblock the signal." Zoe explained. Locke frowned at her looking at Charlie and Zoe holding hands, and then back at Zoe quizzically.
"What happened down there?" He asked.

"She'll be ok, the bullet is out, i stopped the bleeding, though there was alot of blood." said jack looking around her, and the room, like there had been a massacre "she will be very weak, will just monitor her......." Ben sat listening to jack as he looked at sophie. "I doubt the baby survived ben....."
"I don't care, I'm just glad shes alive..." ben sighed, leaning in kissing her forehead.

Mel stayed with the prisoner while nearly everyone else went to the village. Sayid stayed behind and watched her from a distance.
Finally the man spoke, "What are you playing at?" he asked roughly.
Mel shrugged, "I'm not playing at anything." she said as she sat down in front of him. "Now, let's talk about the Dharma Initiative."

"We unblocked the signal - we ran into a bit of trouble though - there were two women. Bonnie and Greta. There to keep the signal blocked and stop us from unblocking it, then Mikhail showed up, he tried to kill us all. Charlie nearly drowned. We all thought we lost him." Zoe explained as he looked at Charlie and hugged him. "Didn't we?" Charlie nodded looking a Locke and smiled Locke continued to stare towards Charlie, then glanced back at Zoe, a puzzled look on his face, then his eyes brightened, as if just realising something.
"Why are you looking it me like that?" Zoe asked curiously.
"Like what?" Locke asked.
"I dunno - like you know something we don't." Zoe replied. Locke looked at her carefully.
"Nothing." He replied. "So where are you going now?"

Jack moved Sophie to a bed and laid her down, Ben went with him,
"I'll give you some space" he said leaving the room. Ben pulled a chair beside the bed sitting with her. He held her hand, as he watched her lay there.

Sophie stirred up, she felt awful pain shooting through, she felt really weak, and wanted to puke. But then she looked over to Ben the pain going away she smiled, as he had driftied of to sleep. She squeezed his hand which stirred him.
"Sophie!" he whispered. leaning towards her. He could see her eyes starting to well up with tears.
"I'm....sorry...." she whispered.
"Shhh you have nothing to be sorry about" he carressed her cheek. "You need to rest..."
"Don't leave me," she begged.
"I won't. I'm right here!" he smiled back as he stroked her hand, sending her drifiting off to sleep again

John Locke had decided to join Zoe and Charlie in walking to the village, Zoe leading the way, trying to remember it, forgetting Locke had been there already.
"You're going the wrong way." Locke said suddenly as Zoe changed direction to what she thought would lead them to the village.
"I am?" She asked.
"Yeah, you want to go this way." Locke pointed in the opposite direction. "Perhaps we should follow my lead, I know where we are going." Zoe looked at Charlie, and he nodded at her, she looked back at Locke and nodded at him.
"Okay, lead the way." Zoe replied and she and Charlie followed him. They moved a little more in silence before John spoke up again.
"Zoe, have you ever thought of what your destiny is?" He asked her.

Mel punched the man in the face, hard.
"What was that for?" he exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, but I had to make this interrogation look real."
"I told you what you wanted to know!"
"You did. Thank you." Mel said as she turned to leave.
"Where are you going?" he asked as blood dripped down his face.
"Not far. Just to the village." Mel answered without turning back. She walked quickly. She knew she looked determined and she was. She needed to talk to Ben and get some answers. According to what the man had just told her, Ben may have killed them all.

"What a parculiar question. No I haven't really." Zoe replied, exchanging a puzzled look with Charlie.
"Zoe, did I ever tell you I looked into the eye of this island?" Locke asked. Zoe shook her head.
"Well, I did, and what I saw - was beautiful. Zoe, this island can communicate with you, and I believe it is doing so now." Locke explained to her. Zoe and Charlie exchanged puzzled looks again before she stepped forward.
"I don't understand." Zoe said to him.
"Look behind you." Locke replied. Zoe turned, expecting to see nothing but the jungle and Charlie - except, he wasn't there.
"Charlie?" Zoe said preplexed.

whoa Zoe, I totally didn't see that one coming!!
Mel shoved open the door to Ben's room. She saw him sitting next to Sophie as she slept.
Ben jumped when the door collided with the wall. "Mel, quiet. Sophie is sleeping." He said as he turned towards her.
"Get up." Mel said.
"What?" he asked.
Mel didn't bother to lower her voice, "Get up now!"
Ben didn't move, "What has gotten into you Mel? I'm not going anywhere."
Mel reached behind her back and pulled a gun out of the waistband of her jeans. She pointed it at Sophie.
Ben tried not to looked panicked, "Where did you get that?"
"From our new friend. It seems Sayid didn't search him well enough. Now get up and walk out that door or I will shoot her."
"You won't."
Mel looked straight into Ben's eyes, "Won't I?" she challenged.
Ben looked from Mel to the gun and then to the still sleeping Sophie. He lowered his head, "Very well."
"Good. Now stand up and walk."

Mel led Ben at gunpoint to the courtyard of the village.
When she told him to stop he turned around, "What is this about Mel? Not another one of your tantrums I hope. I..."
He wasn't able to continue because Mel backhanded him with the gun still in her hand. He fell to the ground but remained conscious.
"What have you done?" she screamed at him as she lost her composure.
"What?" he struggled while looking up at her.
"You fool! Did you not think there would be reprecusions for you actions?"
Ben pulled himself to his feet, "I don't know what you are talking about."
"So many lies. I don't know how you keep them all together." Mel said pointing the gun at Ben once more. "Did you think you could keep this from me forever?"
Ben grew frustrated, "Keep what from you?" she yelled at her.
"The prisoner told me a story Ben. Would you like to hear it?" Mel asked as she noticed the survivors coming out of the houses to see what was going on.
Ben froze, "No."
"He told me that many years ago the Dharma Initiative worked on this island. He said that you came to the island with your father. Then he told me something I didn't believe at first but the more I thought about it the more it made sense."
"Mel, do not do this." Ben warned her.
She ignored him, "He told me that all of those people died. More than that Ben, they were murdered. And you are the one who killed them. Now they are back to settle the score. All because you decided to play God."
Ben looked around as the survivors moved closer, "Mel, please."
She moved close to him to whisper into his ear, "I know I told you I would help you Ben, but you've put everyone in danger. They are going to kill everyone on the island. It won't be long before they find out about the Hydra and William will be in danger. I need to save him."
Ben nodded, "I understand Mel. I am sorry."
"What are you sorry for?" she asked looking up at him puzzled.
"For this." he said as he ripped the gun out of her hands. He shoved the gun to her head as his free arm wrapped around her neck and began to drag her backwards towards the jungle.

"Charlie!" Zoe shouted, checking behind trees panically, sure that this was just some sick joke he was playing, then she stormed over to John.
"John, where did he go?" She demmanded to know.
"He didn't go anywhere Zoe. He's where you left him." John replied.
"No, you're wrong!" Zoe protested stubbornly. "He was here. He was right here!"
"I'm sorry Zoe. But Charlie really is gone. The island - the island was speaking to you through him. The island wants you to know your destiny. You should listen." John continued.
"You're lying! You're lying! Charlie is alive, I - I - I saw him. You saw him!" Zoe continued to protest.
"No I didn't." Locke replied. "If I had taken a photo of you when you approached, you would have seen your hand, clutching mid air." Zoe refused to believe him.
"You're wrong." She replied angrily, and stromed off away from him in the opposite way to where Locke was leading them. Locke called after her.
"You're not supposed to do this! You're not supposed to go back to them!" Locke shouted after her, but Zoe ignored him, realising at the same time that Locke had been trying to lead her away in the opposite direction of the village, but she was close. She heard sudden movement nearby - almost like struggling. She was far enough away from John now, but she needed to hide before she was spotted. She didn't want to see anyone now, particuarly Ben, at least not until she could expose him to everyone else for what he had done to her.
Zoe hid behind some thick, well covered bushes, and peered through inbetween the leaves. It was Ben. He had Mel at gun point, dragging her swiftly and easily through the jungle. Zoe stayed silent, and watched on, scared and not sure what to do.

Mel forced herself to stay calm as Ben drug her through the jungle. She knew she had pushed him to the edge she just never expected him to snap like this.
She was thankful that no one from the village had come after them. She knew that Ben would have shot them if they tried.
"Ben, where are we going?" she asked him, trying to ignore the gun he held against her head.
"Be quiet Mel. I'm quite done being patient with you."
Mel noticed a small movement in the bushes to the right of her. Ben was facing the other way and hadn't seen it. Zoe poked her head out of the brush and Mel's eyes got wide. She shook her head at Zoe telling her not to try to help her. It would be too dangerous.
Zoe looked conflicted, but then nodded sadly and sunk back into the trees.

Ben and Mel moved quickly through the jungle and didn't stop until they came to a run down old shack.
"What is this place?" Mel asked feeling uneasy.
Ben shoved her in front of him and aimed the gun at her back. "Move." he ordered. "Get inside."
Mel didn't think it was a good idea to go inside the shack but she didn't really have a choice so she opened to door and stepped inside.
When they were both inside Ben slammed the door behind him, his anger still hadn't abated.
"Jacob!" he called.
"Who is Jacob?" Mel asked.
"Shut up!' he yelled at her, waving the gun.
Ben turned and looked at an empty chair. He began talking to it, "Jacob, there you are. I know I shouldn't have brought her here but she has to understand."
Ben was quiet for a moment as if he was listening to something. Mel took a step closer.
Ben shook his head, "No, you have to show her! She has to see!" he cried.
Mel watched Ben carefully, convinced he had gone off the deep end.
"Ben?" she asked moving even closer. "Who are you talking to?"
Ben ignored her, still lost in his conversation with the chair. "Tell her now!" he demanded of the chair. Suddenly Ben was thrown back and collided violently with the wall.
Mel looked from him to the chair, "Oh my God."

Zoe moved into the clearing when Ben had disappeared with Mel, concerned for her, and hoping she would be alright. Juliet suddenly ran into the clearing and spotted her.
"Zoe." Juliet whispered half shocked. "What are you doing here? We lost you - we thought something awful had happened to you." Juliet came over to her, placing her hand on Zoe's shoulder gently. "Are you okay."
"Er....well, better them some." Zoe replied awkwardly. Juliet looked her up and down.
"Are you sure, you look like you've just seen a ghost." Juliet replied worridly.
"Yeah." Zoe replied unconvincingly, herself unsure.
"You know Ben has been worried about you. He sent a search party after you disappeared when we headed back to the village. We thought one of them had got you." Juliet explained to her. Zoe looked at her confused, herself not knowing much about what was going on, her mind having been troubled on other things, she hadn't really taken in what had happened at the radio tower.
"What?" She asked vaguely, confused.
"The people Jack called. They aren't good, in fact, they are causing a lot of problems, which is not good news. Ben especially wanted to make sure you didn't get hurt. Particuarly now under your current circumstances. Sophie has already been through a traumtaic experience." Juliet explained briefly. Zoe frowned and look at Juliet in her eyes.
"What are you talking about?" Zoe asked, completly confused now.
Juliet replied as Ben emerged from the direction he had gone with Mel, but he was alone.
"You know - because you're pregnant."

Sophie woke up finding there was no Ben, Jack was sitting with her.
"Wheres Ben?!" she asked.
"I dunno" like he wasn't going to tell her he just took of with Mel.
"Oh... he said he would stay with me."
"What you should worry about is getting you better!" jack replied. checking her wound.

Mel woke slowly to a pounding headache. She opened her eyes and they tried to adjust to the dark room.
She looked around and realized she was still in the shack Ben had taken her to. It was empty except for her. She moved slightly and felt rope dig into her wrists.
She cursed. Ben must have tied her up and left her here alone. Well, not really alone, but she didn't want to think about what she had seen earlier.
She tested the ropes that bound her. They were tied tightly. She would have to think of something fast. She didn't have much time.
