Sophie Richard and John got back in time seeing the whole scene. Seeing Jack taking a wounded Mel to the village. Keamy glaring at Ben. Everyone starting to head back.
"Ben what happened?"she asked.
"I shot her! And what happened with you and Richard?" he snapped back
"What?"
"Nothing." Ben glanced over to John and headed over to him. "John its time!"
"Time for what?" Sophie asked following.
"Time to move the island." John replied.

"You're not going anywhere, Ben." Emma declared as she raised her gun and aimed at him. "Do you think you can try to kill someone and go unpunished? There are rules!"
Ben smirked and carelessly knocked Emma's gun out of her hand. "I understand the rules much better than you do, Emma. I've got business to attend to, and it's got nothing to do with your strange sense of injustice."
Sayid held Emma back to prevent her from taunting Ben any further. "This is not our fight," he said in a low, commanding voice. Emma nodded, but continued to glare at Ben fiercely.
Sayid then stepped up to Ben. "This is unfinished. Don't think that Keamy will let you go so easily."
Ben smirked again and deliberately turned his back to Sayid. He gestured toward John. "Let's go."
"Ben!" Emma called suddenly, realizing that Ben might be more useful as an ally. "I need to know if Jacob will allow people on this island to die again." She pointed to Oliver and Frank, still unconscious and tied to the trees. "It's the only way to permanently deal with Widmore's men. If you do that for me, I will keep Keamy off your back. It's a win-win situation for you, Ben." she smiled charmingly at him.
Ben turned to Emma, and nodded his agreement. "I'll see what I can do."

Richard rushed over. "Ben your not thinking straight what about Sophie? and your children. If you move the island... you will lose them."
"Then its sacrifice i have to take." John listened in clueless of what Richard and Ben were talking about. "Its what jacob wants." He glanced over to Sophie. "Take the good ones somewhere safe." Ben ordered at Richard. "John lets go...."
"Whoa wait where you going?" Sophie asked running over.
"Theres something i have to do. You have to stay with Richard. I'll be back soon." Ben leant in and kissed her cheek. Sophie could sense he was lying. His expression looked sad as he headed of determind to complete his task.

Sophie sat on the grass looking out to the jungle, Richard had setup a group of people to follow him into the jungle. Mostly they were the orginal others before the 815ers showed up in the village. He started to head them when he glanced over seeing Sophie had gone.
"s**t!" he mumbled, he quickly made sure her children were safe giving them to one of the women to look after. Then told the group to go off without him. Watching them leave. He rushed off in the other dierection for Sophie.

"How far is it?" John asked as they stopped to have a quick drink. But they heard rustling in the bushes, John grabbing his gun he aimed it. As Sophie rushed over quickly stopping herself seeing the gun.
"Sophie? What are you doing here?" Ben asked. John lowering his gun.
"I didn't want to miss out on the fun." she said panting

"Is she going to be okay?" Keamy asked after Jack had looked at Mel's wound.
They had laid her on the dining room table, a place she had been before when she had been hurt and Jack needed to operate. As Mel floated in and out of consciousness she found it ironic that the last time she had been shot, Ben had been the one holding the gun.
"She has lost a lot of blood, but the bullet seems to have missed her heart and any vital arteries."
"Can you save her?" Keamy asked, holding Mel's hand tightly in his own.
Jack looked up from Mel to Keamy, "I'm going to try."
"What about the baby?" he asked.
Jack shook his head, "I don't know."
"You've been shot too." Jack noted.
Keamy shrugged, "Worry about Mel."
Suddenly Juliet ran in the front door. "Oh my God." she said when she saw Mel. Tears came to her eyes at the sight of her old friend.
"Good, Juliet. I need your help. We have to remove the bullet."
Juliet stood motionless. Keamy left Mel's side and placed his hands on both sides of Juliet's face.
"Look at me please." he asked quietly.
Juliet shifted her watery eyes to his.
"I know that you and Mel used to be close friends. I know that some things have happened recently to pull the both of you apart, but she still cares about you. She talked about you all of the time, her dear friend Juliet. Now she needs your help. Will you help her?"
Juliet's eyes cleared at Keamy's words. She nodded her head, "Of course I will."
Keamy smiled sadly, "Thank you." He leaned close to her ear. "She is carrying our child. Please save them."
Juliet's eyes widened as Keamy released her and went back to Mel's side. She ran into the kitchen to scrub her hands. She was going to help save her friend.

"Are you certain this is what you want?" Christian asked the dark room.
Silence was his only answer.
"What if I can't do it?"
The room began to shake violently befor stopping suddenly.
Christian nodded, "I don't understand how you can ask this of me. But if it makes her safe, then it will be done."
He felt the atmosphere grow heavy. A number of thoughts bombarded his head, but one stood out from the rest.
"What do you mean she can die? I thought everyone was to live. Why is she different now?"
His questions were ignored and replaced by Jacob's overwhelming desire for his protege to live through her current trial.
"You must go, now." Jacob said out loud. "See that your task is done, and she will live. Do not fail me or her."
Christian nodded again, "I will see it done."
He turned to leave the cabin but was stopped.
"Benjamin is already on his way. You must reach your destination before he does."
Christian exited the cabin and closed the door behind him. "I will save her." Christian said darkly, as the image of Ben shooting Mel was sent to his mind from Jacob.

Emma returned to her home and was surprised to see Juliet assisting Jack with Mel's surgery. Keamy paced anxiously only a few feet away from the dining room table, which served as an operating table.
Juliet looked up when the door opened. "Welcome back, Emma," she said with obvious displeasure.
"Where is Desmond?" Emma asked frantically.
"He's with Sawyer. I think he's feeling better - at least he's well enough to grab for Charlie's toys."
Relieved, Emma couldn't help but smile at her old rival, but her smile was quickly replaced by concern. "Will Mel be all right?"
"We're doing our best," Jack replied.
"I'll leave you to it. But you should know that Richard has led a group away from the village. I don't know where they've gone, but I can't help but feel like something big is about to happen."
Jack chewed his lip thoughtfully. "We'll deal with that next."
Emma nodded. "I'll be outside with Sayid."
Jack nervously glanced up from his work at Sayid's name. If he and Emma became more than allies a second time, it would be his own fault for thrusting them together on their mission to locate his father.
"It's okay, Jack," Emma told him lovingly. "I'll be waiting for you."

Christian ran through the jungle at a furious pace. It didn't matter if anyone heard him. If he didn't make it to The Orchid before Ben, there would be hell to pay and Mel would be the one to pay it. He wasn't going to let that happen to her.

"Juliet!" Jack said as he tried to staunch the blood seeping from Mel's wound.
"What?" she asked.
"Run and get your ultrasound machine." he told her then added in a low voice so Keamy couldn't hear, "We need to see if her baby is still alive."
Juliet nodded once and was out the door.

"Sophie i want you to go back. The children they need you." Ben ordered.
"No! I'm here now." she said stubbornly.
"Fine. But your not gonna like whats about to happen." he said storming off ahead.
"Whats that suppose to mean?" she asked. But Ben ignored her and headed for the orchid.

Ben, John and Sophie had got to the Orchid, it was over grown and full of different tropical plants around it. Ben headed toward somes red flowers in a plant pot. Moving them he pulled up the shelf releaving a door. Open it John and Sophie realised it was a lift. They all got in as Ben activated it. The door shut and then the lift headed down.
It was a good 10 minutes before they reached the bottom. Ben went through to the station flicking light switches on, then started to fiddle with some machine. John started asking Ben questions about the station, Ben was getting annoyed so gave him a dharam tape to let him watch. John sat down and set up the video machine pressing play he watched as dr halliwax popped on the screen.
"Sophie can you find anything metal and place it in there please?" Ben asked her. Sophie nodded looking at the weird machine thing. It looked simliar to the box ben pushed her in before, when she went of time traveling.
"Ben, you know your not to metal objects in there?" John said after watching the tape. Halliwax specifically said not to as it was highly dangerous.
Ben nodded and carried on his task. When they heard the lift door go and the lift started to go back up.
"Expecting someone?" John asked, as they all stood there.

Christian stepped out of the lift to a surprised John Locke.
"Where is he?" Christian asked.
"Who?" John said innocently.
Christian sighed, tired of playing games, "Ben, where is Ben?"
"I'm right here Christian." Ben said as he stepped out of a dark corner. Sophie came to stand beside him. "Looking for revenge for your dear wife?"
Christian closed his eyes at the thought of Mel, clinging to her life back in the village. "Not revenge, no. We need to talk."

Juliet flipped the ultrasound machine on and rubbed the wand across Mel's stomach. She wasn't showing yet but Juliet would be able to see if her child was still alive.
Keamy still paced close by. His worry beginning to get the best of him. "Why is it taking so long?" he asked Jack.
"I'm doing all I can. She just doesn't seem to be responding." he answered.
Juliet studied the image that came up on the screen. "Oh my God." she whispered.
"What? What's wrong?" Keamy asked as he rushed to the table.
Juliet smiled with tears in her eyes as she looked at Mel. Despite being unconscious she looked peaceful. "There's nothing wrong. They're alive."
"They're?" both Keamy and Jack repeated.
"Yes." Juliet said, "Mel is going to have twins."

"No." Ben said firmly.
"This is not a debate Ben. Jacob gave me this task." Christian argued.
"He gave me this task! He wants me to do it!" Ben said forcefully.
Christian grabbed Ben's arm and pulled him away from Sophie and John. He didn't want them hearing what he was about to say. "Ben, if I don't move this island, then Mel is going to die. For whatever reason, her life is tied to the fate of the island. Jacob doesn't want her to die, I don't want her to die, and I know deep down you don't want that either."
"I shot her." Ben said.
"And I can read in your eyes that you regret it! I know that you think all of your problems would fade away if she was dead. But I see it differently. The two of you have been tied together for so long that if she dies, it will be the end of you."
Ben was confused at Christian's words, "Why are you saying this? She is your wife."
"And you love her as much as I do! You just have chosen to deny yourself your feelings. You put Mel in this situation Ben. Don't abandon her now when she needs you the most."
Ben was silent for a long moment. He found it hard to deny the truth in what Christian said, "All right, I will move the island and I will save Mel's life."
Christian shook his head at Ben's stubborness. This was not going to turn out well.

Ben went back to what he was doing, fiddlerling with the switches on a table it closed the vault door. John was still asking random questions when Ben interupted him.
"I would duck if i was you." Quickly crouching down behind the table. Sophie and Christian hidden behind a wall. Everything metal that was in vault blew up and made a big electrifrying explosion.
After it had cleared Ben went over to a locker and started to change, as Christian did the same.
"Ben what are you doing?" Sophie questioned him she felt a little unnerveing. She knew something was up and he wasn't telling her.
"Whats that for?" John asked, seeing Ben putting on a parka jacket.
"I'm going somewhere cold." Ben replied zipping it up.
"Cold?" Sophie asked as Ben walked by as if he was ignoring her questions.
"Then where is mine?" John questioned following him, seeing Christian wearing a similar outfit.
"You don't need one because you're not going with me."
"Yes, I am going with you."
"No, John, you're not." Ben snapped.
"Jacob told me what we had to do. You don't get to make all the decisions--"
"He told you what to do, but he didn't tell you how because he wants me to suffer the consequences."
"What consequences?"
"Whoever moves the island can never come back."
There was silent pause, Sophie realising what he meant ran up to him. "No no no no Ben you can't." she said holding him.
"I'm sorry i have too."
"No you don't! Christian is here. Jacob wants him to do it."
"And he wants me to do it too!!! He's punshing me!" Ben rasied his voice.
"But i need you. You can't leave the children." Sophie started to cry. Seeing that Ben held his tears back. Stroking a tear away from her face.
"Tell them i love them." He started to turn to head to the vault door. But Sophie grabbed him.
"No! You can't leave me. I won't let you."
"Sophie now you know why i didn't want you to come." he turned back at her. He looked across at Christian "I'll catch you up!" he said. Christian nodded and headed in to the vault.....
"If you loved me you wouldn't do this!" she spoke seeing the hurt and anger in her.
"I'm doing this because of you!"
"What?"
"Your supposed to be with Richard! It's what he wants."
"I don't care what Jacob wants! Break the rules." She snapped. "Fight for me."
"I did!" Ben rasied his voice again, "I did....." calming down, "I've been punished ever since. The tumour.....Alex death." Bens tears started to show. "Now this....."
"I'm coming with you." she said
"No! You have to stay, Thomas has to be raised up. To be the next great leader." he smiled.
"Don't leave me......" she begged crying.
"I'd like you to get on the elevator and go back up. Richard and my people will be waiting 2 miles east of the Orchid." Sophie stood there refusing to move. "I love you Sophie." Ben kissed her for the last time, a tear rolled down his cheek. It was the first time either John or Sophie had seen him break down. He pulled away "and remember this Sophie...." he leant in and whispered something in her ear. Sophie looked at him puzzled. Then hearing Ben call Johns name. She felt the grip of Johns hand on her arm, pulling her towards the lift.
"No! Get off me!" she screamed trying to fight off him. "Ben No! You don't have to do this!" she screamed. "Ben!"
But ben had gone, and Sophie had been pushed up and was already going up in the lift with John.

John pushed Sophie out when they reached the top. "John take me back down!" she demanded.
"I'm sorry Sophie."
"No! Theres still time! Get out of my way." she screamed trying to get John to move away from the lift door. She hit him in the chest, but he wouldn't budge.
"Sophie?" a voice said behind her. She turned to see Richard there.
"Richard i need to get back down there!" she screamed. "I can't loose him."
Then there was a beaming noise, similar to when the sky turned purple. A bright white light shoned everywhere the ground shook. Richard caught Sophie just before she fell to the ground. She pushed away and headed towards john. Hitting him in the chest crying. "John please! BEN!!!!!!!!!!" she screamed, crying her eyes out.
Then the light had gone. The ground stopped shaking, the noise dissappeared.
"Dammit John MOVE!"
"Sophie......it's too late! He's gone!" Richard spoke behind her. Sophie started slowly stop hitting john, she slipped down to the ground and broke down in tears.
"I'm so sorry.." Richard said crouching down beside her, going to wrap an arm around her. Before she swiped his arm away.
"Don't you dare touch me!" she growled.

Keamy looked at Juliet in shock. "We're having twins?"
Juliet smiled at him, "Yes Martin, you are."
Another hour passed as Jack worked furiously to save Mel. Finally he stepped away and pulled off his mask, "I've done all I can. Now it's up to Mel to wake up."
Keamy smoothed back Mel's hair, "Come on baby, you can do this. Please wake up." he pleaded.

As Christian stepped off the ladder into the cold room he took a quick look around him. It was just like Jacob had told him it would be. He heard Ben coming down the ladder and stepped out of his way. There was a snap and Ben came falling to the floor. Christian stepped over and helped him up.
"Christian, I think you misunderstood. I am going to do this by myself."
"Like hell you are. Jacob gave me this task."
"No." Ben said quietly, "He gave it to me a long time ago."
"Ben, I know you don't care about Mel anymore but I sure as hell do. She is my wife and if I can help save her then I will do anything."
Ben cringed at the word wife, thinking of his own whom he had just sent away. But he pushed the thought of Sophie out of his mind, it was still too painful, "You think I don't care about Mel? Of course I care! I can't stop caring! I wish I could but I can't."
"Then why are you fighting me on this?"
Ben shrugged, "You know it all could have been different. Mel and I could have been together and happy. If only I had made a few different decisions."
"Well, you didn't make them differently did you? Instead you abandoned her and your children not to mention all the times you've tried to kill her. And now, after all of it, you just might suceed."
Ben started chipping away at the ice around the wheel with the crowbar he'd brought down with him, "I don't want her to die, not really. I saw her when Keamy brought her back into camp, my heart froze and the sight of her. I thought she was already dead in his arms."
Christian shook his head, "If Mel had been truly dead, Keamy would have wasted no time in killing you."
"Does he truly love her?" Ben wondered.
"Why do you ask?"
"Because we are about to leave her. The two men who love her and who she has loved in return. We're not coming back. I just hope we've left her in good hands."
"Martin Keamy would give his life for her. He has loved her longer than the both of us, he will make her happy."
"And her unborn children?"
Christian's eyes widened at Ben's news.
"You didn't know she was pregnant?"
"No." Christian shook his head, "I didn't know."
"I'm sorry." Ben said, "That this has fallen to both of us."
"I'm not, if it means Mel will live and be safe then I would do it a thousand times over."
Ben nodded, "We should begin."
Both Christian and Ben took their places at the wheel. As one they began to push. Very slowly the wheel began to move. They had to use all of their strength to push the wheel and as they did a soft glow began to shine from it.
Christian glanced back and saw that Ben had tears in his eyes to match his own.
Ben's feet slid across the icy floor but he kept on pushing. As he did faced began to flash in front of his eyes. He saw his sweet Alex, Sophie with Molly and Thomas, Mel with William and Bella. Tears slid down his face but he didn't bother to wipe them away. "I love you." he whispered to them.
Christian had only one thought in his mind, Mel. His mind flipped through all of their time together and his heart broke as he realized he would never see the woman he loved again. "Goodbye darling." he whispered, "I love you."

Keamy, Jack, and Juliet all started at the loud noise outside. They looked out the windows and saw the island enveloped in a bright light. It faded just as fast as it had come. They stood there looking at one another wondering what had happened.
"NOOOOOOOO!" they heard from the table as Mel woke up. "No!" she cried, "They're gone! They're gone!"
Keamy pulled Mel close as her tears fell. Little did they know she was mourning the loss of the two most powerful men on the island, the men she had loved.

It had been a few moments when Ben had gone, and Sophie was still crying on the ground.
"Soph...." Richard said. She looked up at him with anger in her eyes.
"Its your fault he's gone! I hate you!" she said getting up and pushing by him.
John stood next to Richard as they saw her storm off. "Give her some space she just lost the man she loves."
"I know....." said Richard.
"We better catch up with her." John said starting to walk . "Sophie do you even know where your going?" John shouted.
"I don't care i just want to see my children!" She snapped back. John caught up to her. "Then we need to go east. Not south" He pointed with his knife. Sophie glared and then stormed off in the direction John said to go.

Emma and Sayid stumbled into the house to escape the bright light that suddenly surrounded them. Emma ran to Jack, terrified.
"What's going on, Jack?" she looked up into his eyes as he wrapped her in his arms. She felt so safe in his strong arms, and knew that as long as they were together they would be okay, no matter what the island might bring next.
"I don't know," he admitted.
Emma glanced around the house and noticed that Mel's surgery was now done, and she was already awake. Keamy cradled her in his arms, his grateful tears falling into her hair.
Mel continued to moan, over and over again, "They're gone!" Emma looked at Jack questioningly, but he had no answers for her.
Emma walked over to Mel and Keamy. She spoke gently, but firmly. "Tell us what's happened, Mel. Who's gone?"

Mel raised her bleary eyes to Emma as she repeated her question. She looked around the room seeing Sayid, Jack, and Juliet watching her closely before she came back to Emma.
Mel took a shakey breath, "Christian and Ben, they're gone."
She felt Keamy freeze at her words.
"Gone where?" Sayid asked.
Mel shuddered as the vision of them turning the wheel flashed in front of her eyes, "Somewhere cold I would guess. They were wearing heavy coats."
"How do you know this?" Jack wondered.
Mel shook her head, still unable to stop the tears, "I don't know. I saw it. But they're gone and they won't be coming back."
"Oh my God." Juliet whispered.
Keamy's hand grabbed Mel's and he ran his finger over her wedding ring. "I'm sorry Mel." he told her.
Mel gave him a small smile, "Don't be love. You couldn't have stopped him."
"We need to find a way to contact the mainland. We can finally be rescued without Ben interferring." Sayid said.
Mel pushed herself up off the table, "Don't bother Sayid. They wouldn't know where to look."
"And why is that?" he asked.
Mel walked slowly over to the door, "Because the island had been moved."
"Where are you going Mel?" Emma asked.
"I need to talk to Jacob, right now."
"No." Jack said shaking his head, "You've just been operated on, you need time to heal."
Mel pulled down her shirt to reveal her gunshot wound. Only it was no longer a wound. All that remained was a scar. "There is a reason Christian moved the island Jack, it was because of me."
"What about Ben?" Juliet asked, "Why did he move the island?"
"I don't know all of Ben's reasons Juliet. I just feel his loss." Mel answered as she stepped out of the door and made her was slowly into the jungle.

Keamy took off after Mel to make sure that she made it safely to her destination.
"I'm following them!" Emma declared and moved towards the door, but Sayid blocked her path.
"That's not a good idea. It will only anger Jacob."
Jack grabbed Emma's arm assertively and echoed Sayid's opinion. "Sayid's right. It wouldn't be safe." He turned towards Sayid. "We have to deal with Oliver and Frank now."
Sayid suddenly remembered their prisoners had been left unattended for some time. "I will watch them." Sayid turned his back on them and opened the door to leave.
"No torture, Sayid." Jack said firmly.
Sayid turned around to face Jack again, this time with a fierce glare. "Those days are behind me, Jack." He slammed the door behind him as he left.
Juliet cleared her throat uneasily. "I'll be at my house if you need me." She followed Sayid out the door, leaving Jack and Emma alone together for the first time in a very long time.

Mel stopped right in front of Jacob's cabin. "You can't come with me Martin."
"Like hell I can't. I'm not letting you go in there alone." he said looking down at her.
Mel turned toward him and smiled, "I need answers, and he isn't going to give me them if you are there. Please, wait out here."
Keamy wrapped his arms around Mel, "I don't want to lose you, I can't."
"You're one of the reasons I'm alive. Don't worry, he won't hurt me."
"How can you be sure?" he asked, his big hands tilting her face so she would look at him.
"Because he loves me, as if I was his own daughter. If he didn't he would have let me die a long time ago."
Keamy nodded, knowing it wouldn't do him any good to argue further, "I'll wait for you."
Mel stood on her tip toes to press a kiss to his lips, "Thank you." she whispered as she stepped away from him and without hesitation walked into the dark cabin.
