NYC is so far far away Indeed! The other side of the world to me! I'm planning a trip to the USA but December is far too early! My sister and her fiancé are going to NYC for the marathon but *that* is going to be to soon! It's all about timing!

Call me cynical, but I am beginning to worry things like this could indicate it's all a bit terminal for Ben

Well, this appearance is on December 28, and by then, Lost should be halfway through filming S6. But in any case, Michael booked this about a week before he is scheduled to return to the island, and I doubt he has the first script yet. So I'm sure he did this without any knowledge of what is ahead for Ben in S6, and therefore this shouldn't be a sign of what's to come.
If we see Michael walking around in New York more frequently in the fall, then we can worry.

Yea I don't think he scheduled this knowing what's going to happen to him on Lost. They probably have some sort of Christmas break. I think he is trying to stay involved in NY/Broadway/theatre as much as he can while still doing lost and this appearance allows him to do that.
PLUS I honestly think the LOST writers are insane if they kill off Ben too early in the final season. He is a huge part of the show and storyline and very popular with the viewers. Personally I'm hoping Ben survives the whole thing BUT my theory is that he won't because of the line his mother said. "It's not time YET."

Lucky students and industry people: It's only $15 dollars for them. I think $30 is a good deal; At least people get to see a working professional actor perform. I feel insulted that my 2 local community theaters and the university charge $22 dollars when we're not a big city like NYC or L.A, and nowhere near these places, which have big industries of professional working actors. A reading is always cheaper. If this would have been a full-blown play, the cost would have been $90.00 and more.
