"LA X" Written by Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse Directed by Jack Bender
The aftermath from Juliet's detonation of the hydrogen bomb is revealed. Under 12 hours to go until the return of Lost, Ben and Bocke. But since the real Locke is dead, can we really call it Bocke anymore? I guess we could call it "MIBen"[Man In Black and Ben] or even "Smoken"[Smokey and Ben] if the fake Locke is the monster, as most believe. But it's still Michael/Terry either way. Oh, and I guess those other characters are back too, in some kind of reality. If there is a reset, we might have to twiddle our thumbs for a while before Ben gets on screen. Will it be worth changing the future, and possibly bringing back dead characters, if it puts Ben/Flocke/Richard on the sidelines and takes up time that should probably be spent on other things? We may get an idea soon enough.

Smoken sounds great! But...scaring:D And MIBen too. . . Difficult to choose.
Yes, I've been thinking about the fact that the time which can be spent on Ben,Locke,Richard will probably be spent on the 'dead' characters...but I'm glad for the fact that Charlie's back! And it'll be nice to see dead characters again, I miss them. . Personally, I don't think that Ben will be put on sidelines cause he has a lot of conncections with Richard, Flocke, Jacob.. who seem to be eхtremely important in the final season. . .as I see it...

We're now under 108 minutes left, and 16 minutes from the Michael-narrated recap special. Now I shall take my leave, and hopefully see you again when we're trying to get our jaws off the floor. Let us all hope we don't have to wait too long for Ben first, as I fear we might.

O. M. G. As Locke said, "We're going to have to watch that again." I gave a notch less than perfect because it was, or seemed so, bipolar. Best line was Flocke's to Richard about getting out of his chains. First reaction: Richard was a slave. But it's way too soon to say for sure. EDIT: Please use spoiler tags for one whole week. We need to be respectful to those who have not yet seen the present episode. [Edith] Whoops, my apologies, the first sentence was OK. It's the second that can be a spoiler. It was late at night. Sorry.—Edith

I've watched it twice and my mind is so blown I have to watch it again when I get home with daughter! Yes, mine is blown either! I`m going to rewatch this because it`s impossible to wrap the mind around it from the very first... The premiere is so . . . I`m even at a loss for words. Steph what a pity!!! I understand you so much! One bad person spoiled me about the Incident, telling me about how and when Jacob would appear, how he would visit young Kate, Sawyer, save Locke... I was so disapponted!! But don`t get upset, please! You have 16 more new episodes and I do hope nobody won`t spoil you!

Not happy with the lack of Ben. Everyone who isn't Ben is starting to annoy me.

This episode definitely had more questions than answers, among my questions: 1) how did the Island end up submerged? 2) Does that mean everybody on the island died?? The others? even Richard? (Ben?!) 3) How come Hurley is now lucky? Is that even going to affect the story or just show us that detonating jughead caused major changes in the lives of everybody?
4) This is the biggest question and I doubt it's a blooper: Ben stabs Jacob, Jacob dies and is thrown to the fire. Locke picks up the knife and it still has fresh blood, Ben watches the fire with his jaw on the floor. But... Where the heck is Jacob's body? He obviously didn't burn to ashes since the blood in the knife is still fresh, and he didn't disappear or Ben would have said something right?
5) Why isn't Juliet taken to the temple to be healed? Why didn't Hurley say anything even though he knows that place heals people? 6) Is Sawyer really going to kill Jack? (crossing fingers hehe) 7) Will Sayid turn "evil" once he's back from the temple all healed? That's pretty much it... And i second that, not enough Ben and I'm also starting to get irritated by anybody who is not Ben (or Flocke)

Hurley's lucky because with no island to give birth to the numbers, he can't be cursed by them. He might be the only one who is better off without the island - although at least Locke is still alive in the reset, albeit still crippled.
Is there anyone else who thinks the MIB/smoke monster's home is the alternate reality? Perhaps the whole island is his prison, and with Jacob gone, he can use the Temple or some other power source to get back to the other side. It doesn't seem like the reset world is a place for smoke monsters, with no island around - but we don't know when and how he became a monster in the first place. Maybe the Losties were destined to come to the island and stop him, because they might wind up encountering him in the reset world at the end too. Maybe that is what ties the realities together, and makes the reset side more than another "It's A Wonderful Life" knockoff.

I really liked this episode. I watch LOST because I like the show. I liked the show before Michael Emerson was in it, and I will continue to watch it if he is no longer part of the storyline. I think this episode answered some questions, brought on new ones, and I never thought that it would be possible to make the storyline follow in a different direction. I will miss the show when it is over.
