After last week, most fans were ready to turn on S6 - even though they know to expect little from a Kate-centric ep. I think now more and more fans are realizing what we've known for years- without Ben, both Lockes and Richard, we have a much worse show. Since our main gang has the spotlight all to themselves tonight, for the first time this season, that lesson will likely sink in for the rest of the fans. It should be fun to see all the fans who worried about Lost last week do a complete 180 tonight, now that the real stars are finally running the show for a week. Of course, if they screw this up, then we might have to be concerned. Don't forget to watch Michael on Jimmy Kimmel about 2 1/2 hours after the ep airs- will there be a lot of new Ben stuff to talk about? “The Substitute” Written by Elizabeth Sarnoff & Melinda Hsu Taylor Directed by Tucker Gates.
Locke goes in search of help to further his cause.

I think that we need John Locke or UnLocke and/or Ben to get a good episode. And this episode was good and revealing.

The Locke burial scene, with Ben's eulogy and Lapidus's comment... That's all I can think to say right now. This was a great episode, and there's so much more to talk about...but man, I just loved that scene.

The eulogy was priceless. Socially awkward Ben steps to the front.
And teacher Ben was great. It's his redemption and he shows Arzt how to be a PITA and not end up in tiny pieces. LOL!

Arzt was truly a PITA, whereas Ben was being a PITA, but it wasn't so grating. But then, my judgment might be clouded.

Great episode! seriously after "What Kate does" I was starting to worry that S6 might be a flop, but they sure redeemed themselves with this episode! So Ben teaches European history? tehehehe funny enough that's the history I love to read Question: how come Locke is back with Helen when she dumped him way before the plane crash? How come Helen says that asking Locke's dad to the wedding would be a good idea? Does that mean that Locke is in a wheelchair for some other reason other than his dad pushing him from the 8th floor? Why would Helen want to invite him if she knew that he nearly killed John? Is Locke's dad a good guy now, meaning he's not "Tom Sawyer", that con artist?? Does that mean that John's kidney wasn't stolen? Weird. By now, I'm seriously wondering if Jacob is just a sadistic ahole playing with people's fates and destiny and that Flocke is OK, or that there's a lot more to discover about Jacob. By the way, that little boy running... who was it?? Young Jacob? some people say it's Aaron but how? He's still a baby.. right? Wohooo can't wait for next episode!!!!

YUP. HATED Kate's epi but I really loved this one. Ben as a teacher - and a HISTORY teacher, even better....*swoons* But, I feel like Darlton are lying to us, repeatedly. They promised us, in old podcasts, that: 1. An alternate/dual reality wouldn't happen. 2. The numbers would never be explained. Hrmm....... I really loved Locke's alternate reality. I missed Helen. She's the best thing that ever happened to him. Shame he lied to Boone about his Walkabout, though.
