I was so scared to see the chapter ... Fortunately all ended well. This guy is a genius, the scene with Iliana, no words xd

We saw this phenomenon with Michael. No matter how much he tried to kill himself once he was off island, he stayed alive. Only when the freighter exploded did he get killed.
Just out of curiosity, do we know whether Michael was a candidate? I think his name was crossed off.

I agree with you, Jo: I was a little disappointed about that; it could have been a stronger storyline. Michael's performance made me forget this point... ;D

Richard said - When Jacob touches you, it makes you special. I know I"m going to come off rude, but this is bothering me. EVERYONE and their mom keeps saying what special gift does so and so have now, who's gonna live forever, . I think so many people are not listening to the words. Richard is alive becasue Jacob made him that way specifically. He touched Hurley, Jack and the others to get them to the island. I don't know, something about it all is bothering me immensely. I had to get it out. It's like the question, "What was the president's name in 1980? Most people say Ronald Reagan. you'd be wrong, it was Barack Obama, his name hasn't changed since 1980. Do you see or understand what I'm saying??? As Edith already said, Jacob gives different "specialties" to each person, but it also bothers me to think about this "candidates" and Locke and him being so "special" in previous seasons. Was he special because he was Man in Locke's vessel??? Through S1 to S5 everything we heard was that Locke-is-so-special, bnut then Richard told Jack that he met Locke and he tought he wasn't special at all, so what's that all about? Was he or wasn't he special?

Watched it for Sophie.
Spoilt by a very predictable and cheesy ending

To give Ilana some credit, it was better than her just shooting Ben right away - then her heart couldn't have grown three sizes that day from the big speech.
I think that scene was the first time the Losties did something in S6 that wasn't influenced by Jacob and/or the monster. Given what we've learned, it may be the first time they ever did something without their influence, period. But Ben used his own free will to confess himself, instead of doing what the monster told him, and Ilana used her own independent judgement to spare him. That has become a rare thing- but that may be another reason why this could be the turning point of the whole war.

ABC's website has had guests do episode commentary for the full episodes online. According to Carrie's Twitter, Michael did an episode commentary for Dr. Linus that will be on ABC online soon. From twitter.com/Carrie_Preston

I can't remember the blog where I read that the scene where Ilana beat Ben was clipped out of the ep that aired, but here's a media still that maybe is a tip off to that. Ilana pwns BenMaybe they cut it because beating up Ben is beginning to be a touch cliché.

I thought there was a scene missing when I watched this ep coz one minute he's digging the grave and the next scene he's still digging but with a bleeding nose I kept wondering if i'd missed something LOL! Why did they cut it out? Actually i'm glad coz I hate seeing Ben hurt it makes me cry LOL
